What is the weather like for golf in Mesquite in January?
| Month | Normal high | Normal low | Rain | Rain days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| December | 60.2F | 31.9F | 0.83 in | 4.7 |
| January | 61.7F | 33.0F | 0.88 in | 5.1 |
| February | 66.1F | 35.9F | 1.20 in | 5.6 |
These are NOAA 1991-2020 normals from Beaver Dam, Arizona, about 8 miles northeast; Mesquite sits slightly lower and may run a degree or so warmer, which is an estimate. January is the coolest stretch of the year along with December. Mornings are frosty, so first tee times can be held, and afternoons in the low 60s are the best part of the day. Mesquite runs several degrees warmer than St. George in winter, which is why so many Utah golfers drive down; the St. George winter golf guide covers the other side.
The courses are on overseeded rye from fall, so fairways are green even though the bermuda underneath is dormant.
How much does golf in Mesquite in January cost?
| Course | Morning | Afternoon | Notes |

| Palms | $108.90 | No separate twilight block | 10:00 AM block, some days a 3:06 PM block |
| CasaBlanca | $130 | No separate twilight block | 10:00 AM block and a 3:06 PM shotgun block; priced only to Jan 21 |
| Falcon Ridge | $145 | $95 from ~11:40 AM, $80 from 1 PM, $72.50 from 2 PM | Sampled to Jan 30, 2027 |
| Oasis Palmer and Canyons | $155 | $105 from noon | Jan 12, 2027 sample |

| Wolf Creek | 2026-27 not posted | No twilight in winter | Last season $200 (to Jan 14) and $230 (Jan 15 to Feb 4) |
| Conestoga | 2027 sheet not posted | No winter twilight | 2026 sheet: $145 to $220 (Jan 1 to Feb 9) |
A few notes:
- CasaBlanca Golf Club (course guide) and Palms are both Mesquite Gaming courses on the same booking engine. On October 23 the tee sheet showed times into late February 2027 but priced them only through January 21, so late-January rates were not yet visible.
- Falcon Ridge (course guide) is the best January value if you like a later start. Its online rates step down three times in the afternoon, and finishing 18 is not guaranteed on the late tiers. The back-nine greens are new for the 2026-27 season.
- Oasis Palmer and Oasis Canyons share prices. Clark County, Nevada and Washington County, Utah residents get a resident rate that is not published; call 702-346-7820.
- Wolf Creek has been cheapest in winter. Last season's $200 rack (December 8 to January 14) was the lowest price for the full Wolf Creek experience, with split-tee starts and no twilight. This season's figures were not posted when checked.
- Conestoga prices are dynamic and the live sheet ran above the published bands in late 2026, with few open public times in November and December.
- Coyote Springs (course guide) showed a flat winter rate and only mid-morning times (about 9:20 to 11:30 AM), so these may be base rates before dynamic pricing.
Frost delays and the best tee times in January
With normal lows around 33F, January is the month when first tee times are most likely to be held. Plan around it:
- Book mid-morning. A 10 AM start lands you in the warmest part of the day. CasaBlanca and Palms already sell their winter inventory as a 10:00 AM block.
- Expect knock-on delays at Wolf Creek. It uses split-tee starts in winter, so when frost holds the first groups, everyone moves back.
- Use the afternoon tiers. Falcon Ridge's $95, $80 and $72.50 times and Oasis's $105 from noon suit golfers who would rather skip the cold start, but days are short, so a 2 PM start may not finish.
- Carry layers. The spread between the 33F low and the 62F high is about 29 degrees.

Which courses play best in January?
Every 18-hole course in town is open in January, so the choice comes down to start times, wind and budget.
- CasaBlanca is low, flat and along the Virgin River at about 1,560 feet, and its main defense is afternoon wind. Its 10:00 AM block suits a frosty month.
- Palms gives the most golf for the money at $108.90: a wide, palm-lined front nine and a canyon back nine with big elevation changes. Remember that in January its Arizona phone clock reads one hour ahead of Mesquite.
- Oasis Palmer is the friendlier of the two Oasis courses and has eight sets of tees; the Canyons is rated harder. The shared range closes about four hours before sunset on Wednesdays and Sundays, which bites hardest in short January days.
- Wolf Creek is the bucket-list round, and winter has been its cheapest window. Allow 5-plus hours, so a midday start in January is a risk.
- Coyote Springs sits higher, at about 2,316 feet, on year-round rye and bentgrass, with frequent valley wind. Book the mid-morning times and allow about an hour each way.
- The nines: Coyote Willows was $50 for nine in fall 2026, but its 30-day online window means January dates open only from early December. Beaver Dam Lodge, nine par 3s in Arizona, listed November to February tee times from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM Arizona time on a page last updated for 2021-22, and its 2026 operation is not confirmed, so call 928-347-2222.
If you are coming for a month or more, mix the cheaper afternoon tiers with one or two full-price mornings. Snowbirds who play three or four times a week get the most out of Falcon Ridge's and Oasis's afternoon rates.
