There are 11 Yuma golf courses on our map: five in the Fortuna Foothills east of town, four in and around the city, and two in Wellton, about 40 minutes east of downtown on I-8. A full-length 18 with a cart ran about $35 to $75 in rates seen October 2026, and the par-3 courses start at $10 for a walking nine.

Rates change by season and most courses have not posted their 2027 peak prices, so treat every figure here as a snapshot seen on October 23, 2026.

Yuma golf courses at a glance

Back-tee yardage, rating and slope are USGA figures where the course is rated; four of the courses (the three par-3 courses and Fortuna Del Rey) have no USGA rating, and Foothills Executive is rated only as two loops of its nine. Drive times are routed estimates from downtown Yuma.

The low end of most ranges is a late-afternoon or nine-hole price, so a normal morning round costs more. The 2026 overseed dates come from the Arizona Golf Association's 2026 list. Where no date is shown, the list said to contact the course or the course is not on it.

Golf courses in the Fortuna Foothills

The Foothills sit about 15 to 19 road miles east of downtown below the Gila Mountains. Many winter visitors base here, and all five courses are within about 15 minutes of each other. For the area itself, see our guide to Fortuna Foothills golf.

Las Barrancas Golf Course

The longest and hilliest public course on this side of Yuma, opened in 2005 at the base of the Gila Mountains, with washes and elevation changes that are unusual for the area. The posted rate is a flat $65 for 18 with a cart. The rate page lists a $55 twilight from 3 PM, but the live tee sheet for Saturday, Oct 24, 2026 showed $35 from 3 PM and $25 later. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings carry league play from about October to April. A 12-bay Trackman range sits on the property. Conditioning reviews are mixed (Google 3.8 from 156 reviews). Full detail is in the Las Barrancas course guide and our post on Las Barrancas Golf Course.

Mesa del Sol Golf Club

An older (1978) course credited to Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay by golf listings, with greens regrassed to TifEagle bermuda in 2022. Its two nines sit on either side of S Camino del Sol. It does not close for overseed, so it is the Foothills course to know in October. Late-October 2026 weekday prices stepped down from $55 in the morning to $35 from 2 PM, with a cart. Leagues and passholders take big blocks of the winter sheet. See the Mesa del Sol course guide.

Foothills Executive and Foothills Par 3

Both are sister courses of Las Barrancas, about 500 meters apart on County 14th St. Foothills Executive is a nine-hole par 34 at $35, with the Tipsy Cactus cantina on site and a $15 rate for the last hour of starts on the late-October tee sheet. The AGA list showed it closed for overseed Oct 16-30, 2026, yet the live sheet was selling times for Oct 24-30, so call 928-305-6252 before you go. Foothills Par 3 is a $20 walking nine with holes of 60 to 175 yards, a range open all day and lighted night golf Tuesday to Saturday from 6 PM.

Fortuna Del Rey

A flat, regulation nine inside Fortuna de Oro RV Resort, a Cal-Am 55+ park. The resort publishes no visitor policy or green fees, and its leagues are for residents only. If you are not staying there, call the pro shop (928-342-4766) before going.

Golf courses in the city of Yuma

Desert Hills Golf Course

The City of Yuma's municipal 18, opened in 1973. It hosted the Yuma Open, a Ben Hogan Tour event from 1990 to 1992 and a Nike Tour event in 1993 (not a PGA Tour stop). The Jan-Mar table runs $75 with a cart or $55 walking before 11 AM, down to $49 or $40 after 1 PM. Walking is allowed at all times, and 10-play punch cards are $650 with a cart or $500 walking (Jan-Mar only). On Oct 23, 2026 no online times were bookable through Oct 31, and the booking engine asked golfers to call the pro shop at 928-373-5220. More in the Desert Hills course guide.

Arroyo Dunes Par 3

The city's 18-hole par 3 (2,174 yards, holes of 65 to 180 yards) just north of Desert Hills. It reopened on Dec 13, 2025 after new irrigation. In Jan-Mar it cost $20 to walk 18 or $10 to walk nine. Tee times are by phone only (928-726-8350).

Yuma Golf & Country Club

Yuma's member-owned club, opened in 1950, flat and tree-lined near the airport. It calls itself private and also semi-private, and it sells public tee times on its own booking page up to 7 days ahead. Public green fees are not published anywhere we could read, so call 928-726-4210.

Cocopah Bend Golf Course

A short (5,737 yards), flat, narrow par 73 at Cocopah Bend RV & Golf Resort, run by the Cocopah Indian Tribe on S Strand Avenue on the west side. It is easy to walk and closes in October for overseed. Booking and rates are by phone only (928-343-1663).

Wellton golf courses, east on I-8

Wellton is about 40 minutes east of downtown Yuma on I-8 (39 minutes routed to Coyote Wash), or about 25 minutes from the Foothills hotels.

  • Coyote Wash is the Town of Wellton's desert course, opened in 2003 and credited to Gary Panks Associates. It plays par 70 for men from 6,089 yards. The FY 2026-27 brochure lists a maximum of $70 with a cart, a $2,500 single season pass and a $600 transferable 10-play card with a cart. Kids 17 and under play free. Read our Coyote Wash golf guide.
  • Butterfield is the town's 18-hole par 3 (2,700 yards) on Dome Street, about 2 miles from Coyote Wash. The latest posted sheet (FY 2025-26) is $30 before 1 PM and $24 after. Tee times are by phone, 3 days ahead.

  • Ironwood, a nine on W 8th St in west Yuma: status unclear, call first. It has no website or online tee sheet.
  • Cocopah Rio Colorado in Somerton: closed permanently on Aug 1, 2023. Its punch cards were moved to Cocopah Bend.
  • Sierra Sands south of Yuma: closed in 2006.

When Yuma golf courses close for overseed

Yuma's courses are bermudagrass, which goes brown in the cool months, so most overseed with rye each fall. In 2026 Las Barrancas closed its front nine Sep 17 to Oct 3 and its back nine Oct 2 to 23, Foothills Par 3 closed Sep 25 to Oct 9, and Mesa del Sol did not close at all. Desert Hills, Yuma Golf & Country Club, Cocopah Bend and the Wellton courses did not publish 2026 dates. Our Yuma golf overseed guide covers the full pattern and what to book in October.

Winter and summer rates

Green fees are highest in January to March. Las Barrancas defines its season as Oct 1 to Apr 30. Desert Hills changes its table several times a year, and its Nov-Dec 2026 rates were not posted on Oct 23. Summer rack rates are mostly unpublished: the last official Desert Hills summer table (July-October 2024) was $49 with a cart or $30 walking before 11 AM. Season by season detail is in our Yuma golf rates guide, and the Yuma summer golf guide covers playing in the heat. For passes and punch cards, see Yuma golf passes.
