The plain-English rules for using Lie of the Land.

These terms apply to lieoftheland.com and the trip planning service, operated by Sidekick Software, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. By using the site or buying a plan, you agree to them.

What the site is

Lie of the Land is a free guide to golf courses and golf hotels, with an interactive map and articles. Course details, green fees, closures and drive times come from public sources such as course websites and booking systems. They change often, so always confirm with the course or hotel before you book.

The trip plan

• For a one-time fee (shown before you pay, currently $30 USD), we prepare a day-by-day golf trip plan based on the details you give us.
• Your plan is delivered by email, usually within 1 business day.
• One set of changes to your plan is included at no additional charge. More changes can be added for an extra fee, shown before you pay.
• The plan is planning advice only. You make your own bookings directly with courses, hotels, airlines and rental companies. We don't book anything for you and we don't sell travel packages.
• Tee times, green fees, hotel rates, drive times and weather in your plan are estimates. We can't guarantee availability, prices or conditions.
• Where your plan notes open tee times, that is what the course's public tee sheet showed when we checked, or when its booking window opens. It is not a reservation or a hold, and we don't guarantee a time will still be available. Only the course can confirm a tee time.

Payment

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. All purchases are final; see our Refund Policy.

Using the site fairly

Please don't misuse the site: no scraping or copying the map, data or articles in bulk, no attempts to break or overload the service, and no use for anything unlawful. Your plan link is private to you; please don't publish it.

Our content

The map, data, articles and design are owned by us or used with permission. You may use your plan and the site for your own personal trip planning.

No affiliation

We aren't affiliated with the golf courses, hotels or other businesses we write about unless we say so. Course names and logos belong to their owners.

Limits of our responsibility

We work hard to keep information accurate, but we provide the site and plans "as is". We aren't responsible for decisions you make based on them, or for changes made by courses, hotels or other businesses. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the plan.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
