Mesquite winter golf is quiet, cheaper and comfortable by midday. December and January afternoons average about 60 to 62°F, but mornings are frosty, with normal lows around 32 to 33°F, so the best rounds start mid-morning. Rates drop from fall levels at most courses, and the tee sheets are lighter than in spring.
Here is what to expect from golf in Mesquite in winter: the weather, the rates seen for 2026 to 2027, how courses run their winter tee sheets, and the time zone detail that catches people every year.
Mesquite winter weather for golf
The figures come from the NOAA station at Beaver Dam, Arizona, about 8 miles from Mesquite, since Mesquite itself has no published 1991 to 2020 normals.
| Month | Normal high | Normal low | Rain | Rain days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| November | 71.8°F | 40.2°F | 0.45 in | 2.9 |
| December | 60.2°F | 31.9°F | 0.83 in | 4.7 |
| January | 61.7°F | 33.0°F | 0.88 in | 5.1 |
| February | 66.1°F | 35.9°F | 1.20 in | 5.6 |
February is technically the wettest month, but that is still only about 1.2 inches. The real winter factor is the cold start. With lows right around freezing, the first tee times can be held for frost, and once one group is delayed everyone behind them moves back. Mesquite does run several degrees warmer than St. George in winter.

Winter tee times run late and in blocks
Several courses change how they sell tee times in winter:
- CasaBlanca: the online inventory in winter is a 10:00 AM block and a 3:06 PM shotgun-start block.
- Palms: a 10:00 AM block and, on some days, a 3:06 PM block.
- Conestoga: the 2026 rate sheet shows 10 AM shotgun starts from Nov 22 to Dec 31, with no twilight.
- Wolf Creek: split-tee starts and no twilight last winter.
- Coyote Springs: only mid-morning times (about 9:20 to 11:30 AM) showed online for Nov 30 to Jan 21.
The upshot: in winter, plan one round a day starting mid-morning, and don't count on a dawn start to squeeze in a second. Short days also cap twilight golf; CasaBlanca and the Palms showed no separate twilight block from late November.
Winter green fees, seen October 2026
Prices change, and these are the rates on the booking engines for winter 2026 to 2027 when checked on October 23, 2026, unless noted.
| Course | Winter rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Wolf Creek | not posted for 2026 - 27 | Last winter: $200 (Dec 8, 2025 - Jan 14, 2026), $230 (Jan 15 - Feb 4) |
| Conestoga | $145 - $220 published | Live sheet showed $287 for the few open times Nov 26 - Dec 16 |
| Falcon Ridge | $145 mornings | $95 from about 11:40 AM, $80 from 1 PM, $72.50 from 2 PM |
| CasaBlanca | $130 | $140 on Dec 1; late Nov through Jan 21, 2027 |
| Palms | $109 | Shown as $108.90 in January |
| Oasis Palmer / Canyons | $155 mornings | $105 from noon |
| Coyote Springs | $119 Mon - Thu, $130 Fri and Sun, $137 Sat | Nov 30 - Jan 21; may be base rates before dynamic pricing |
| Coyote Willows (9 holes) | $50 for 9 in fall | Winter prices not loaded yet (30-day window) |
Wolf Creek is the interesting one. Last season's $200 rack from Dec 8 to Jan 14 was the cheapest window for the full Wolf Creek experience, against $390 to $420 on spring weekends. The 2026 to 27 winter rates had not been posted when checked. Read the Wolf Creek course guide for the tees, and pick them honestly: the tips slope 147.
Conestoga is the opposite case. Its published winter band is $145 to $220, but the live sheet in late October showed few open public times for late November and December, at $287. If you want Conestoga in winter, book the moment your date opens in its 55-day window.
Winter course notes
- Wolf Creek opened its remodeled clubhouse, Terrace restaurant and pro shop in early October 2026. The Terrace serves breakfast and lunch daily and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays from October to June (4 to 8 PM). With split-tee starts in winter, a frost delay moves everyone back.
- Coyote Springs showed flat online rates of $119 on weekdays for December and January, well below its fall prices of about $140 to $214. It is about an hour from Mesquite, and its greens are bentgrass rather than bermuda.
- Falcon Ridge has brand-new greens on holes 10 to 18 (replaced summer 2026), and its winter afternoon tiers ($95, $80, $72.50) are some of the cheapest 18-hole golf in town.
- CasaBlanca sits low and flat along the Virgin River, and afternoon wind is its main defense. Its 3:06 PM winter shotgun block is the late option, but days are short.
- Coyote Willows, a 9-hole course by the river, is $50 for nine and works as a short-day option.
Winter events: Las Vegas busy, Mesquite quiet
A handful of big Las Vegas weeks fall in winter. They push up Strip hotel prices and LAS rental cars but barely touch Mesquite tee sheets.
- National Finals Rodeo, Dec 3 - 12, 2026. Some rodeo visitors stay in Mesquite and drive in, so Mesquite casino hotels can be busier than usual in early December.
- Thanksgiving (Nov 26, 2026) and the Christmas to New Year weeks. CasaBlanca showed no online times on Thanksgiving, and the Palms none on Dec 20 and Dec 25.
- CES, Jan 6 - 9, 2027. Book any Vegas night and your rental car early that week.
- Mesquite Hot Air Balloon Festival, a late-January weekend at CasaBlanca (Jan 23 - 25 in 2026; 2027 dates not yet published). A modest bump in Mesquite resort occupancy.
CasaBlanca also runs resort tournaments that block its tee sheet: the Gobbler Classic on Nov 22 and Swing with Santa on Dec 20, 2026.
The winter time zone catch
Mesquite is on Pacific Time. The Arizona side of the line, including Littlefield (home of the Palms) and Beaver Dam, keeps Mountain Standard Time all year. From Nov 1, 2026 to Mar 14, 2027, that makes Arizona one hour ahead of Mesquite.
So in winter an Arizona phone clock can read an hour ahead of your tee time, and phones near the line can pick up an Arizona or Utah tower and show the wrong time. Which clock the Palms and Beaver Dam Lodge tee sheets use in winter was not verified, so ask when you book. St. George is one hour ahead of Mesquite all year. Our Mesquite time zone guide covers it in detail.
Winter hotel rates
Mesquite rooms are cheap in December and January. Rates seen October 2026 on the official booking engines, before tax:
| Hotel | Sun - Thu | Fri - Sat |
|---|---|---|
| Virgin River Casino & Lodge (Dec 2026 - Jan 2027) | $46.80 | $66.60 - $111.60 |
| CasaBlanca (Dec 2026) | $102.09 | $125.49 - $134.49 |
| CasaBlanca (Jan 2027) | $111.09 | $152.49 - $188.49 |
CasaBlanca's calendar figures for this period appear to already include its $12.99 resort fee; Virgin River charges none. Weekends cost much more at both, so a Sunday-to-Thursday trip saves the most.
Who winter golf in Mesquite suits
Winter suits snowbirds and anyone escaping real cold, golfers who don't mind a 10 AM start, and anyone who wants Mesquite's ranked courses with fewer people on them. It is less suited to groups who want 36 holes a day, since short days and late starts make that hard. Canadians staying the season should read Canadian snowbird golf in Mesquite.
If you are staying for weeks rather than days, read Mesquite snowbird golf. Peak rates arrive at several courses in February (Wolf Creek's 2026 peak started Feb 27, Conestoga's Feb 10), and March is the busiest month of the year; see Mesquite golf in March. Plan it on the map
The Mesquite golf map shows every course with its fees, tees and drive times, including which courses sit on the Arizona side of the line. Use it to line up mid-morning tee times close to your hotel.
