Las Barrancas: the Trackman range

The Las Barrancas range is a 12-bay Trackman setup, the only one of its kind in Yuma on our map and the only full range on that property. Prices seen in October 2026 were $20 for 30 minutes, $40 for an hour, $60 for 90 minutes and $80 for 2 hours. Bays book 14 days ahead through the golf site link, or call the range at 928-832-2318.

The Trackman Deli & Bar serves pizzas, sandwiches, all-day breakfast and drinks to the bays, so a session can double as lunch. There is also a putting green and an 18-hole putting course. Older reviews mention free range balls with a round, but the current policy isn't stated. In winter, book a bay ahead if you want a warm-up before your tee time. The Las Barrancas course guide has course and booking details, and our Las Barrancas golf course guide covers playing it.

Mesa del Sol: a grass range open to everyone

Mesa del Sol has a full-length grass driving range open to the public, with an all-turf hitting area, a chipping green and two to three putting greens. Hours are dawn to dusk, with two catches: basket sales end 60 minutes before sunset, and on Mondays the range closes 2 hours before sunset and reopens mid-morning Tuesday.

Basket prices weren't published. A monthly individual range pass is sold (price not published), and the club's 2026-27 season passes include range use along with green fees and cart. Lessons run October to April with LPGA pro Marci Brock and with Rich Walton, both $75 for 45 minutes, and the club holds Srixon fitting days. See the Mesa del Sol course guide.

Desert Hills: the short-game center

The City of Yuma's course has the most complete practice area in town: a driving range, four putting greens, three chipping greens, two warm-up bunkers, a 10-hole short-game course and a FootGolf course. Range balls were $6 for 30 or $10 for 60, and a 25-punch range card was $195. The golf shop offers lessons and club fitting, and rents Ping G410 clubs ($40 for 18, $25 for 9). It is about 11 minutes from downtown. The Desert Hills course guide has the rest.

Par-3 courses for wedge practice

For a practice-heavy winter, a par-3 round is often more useful than a bucket.

  • Foothills Par 3: a walkable nine of 60 to 175 yards, $20, with a driving range open all day, putting and chipping greens, and lighted night golf Tuesday to Saturday from 6 PM to about 9:30 PM. Cart $5, pull cart $2. Our Foothills Par 3 guide covers night golf.
  • Arroyo Dunes: the city's 18-hole par 3, 65 to 180 yards, reopened with new irrigation in December 2025. It was $20 to walk 18 in the January-to-March table, and the scorecard asks for 3 hours or less. Book by phone at 928-726-8350. See our Arroyo Dunes par 3 guide.
  • Butterfield, Wellton: an 18-hole par 3 of 2,700 yards, $30 before 1 PM and $24 after on the FY 2025-26 sheet.

The 9-hole par 3 at Westwind RV & Golf Resort has unclear status, so call first before planning practice there.

Practice areas at the RV resorts

If you are staying a season, a range at your own park saves a drive. Caravan Oasis 55+ RV Park in the Foothills has a driving range and putting green on site, and allows golf carts. Fortuna de Oro RV Resort has a driving range and practice putting area beside its 9-hole Fortuna Del Rey course, mainly for residents. Cocopah Bend RV & Golf Resort has the grass-station range and two putting greens of its 18-hole course on site. Westwind RV & Golf Resort is still open as a place to stay, a few minutes from the Mesa del Sol range. Public access and prices at the RV-resort ranges are not published, so ask at the office.

Practice through the seasons

From November to April, mornings from the high 40s to about 60F make a mid-morning range session the comfortable choice. In summer, with highs of about 103F to 107F from June to August, practice at first light and carry far more water than usual. During the fall overseed, from late September to late October, courses close in turn; Mesa del Sol does not close for overseed, so start there in October and call the others before you go.

Range passes for a winter stay

If you will practice most days for months, a pass beats buying buckets:

  • Coyote Wash (FY 2026-27): monthly range pass $125, season (October to April 30) $425, annual $475.
  • Desert Hills: 25-punch range card, $195.
  • Mesa del Sol: monthly individual range pass, price not published; season passes include range.
  • Las Barrancas: no range pass price posted.

Our Yuma golf passes guide covers the green-fee side of each program.

Practice-area rules worth knowing

A few house rules affect practice days. Arroyo Dunes does not permit metal spikes and asks that each player has their own set of clubs and bag. Yuma Golf & Country Club does not allow metal spikes either. At Mesa del Sol, basket sales stop an hour before sunset, so a late session needs an early start. In winter, book a Las Barrancas Trackman bay ahead, ideally when you book your tee time.

A practice-heavy winter week
