Lie of the Land
Privacy Policy
How we handle the information you give us.
Last updated October 17, 2026
Lie of the Land (lieoftheland.com) is operated by Sidekick Software, Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Trip details you enter in the trip planner: dates, group size, how you like to play, courses and hotel preferences, budget and any notes.
- Contact details: your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number.
- Payment: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us whether a payment went through and the email used.
- Basic technical information: like any website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for security and reliability.
- Saved on your device: the trip planner saves your unfinished answers in your own browser so you don't lose them. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
How we use it
- To prepare your golf trip plan, make the changes you ask for, and email you a link to it.
- To process payment and keep records we're required to keep.
- To answer your questions and give support.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to understand in general how it is used.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to send you marketing unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us run the service, and only what they need:
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Vercel: website hosting and secure storage of your plan.
- Resend: sending the email that links to your plan.
- Anthropic: automated drafting of your plan from the trip details you provide.
These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and advertising
We use your browser's local storage to remember your unfinished trip planner answers. We may use advertising and analytics tools, such as Google Ads conversion measurement, to see whether our ads lead to visits and purchases. These tools may set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
How long we keep it
We keep your trip details and plan so you can come back to it and request changes, and we keep payment records as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your plan and personal details at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you if you send us a message (use the Help button on any page). We'll reply within 30 days.
Children
This service is meant for adults planning travel. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
