St. George, Utah has 16 golf courses on the Utah side: 13 full-length courses, two 9-hole courses and a par-3 pitch-and-putt, spread across St. George itself, Ivins, Washington and Hurricane. Add the nine courses around Mesquite, Nevada, and the Arizona line, and there are 25 places to play within an hour of downtown. Most St. George golf courses take public tee times, and the cheapest 18 holes started at $30 walking when we checked the city rates in October 2026.

This page is the full list. It tells you where each course is, which side of town it sits on, whether you can get on, how long the drive is and what it cost when we looked. If you want opinions on which ones to play, read the best golf courses in St. George instead.

How St. George golf is laid out

St. George sits in the far southwest corner of Utah, in Washington County, with I-15 running through the middle of town. The golf falls into five clusters, and knowing which one your hotel is in saves a lot of driving.

Cluster Towns Courses Drive from downtown
Central and south St. GeorgeSt. George, Bloomington areaDixie Red Hills, Southgate, St. George Golf Club, SunRiver, Bloomington CC7–14 min
West side and Snow CanyonSt. George (toward Santa Clara), IvinsSunbrook, Entrada, Black Desert, The Ledges12–15 min
East sideWashingtonGreen Spring, Coral Canyon12–17 min
Hurricane, toward ZionHurricaneSky Mountain, Sand Hollow (3 courses), Copper Rock28–36 min
Down I-15Beaver Dam and Littlefield AZ, Mesquite NVNine courses39–57 min

The first three clusters are all within about a quarter of an hour of each other, so a base anywhere in town works for them. Hurricane is a half-hour run east. Mesquite is a day trip or a separate base. Our guide to where to stay for golf in St. George matches each cluster to its nearest hotels.

Central and south St. George: the four city courses and SunRiver

The city runs Sunbrook, St. George Golf Club, Southgate and Dixie Red Hills. All four book online 14 days out through trutee.app, all four have walking rates, and all four use two seasons: an October to May rate and a cheaper June to September rate. The full rate card is in our guide to St. George city golf courses.

St. George Golf Club is the only par 73 in the area and plays 7,271 yards from the Gold tees, but the slope is a modest 129. There is no driving range, so locals warm up at Southgate first.

Southgate is the shortest city 18 at 6,218 yards, minutes off I-15. Eight of the first nine holes have water as the front nine crosses the Santa Clara River, and the back nine climbs into the Tonaquint foothills. The city calls it walkable. The convention-center hotels, including the Hyatt Place and Holiday Inn, are about 4 minutes away.

Dixie Red Hills opened in 1965 and was the city's first course. It is a 2,738-yard par 34 under red sandstone cliffs, just north of downtown.

SunRiver sits inside a 55+ community at the south end of town, right off I-15 exit 2 near the Arizona line, but takes public tee times. It is flat and straightforward, and a Washington County ID drops the peak 18-hole rate from $105–$115 to $72. The Hampton Inn & Suites SunRiver is about 4 minutes away. Bloomington Country Club, nearby, is private and member-owned; visitors play only as a member's guest.

The west side: Sunbrook, Entrada, Black Desert and The Ledges

The west side runs out toward Santa Clara and Ivins, with Snow Canyon State Park on the northern edge. It holds the area's two highest-ranked courses.

Sunbrook is the city's flagship, 12 minutes from downtown. It has 27 holes in three nines (The Pointe, Woodbridge and Blackrock), so the tee sheet tells you which pairing you get. Woodbridge No. 4 is a par 3 from an elevated tee to an island green, and the bunkers are red crushed cinder. Peak season was $88 with a cart.

Black Desert in Ivins is Tom Weiskopf's final design, finished by his partner Phil Smith and opened in full in May 2023. Golf Digest ranks it No. 2 in Utah, and it hosts the PGA TOUR's fall event (the Bank of Utah Championship in 2026). The 2026 rate card ran $325 to $450 for non-guests and $250 to $325 for resort guests, with cart, forecaddie and on-course food included.

