The key number: Mesquite summer golf: how to handle the heat and grab the year's lowest rates

Mesquite summer golf is hot, cheap and early. Normal highs run about 104°F in June, 109°F in July and 107°F in August, so rounds start at first light and finish before the early-afternoon peak. In exchange you get the lowest green fees of the year, open tee sheets and low hotel rates.

This guide covers what summer actually feels like on the course, what the courses charged, which weeks they close for aeration, and how to plan a Mesquite golf trip around the heat.

How hot Mesquite gets in summer

Mesquite has no published long-term climate normals of its own, so these figures come from the NOAA station at Beaver Dam, Arizona, about 8 miles northeast. Mesquite sits slightly lower and may run a degree or so warmer.

Month Normal high Normal low Rain Rain days
May92.5°F57.9°F0.28 in2.4
June104.0°F65.0°F0.16 in1.1
July109.0°F73.8°F0.38 in3.0
August107.0°F73.3°F0.44 in3.2
September99.9°F64.1°F0.34 in2.5

Two things stand out. First, the lows: 74°F at dawn in July means the morning is warm from the first tee. Second, July and August bring a few monsoon thunderstorm days with lightning and gusty wind. They are not frequent, but they come up fast in the afternoon, which is one more reason to be done early.

Summer green fees in Mesquite

Summer is the cheapest window at most courses. These are the rates on file, with the dates they were seen. Rates change and many 2027 summer rates were not posted yet.

Course Summer price When seen
Conestoga$80 - $120 public (Jun 22 - Aug 30, 2026)2026 rate sheet; 2027 not posted
Oasis Palmer / Oasis Canyons$120 (Jun 15, Jul 13, Aug 10, 2027)seen Oct 11, 2026
Falcon Ridge$110 before noon, $85 noon to 12:50 PM, $50 from 1 PM (Jun 1 - 7, 2027)seen Oct 23, 2026
Wolf Creek$225 (May 20 - Jun 15, 2026); later 2026 not posted2025 - 26 rate page
Coyote Springsnot published-

Conestoga is the standout. It is ranked #20 in Nevada by Golf Digest and charges $205 to $300 in spring and fall, so $80 to $120 for summer is the best value in Mesquite for a ranked course if you go off at first light. Sun City Mesquite residents pay $60 in summer, but that rate is for residents of the community only. The Conestoga course guide has the tees and the rest of the rate sheet.

At Oasis Canyons, GolfNow "Hot Deals" in summer 2026 ran about $81 to $110 with cart, often the cheapest way onto a quality Mesquite course in the heat.

CasaBlanca and the Palms had no summer rates on file; their online prices were loaded only through Jan 21, 2027 when checked. Reviewers in August 2026 called the Palms very dry.

Summer tee sheets stop early

The low rates come with a catch: you do not get the whole day. Oasis's online tee sheet showed summer times only to about 12:30 PM, with no afternoon times shown. Conestoga has no twilight rate from Jun 22 to Aug 30, and the summer replays at Coyote Springs (May 26 to Aug 31) must be off the course by 5 PM. Afternoon rates by course are in the twilight golf Mesquite guide.

Falcon Ridge is the exception on file: for early June 2027 it listed times from 1 PM at $50. That is cheap golf, but a 1 PM start in June means playing through the hottest part of the day.

Aeration closures in summer

Courses take short summer closures to aerate. Check these before you book a specific day. The 2026 dates on file:

  • Oasis Canyons: closed Jun 15, reopened Jun 22.
  • Oasis Palmer: closed Jun 29, reopened Jul 6.
  • Conestoga: fairways aerated Jun 15 and Jul 20; greens Jun 22 - 23 and Jul 27 - 28.
  • CasaBlanca: aerification Jun 22 (via Golf Zoo).
  • Falcon Ridge: replaced the greens on holes 10 to 18 from Jun 15 to Sep 6, 2026, playing the front nine twice for 18 holes. That was a one-off project; the new greens are in place for 2027.

Because the two Oasis courses aerate on different weeks, one of them was open through each of those closures in 2026.

Late summer has its own issue. From late August, courses start drying out their bermuda ahead of fall overseed, and by early September most begin closing in turn. Our September overseed guide has the dates.

How to play golf in Mesquite in the heat

The data on file says it plainly: book the first tee times, carry far more water than you think, use carts, and plan to finish before the early-afternoon peak. A few specifics:

  • Take the first time on the sheet. At 74°F lows, a 6 AM start is the coolest part of your day.
  • Ride. Wolf Creek is cart-only in practice anyway, and every course in town includes or offers carts. Coyote Springs stocks its cart coolers with ice and water.
  • Plan for the long courses. Wolf Creek says rounds will likely exceed five hours. In July that can push a dawn start into midday. A shorter course like Oasis Palmer (recommended pace 4:30) or Falcon Ridge is easier on a summer morning.
  • Watch the sky in July and August. Monsoon storms bring lightning and gusty wind.
  • Fuel and water before driving in. If you are coming from Las Vegas, services are sparse between the north valley and Mesquite.

If you are thinking of 36 holes, summer is the hardest season to do it. Read 36 holes a day in Mesquite before you try.

Time zones in summer

Summer is the easy season for clocks. Mesquite is on Pacific Time, and from mid-March to early November it shows the same time as the Arizona side (Littlefield and Beaver Dam), which keeps Mountain Standard Time all year. So a Palms tee time in July needs no adjustment. St. George, Utah is always one hour ahead of Mesquite.

Summer hotel rates

Rooms drop along with green fees. Rates seen October 2026 for summer 2027 dates, before tax:

Hotel Midweek Fri - Sat
Virgin River Casino & Lodge (Jun - Jul 2027)$48.60 - $50.40$75.60 - $84.60
CasaBlanca (Jul - Aug 2027)$107.10$121.50 - $157.50

Virgin River charges no resort fee. CasaBlanca adds a $12.99 nightly resort fee, and its summer figures appear to exclude it. Virgin River is about 3 minutes from the Oasis courses and 5 from Wolf Creek, which suits a dawn start. See Mesquite golf hotels for the full list.

Who summer golf in Mesquite suits

Summer works for golfers who are happy to be on the first tee at dawn and done by lunch, who want a ranked course like Conestoga at a fraction of its spring price, and who don't need afternoon golf. It does not suit 36-hole days, groups who like a slow lunch between nines, or anyone who struggles in heat.

If you can move your dates, May is a good middle ground: low 90s by afternoon, nearly rainless, with rates stepping down through the month (Wolf Creek fell from $310 to $275 to $225 in May 2026). The best time to golf in Mesquite guide compares every season.

Plan it on the map

The Mesquite golf map shows every course with its fees, closure and aeration dates, and drive times from each hotel. Use it to pair a dawn tee time with a hotel a few minutes away.
