Las Barrancas Golf Course in Yuma is a public 18-hole, par-72 desert course in the Fortuna Foothills, opened in 2005 at the base of the Gila Mountains. It is the longest public layout in the area at 6,888 yards, charged a flat $65 for 18 with a cart in October 2026, and books 7 days ahead.

Las Barrancas Golf Course is also the most interesting public course on the east side of Yuma, with elevation changes that most of the area's flat courses do not have. Conditioning reviews are mixed, so know what you are booking.

The Las Barrancas layout

Las Barrancas Golf Course runs across rolling desert ground under the Gila Mountains, with washes, mountain views and more elevation change than you expect in Yuma. Reviewers describe the back nine as the tougher side, with forced carries and multi-tier greens. There are four par 3s: #3, #7, #12 and #16, which account for the club's listed aces.

Two holes get singled out: #7, a 211-yard par 3 from the Black tees, and #14. Both were named by a visiting golfer quoted on the club site.

We rate it 3 of 5 for difficulty. It is not a brute, but the Black tees are the stiffest test among Yuma's public courses.

Las Barrancas Golf Course, Yuma: green fees in 2026

All figures were seen on October 23, 2026, from the club's rate page and its live tee sheet. The club defines its season as Oct 1 to Apr 30 and summer as May 1 to Sep 30.

Rate Price Notes
18 holes with cart$65Same rate for every day Oct 24-30, 2026 on the live sheet
9 holes$35
Twilight (rate page)$55From 3:00 PM to close
Late Saturday (live sheet, Oct 24)$35, then $25$35 for 3:00-4:20 PM, $25 after
Military / first responder$50Rate table
Service Member Golf Benefit$50 in season, $30 May-SepGreen fee and cart, with ID
Junior (15-17)$10

No separate January to March rate is published, so the same $65 is likely through the season, but that is not confirmed. Summer rack rates are not published either; the drop in the service-member rate from $50 to $30 suggests a cheaper summer, and May to September is extreme heat in Yuma anyway.

There is no published membership, annual pass, punch card or winter pass price (checked October 2026). Buyers at The Ravines of Yuma home development get an annual golf pass at closing, with terms not stated. For the wider picture, see Yuma golf passes.

The nine-hole overseed pattern

Las Barrancas overseeds one nine at a time, so for most of the overseed period at least nine holes are open. In 2026, per the Arizona Golf Association list, the front nine was closed Sep 17 to Oct 3 and the back nine Oct 2 to Oct 23. The full 18 was back on sale from Oct 24 at $65.

The 2024 pattern was similar but later: nine holes from Sep 30 to Oct 9, both nines closed Oct 10 to 13, and all 18 back on Oct 27 (Yuma Sun). If you are in town in early October, expect to play nine holes rather than 18. Our Yuma golf overseed guide covers the other courses, including Mesa del Sol, which does not overseed at all.

How to get a winter tee time at Las Barrancas

The tee sheet opens 7 days out, online at Quick18 or by phone. Bookings are capped at four players, a credit card holds the time and you pay at the course. Changes and cancellations go by phone only, at least 24 hours ahead, or the card is charged for the whole group.

To get the time you want from January to March:

  • Book the morning the date opens. On Oct 23, 2026 the sheet was loaded through Oct 30 and empty for Nov 1.
  • Avoid league mornings. The Silver League plays every Tuesday (men and women, 18 holes) and the Women's League every Wednesday, about October to April. Our guide to Yuma golf leagues explains how they work.
  • Check the live sheet for late-day prices. It has shown afternoon times well below the $55 twilight on the rate page.
  • Mind the clock if you drive in from California. Yuma stays on Mountain Standard Time, so from Nov 1, 2026 to Mar 14, 2027 a 9:00 tee time is 8:00 in San Diego.

More booking detail for every course is in Yuma tee times in winter.

Practice, food and the new clubhouse

The 12-bay Trackman range costs $20 for 30 minutes, $40 an hour, $60 for 90 minutes and $80 for two hours, and bays book 14 days ahead (call 928-832-2318). It is the only full range on the property, so book a bay in winter if you want a proper warm-up. There is also a putting green and an 18-hole putting course. Our Yuma driving range guide compares it with the other practice options.

The Trackman Deli & Bar at the range serves pizzas, sandwiches, all-day breakfast and a full bar to the bays. A new clubhouse, golf shop, events center and a restaurant called The Carvery are announced as coming soon, with no opening date as of October 2026. The current golf shop carries Srixon and PING clubs, Cleveland wedges and putters, Nike shoes and logo apparel. Proper golf attire is required, per the GolfNow listing.

Sister courses and where to stay

Las Barrancas lists two sister courses a few minutes away on County 14th St: the nine-hole Foothills Executive and the Foothills Par 3, which has lighted night golf. Each has its own page: the Foothills Executive course guide and the Foothills Par 3 course guide. Together they make a full practice-and-play setup for a winter in the Foothills, and our Fortuna Foothills golf guide covers the area.

Who Las Barrancas suits

  • Winter visitors playing two or three rounds a week who want one course with real elevation change and a full range on site.
  • Mid and low handicappers. The Black and Quartz tees are the stiffest public test in the Yuma area.
  • Veterans, first responders and Border Patrol staff, who pay $50 with a cart in season and $30 in summer under the Service Member Golf Benefit.
  • Groups, with one catch: each booking is capped at four players, so a larger group needs several bookings, each with its own 24-hour phone cancellation rule.

It suits you less if turf conditions matter more than layout to you, or if you like to walk: no walking rate or walking policy is published.

Before you go

Plug the address in carefully. The club lists 14476 E 48th St, Google shows 14476 E 48th Dr, and the club website prints the ZIP as 83567, which is a typo for 85367. The course is part of the Las Barrancas Golf Club group that also runs the two Foothills courses, and it hosts outings, weddings and banquets, so check the club calendar for event days. The October 2026 calendar, for example, listed a Cleveland demo day at the range on Oct 29.

Is Las Barrancas worth it?

For a first visit to Yuma, yes. Las Barrancas Golf Course is the longest and hilliest course in the Foothills group, at a flat $65 with a cart and cheaper late in the day. The trade-offs are mixed conditioning reviews and busy league mornings. If you are choosing between the two big Foothills courses, read Las Barrancas vs Mesa del Sol, and for the city alternative, Desert Hills, see Desert Hills vs Las Barrancas. The Las Barrancas course guide has the scorecard data in one place.

Plan it on the map

Las Barrancas Golf Course and its two sister courses are on the Yuma golf map, with drive times to every hotel and RV resort nearby. The $30 plan can fit it into a short trip or a whole winter stay with a weekly rotation that skips the league mornings.