Entrada at Snow Canyon is a private Johnny Miller course rebuilt by David McLay Kidd and reopened in 2022. It ranks No. 5 in Utah. The only way on without a member is to stay at The Inn at Entrada, about a minute from the first tee.

The Ledges is a Matt Dye design at about 3,800 feet, the highest course in this list, with a back nine on the sandstone edge of Snow Canyon State Park. It has the longest public booking window in St. George at 120 days.

These four, plus Snow Canyon itself, are covered together in our Ivins and Snow Canyon golf guide.

The east side: Green Spring and Coral Canyon in Washington

Washington sits just east of St. George along I-15. Green Spring is Washington City's municipal course, a Gene Bates design from 1989, 12 minutes from downtown. Holes 5 and 6 carry a red-rock gorge; No. 6, "Devil's Gulch," was long ranked Utah's hardest hole in a Salt Lake Tribune poll. Green fees include a cart and ran $50 in summer to $90 on spring weekends. The Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites are 2 to 3 minutes away.

Coral Canyon, 17 minutes out, is a Keith Foster design from 2000 with wide fairways but real forced carries. Its front nine carries a 155 slope from the Black tees, against 140 on the back. It is one of the few courses here that does not overseed, because it grows cool-season grass all year. The Holiday Inn Express St. George North - Zion is about 3 minutes from the clubhouse.

Hurricane: Sand Hollow, Sky Mountain and Copper Rock

Hurricane is 28 to 36 minutes east of downtown St. George and is the closest golf to Zion National Park.

Sand Hollow Resort has three things to play. The Championship course is a John Fought design whose back nine runs along a cliff edge on holes 11 through 15; Golf Digest had it No. 10 in Utah for 2025-26. The Links is a wide, wind-exposed nine you can walk, and the Wee is a 40 to 100-yard pitch-and-putt that is not on the online tee sheet.

Sky Mountain is Hurricane's city course, a short mesa-top layout (6,306 yards from the Blue tees) with views toward Zion and Pine Valley Mountain, about 26 road miles from Zion's south entrance. Fees were about $68 to $88 with a cart, from secondary sources because the official site could not be read.

Copper Rock opened in 2020 and has the highest men's Course Rating in the St. George area: 75.8 from the Copper tees, slope 146. It hosted the LPGA's Epson Tour event from 2021 to 2026. It publishes no public rack rate.

The Hurricane and Sand Hollow golf guide covers this cluster in more depth.

The Mesquite courses (about 50 minutes down I-15)

Mesquite, Nevada, is part of most St. George golf trips because it sits right on I-15 between Las Vegas and St. George. It runs on Pacific time, one hour behind Utah.

Wolf Creek is the one people drive for: Golf Digest has it No. 5 in Nevada and No. 59 on America's 100 Greatest Public Courses. Conestoga is ranked No. 20 in Nevada. For the full picture, see our guide to Mesquite, Nevada golf courses.

Beyond the map: Cedar City and Mount Carmel Junction

Two more Southern Utah courses are worth knowing about, though neither is on the main St. George map. Cedar Ridge is Cedar City's municipal 18 (course guide), about 58 minutes north of downtown St. George up I-15 and at about 5,810 feet. Its posted rates (effective March 1, 2025) were $32 walking or $50 with a cart for 18, flat all year, with tee times 7 days out.

Thunderbird at Mount Carmel Junction is a 9-hole, par-31 course run with the Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge, almost two hours away via Zion. We couldn't confirm it is operating in 2025 or 2026, so call first.

How to choose between St. George golf courses

Three practical filters narrow the list fast:

  1. Budget. The four city courses, Green Spring, Sky Mountain and SunRiver all sat under $120 for 18 when we checked. Black Desert, Sand Hollow, The Ledges and Wolf Creek can run $250 or more in peak season.
  2. Time of year. Most courses close for two to four weeks in September and early October to overseed. In 2026 the city courses closed in turn between September 8 and October 6. Check dates before you book a fall trip.
  3. Booking window. It ranges from 14 days at the city courses and Green Spring to 180 days at Sand Hollow. Spring weekend mornings at the resort courses sell out early.
