Courses west to east: A 5-Day Mesquite Golf Trip, with Coyote Springs on the Way Home

A 5 day Mesquite golf trip gives you room for Wolf Creek, both Oasis courses and Conestoga from one hotel in town, then a final round at Coyote Springs on the drive back to Las Vegas. Coyote Springs is about an hour from Mesquite and about an hour from the Strip, so playing it on the way out adds a round without adding a separate day trip.

Drive times below are free-flow road estimates from a central Mesquite hotel (Eureka Casino Resort), not live traffic. Fees were seen in October 2026 for late-October and November dates and change by day, time and season. For a shorter or longer stay, there is a four-day Mesquite itinerary and a full Mesquite golf week itinerary with a rest day.

Day 3 or 4 can swap for Palms or Falcon Ridge to save money; see the swap table below.

Day 1: arrive from Las Vegas, Oasis Palmer in the afternoon

From the LAS Rent-A-Car Center, the free-flow estimate to Mesquite is about 97 minutes and 91 miles up I-15. The slow part is getting through Las Vegas; after the north valley it is open desert with few services. The Salt Lake Express shuttle also runs LAS to Mesquite in 1 hour 25 minutes, but you will want your own car for Coyote Springs on day 5. More on that drive in Las Vegas to Mesquite golf.

Play the Palmer course at Oasis in the afternoon. It is short (6,442 yards from the Black tees, 71.5/138, par 71) but precise, with canyon carries and no-entry environmental areas on #5 through #8. The online rate in October 2026 was $190 in the morning and $130 from about 1 PM.

Day 2: Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek is Golf Digest's #5 course in Nevada and #59 on its America's 100 Greatest Public Courses list (2025-26). Book a morning: the live engine showed $360 weekdays and $390 weekends for late-October 2026 mornings, and $310 from about 1:10 PM, but the club warns rounds will most likely exceed five hours and twilight groups often do not finish.

Play the Champions (6,153 yards, 71.1/140) or Masters (5,683 yards, 69.0/133) tees unless you are a genuine low single-digit player; the Challenger tees are 147 slope with a 155 back nine. The Wolf Creek course guide has the holes.

Day 3: Oasis Canyons

Canyons is the harder Oasis course. The Druzisky front nine plays like the Palmer, and the Palmer-designed back nine (the original 1995 "Vistas" nine) demands carries to narrow targets. From the Blue tees it is 6,317 yards and 71.0/137. Same clubhouse, same prices and the same no-denim dress code as the Palmer.

Oasis public golfers can book 60 days out, or 180 days with a stay-and-play package. Recommended pace is 4 hours 30 minutes. If you want a few more holes in the afternoon, the 9-hole Coyote Willows was $50 for nine on its October and November 2026 sheet, 8 minutes from Eureka.

Day 4: Conestoga

Conestoga, the Gary Panks course in Sun City Mesquite, is Golf Digest's #20 in Nevada. The front nine is the dramatic side, including #4 "The Fence Hole," where the fairway drops 25 feet off a cliff. The 2026 public band was $205 to $300 for spring and fall, but the live sheet showed $315 to $318 on some late-October 2026 days and $287 for Nov 4 to 10. The cart and range balls are included.

This is the hardest tee time in the plan to get. The public window is 55 days, and many November and December days showed no open public times when checked in late October. Book it the day your date opens, or use the Noteefy waitlist.

Day 5: Coyote Springs on the way to the airport

Coyote Springs is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course on NV-168 in Clark County, ranked #11 in Nevada by Golf Digest and #2 on its 2008 Best New Public Courses list (behind Chambers Bay). There is no hotel and there are no homes on site, so it works best as a round you drive to. For how it compares with the big round in town, see Wolf Creek vs Coyote Springs.

From Mesquite you take I-15 south and then NV-168, without touching US-93. Google Maps gave 54 minutes and 55.5 miles from central Mesquite on 2026-10-23; a free-flow router estimate gives 69 minutes and the club says 45 minutes. From the course to the Strip, Google gave 56 minutes going south on US-93. So a 9:00 AM tee time, a 4.5-hour round (the club's average) and lunch at Mitch's Bar & Grill can still get you to Las Vegas by mid-afternoon.

