Guide emblem: Mesquite golf weather by month: temperatures, rain and what each month means for your round

Mesquite golf weather by month runs from frosty-morning winters (highs about 60°F in December) to extreme summers (about 109°F in July), with almost no rain at any time of year. March and November are the sweet spots for weather, and September is shaped more by course overseed closures than by the heat.

Below is the full month-by-month table, then a short note on what each month means for golf in Mesquite: tee times, turf conditions and rates.

Where these numbers come from

Mesquite has no published 1991 to 2020 climate normals of its own. The figures here are NOAA normals for the co-op station at Beaver Dam, Arizona, about 8 miles northeast of Mesquite. Mesquite sits slightly lower, around 1,600 feet, so it may run a degree or so warmer; that is an estimate, not a measured figure.

"Rain days" means the average number of days with at least 0.01 inch of precipitation. No long-term wind record was found for Mesquite, so there is no wind column.

Month by month

January

Low 60s in the afternoon, lows around 33°F. The first tee times can be held for frost, but afternoons are pleasant. Winter rates are in place at most courses. Late January brings the Mesquite Hot Air Balloon Festival at CasaBlanca. For a closer look at single months, see golf in Mesquite in January and golf in Mesquite in April.

February

Mid-60s afternoons, and the wettest month, though that is still only about 1.2 inches. Snowbird season builds and several courses switch to peak rates during the month: Conestoga's 2026 peak started Feb 10 and Wolf Creek's Feb 27.

March

Mid-70s days and cool mornings: the best weather of the year and the busiest tee sheets. Spring breaks, Easter (Mar 28, 2027) and Las Vegas basketball tournaments all land in March. Book weekend tee times and rooms early. Our Mesquite golf in March guide has the details.

April

Low 80s and dry. Still prime golf and still peak rates until late April or early May. Mesquite Days, the town's main festival, runs over late April and early May.

May

Low 90s by afternoon and nearly rainless. Rates step down through the month; in 2026 Wolf Creek went from $310 to $275 to $225 in stages (seen on the 2025 to 26 rate page). A good-value window for early tee times before real summer heat.

June

Highs around 104°F. Summer rates arrive and tee sheets thin out. Play at dawn and be off the course by early afternoon. Some courses close for short summer aerations in June or July (in 2026, Oasis Canyons Jun 15-22 and Oasis Palmer Jun 29-Jul 6).

July

The hottest month, about 109°F highs and 74°F lows. The cheapest golf of the year, dawn tee times only. See Mesquite summer golf for rates and heat tips.

August

Still about 107°F, with a few monsoon thunderstorm days bringing lightning and gusty wind. Late in the month some courses start drying out their turf ahead of overseed. Wolf Creek closed Aug 30 in 2026.

September

Near 100°F early in the month, easing later. The weather is not the main story: most courses close in turn for overseed, and on the 2026 dates (2025 for CasaBlanca and Palms) there was a stretch of about Sep 14 to 26 with no 18-hole course in Mesquite open. Coyote Springs, about an hour away, does not overseed. The September overseed guide has every date.

October

Mid-80s highs and mild nights. Courses reopen on fresh rye in the first week or so, sometimes cart-path-only for a few days, and fall peak rates start. Early October also brings St. George events (the Huntsman World Senior Games, the St. George Marathon) that tighten hotels across the area. More in Mesquite golf in October.

November

Low 70s and dry: ideal golf with good conditions and fall rates. Busy, but less crowded than March. The Nevada Open is held at CasaBlanca and the Palms in early November, which limits those two tee sheets that week. Daylight saving ends Nov 1, 2026, and from then until mid-March the Arizona side of the line is one hour ahead of Mesquite.

December

Low 60s in the afternoon and frosty mornings, with lows around 32°F. Mid-morning and midday tee times, short days and winter rates. Las Vegas has the National Finals Rodeo (Dec 3 to 12, 2026), which affects Vegas hotels much more than Mesquite tee sheets.

Wind, heat and other weather notes

  • Wind. There is no monthly wind data, but the course notes are consistent: CasaBlanca is low, flat and windy along the Virgin River, with afternoon wind as its main defense, and Coyote Springs gets frequent valley wind (one May 2026 review reported 36 to 45 mph gusts). Morning rounds are usually calmer.
  • Frost. From December through February, lows sit in the 30s. Expect frost holds on the earliest tee times.
  • Monsoon. July and August bring a few thunderstorm days with lightning and gusty wind; plan to finish early.
  • Summer heat. Nights stay at 65 to 74°F from June to August, so mornings warm up fast. Carry more water than you think you need.

Picking a month for your golf trip

If weather is your only concern, March and November are the best months for a Mesquite golf trip, with April and October close behind. If price matters most, summer is cheapest and winter is a good compromise. If you want the newest turf, go in the second half of October once the courses have reopened. And unless your plans hinge on Coyote Springs, avoid mid-September.
