Foothills Executive Golf Course in Yuma is a public nine-hole, par-34 course in the Fortuna Foothills, run by the Las Barrancas group. It cost $35 for nine on the posted rate and $15 for the last hour of starts in late October 2026, and the Tipsy Cactus cantina sits on site, which makes it an easy evening nine.
It is not a destination course. It is a short, cheap round for a busy day, a second loop after a morning 18, or a nine with dinner afterwards.

The Foothills Executive layout
Foothills Executive Golf Course is a nine-hole desert executive layout with mountain views. The scorecard pars run 4-3-4-4-3-4-5-3-4 for a par 34: three par 3s, five par 4s and one par 5. The homepage describes four par 3s and four par 4s instead, so go by the card.
| Tee | Yards (current card) |
|---|---|
| Black | 2,610 |
| Copper | 2,350 |
| Silver | 2,150 |
| Gold | 1,866 |
The USGA rates the course as an 18-hole par 68, which is the nine played twice. From the Black tees that rating is 64.0 with a 99 slope for 5,088 yards; Copper is 61.0/96, Silver 60.6/94 for men and 63.4/97 for women, and Gold 59.4/87 for women. The USGA yardages are lower than twice the current card (2 x 2,610 is 5,220), so the rating may predate a renovation that a third-party listing mentions without a date or scope. We rate it 2 of 5 for difficulty.

Overseed in 2026
The Arizona Golf Association's 2026 overseed list showed Foothills Executive Golf Course closed from Oct 16 to Oct 30. That conflicts with the live tee sheet, which on Oct 23 was selling $35 nine-hole times (and $15 late times) for every day from Oct 24 to 30. The course may have reopened early or been playing on temporary conditions, so call 928-305-6252 before an October round. In 2024 it reopened on Oct 8. Our Yuma golf overseed guide has the other courses' dates.
The Tipsy Cactus
The Tipsy Cactus is a Mexican cantina on site, rated 4.5 on Google from 37 reviews. It is open 7 AM to 10 PM Tuesday to Saturday and 7 AM to 7 PM Sunday and Monday, with live music Tuesday to Thursday from 5 to 8 PM in winter (phone 928-378-3054). Several Foothills restaurants showed 7 to 8 PM closing times, so a nine here followed by dinner and music is one of the easier evenings out on this side of town. More options are in where to eat in Yuma.
Winter leagues
The Men's League plays Wednesday and the Women's League Thursday, nine holes each, in the winter season. Each entry puts $5 into the weekly prize pool, and there are three closest-to-the-pin contests. Sign up in the pro shop. Expect a busy morning tee sheet on those days. Our guide to Yuma golf leagues covers how the clubs and associations work.
When the executive nine beats a full 18
- Late in the day. The live sheet's $15 last-hour rate was the lowest adult rate in the Las Barrancas group in late October 2026.
- As a second loop. Play Las Barrancas in the morning and add a nine here in the afternoon, a few minutes away.
- On a budget week. Nine holes for $35 against $65 for 18 at Las Barrancas, and $25 for service members in season.
- In the heat. May to September brings extreme heat in Yuma, and a nine at first light is easier than 18.
- Before dinner. Tee off, finish, and walk into the Tipsy Cactus.
It also suits families and newer golfers: juniors aged 15 to 17 pay $5, the course is short enough to finish quickly, and the forward Gold tees play 1,866 yards for nine. Players who want par 4s and a par 5 rather than a pure par-3 loop will prefer it to the Foothills Par 3.
Foothills Executive Golf Course is the wrong choice if you want to practice full swings: there is no range on this property, only a putting green and a chipping green.
A Foothills day built around the nine
A simple winter day on this side of town uses all three courses in the group:
- Morning: 18 holes at Las Barrancas, booked the day the 7-day window opens. Avoid Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, which are league time there.
- Midday: lunch at the Trackman Deli & Bar at the Las Barrancas range.
- Mid-afternoon: the executive nine from 3 PM at the $30 rate page price, or in the last hour of starts if the live sheet shows the $15 rate.
- Evening: dinner and, from Tuesday to Thursday in winter, live music at the Tipsy Cactus.
If you are driving over from California for the day, remember that Yuma stays on Mountain Standard Time. From Nov 1, 2026 to Mar 14, 2027 a 3:00 PM tee time here is 2:00 PM in San Diego.
Before you go
The club site prints the ZIP as 83567, a typo for 85367. The Foothills Par 3's site header also shows 14200, the Executive course's address, although the Par 3 is at 14000 E County 14th St, about 500 meters west. The two courses have separate phones (928-305-6252 for the Executive) and separate tee sheets, so make sure you book the right one. The golf shop sells equipment and apparel, rents carts, books lessons and sells gift cards. The Service Member Golf Benefit covers active or retired military, law enforcement, first responders, firefighters, Homeland Security and Border Patrol, with ID.