What to know:

  • Fees. On GolfNow, late October to Nov 29, 2026 ran $123 to $214 with cart, most days $140 to $190, with Fridays and Saturdays at the top. From Nov 30 to Jan 21, 2027 the sheet showed a flat $119 Monday to Thursday, $130 Friday and Sunday and $137 Saturday.
  • Tees. The Black tees are 7,471 yards at 76.8/149. The Blue (6,807, 72.8/144) or White (6,215, 70.6/139) tees are the right call for most players.
  • No rides. The club advises against Uber or Lyft because rides out are hard to get. Fill the tank in Mesquite.
  • No outside coolers, but carts come with ice and water.
  • Wind. Golf Digest notes frequent valley wind; mornings are usually calmer.
  • Same clock. Coyote Springs is on Pacific Time, like Mesquite and Las Vegas.

If you would rather fly out early, flip it: play Coyote Springs on day 1 on the way in from Las Vegas, and end the trip with a morning round in Mesquite. Our Coyote Springs golf day trip guide covers the course in full.

Falcon Ridge$203.04 mornings Oct 24-28, $185 Nov 3-18; October twilight $92.50-$1258 minPlateau tees at a friendlier 6,303 yards, new back-nine greens in 2026
CasaBlanca$160 mornings, $130 from Nov 18on property at CasaBlanca ResortFlat river-bottom course, water on 13 holes, Nevada Open host

CasaBlanca and Palms showed no online public times Nov 3 to 7, 2026, around the Nevada Open and a resort tournament, so check the week before you book.

Where to stay for five nights

A central base keeps days 1 to 4 short. From Virgin River Casino & Lodge it is 3 minutes to Oasis, 5 to Wolf Creek and 9 to Conestoga, with rooms from $46.80 midweek and no resort fee (older rooms, smoky casino). Groups of four to six who want a kitchen can look at Masters Villas, two-bedroom villas next to the Oasis range at $200 a night per villa for non-owners when Bonus Time is open, with a golf cart and a garage for clubs. For the full list, see Mesquite golf hotels.

When to plan a 5-day trip

Five-day trips work best from October through May. March is the busiest month and the best weather, with normal highs of 74.5F. Wolf Creek's 2026 peak rate ran from Feb 27 to May 5 at $360 to $420. November has normal highs of 71.8F and fall rates, and is less crowded than March.

In September, most Mesquite courses close in turn for overseed. That is the one month to reverse this plan: base the trip around Coyote Springs, which stays open, and check each Mesquite course's closure dates before booking. See Mesquite golf overseed in September.

For a shorter version, use the 3-day Mesquite golf itinerary. To add St. George, see the Mesquite and St. George split-stay itinerary.

Questions golfers ask

What courses should I play on a 5-day Mesquite golf trip?

A strong five-round list is Oasis Palmer, Wolf Creek, Oasis Canyons, Conestoga and Coyote Springs, with Palms, Falcon Ridge or CasaBlanca as swap-ins. That covers three of Golf Digest's ranked Nevada courses: Wolf Creek (#5), Coyote Springs (#11) and Conestoga (#20).

How far is Coyote Springs from Mesquite?

About 55 miles. Google Maps gave 54 minutes from central Mesquite on 2026-10-23, a free-flow router estimate gives 69 minutes, and the club says 45 minutes. From the Strip, Google gave 56 minutes, which is why it works as the last round on the way back to Las Vegas.

Is Coyote Springs open in September?

Yes. The club says it does not overseed and has no fall greens aerification, because the course is ryegrass and bentgrass all year. That makes it the one 18-hole option in the Mesquite area during the September overseed closures.

How much does a 5-day golf trip to Mesquite cost in green fees?

Using rates seen in October 2026 for late-October and November dates, the five rounds in this plan run roughly $1,000 to $1,250 per player, depending on the day and time. Rates change by season, and 2027 peak rates were mostly not posted when checked.

Can I use Uber to get to Coyote Springs?

The club advises against it, because rides back are hard to find in such a remote spot. Drive yourself and fill the tank in Mesquite, since the route passes only small Moapa Valley settlements.
