A good snowbird golf schedule for Naples runs on three or four rounds a week: book each public course the day its window opens, play your anchor course in the morning, and use twilight rates on the busy days. Rotate between two or three courses near your rental, and add one longer drive a week for variety.
A snowbird golf schedule in Naples has to work around one fact: most golf here is private, and public tee sheets fill fast from January to March, so a fixed routine beats booking ad hoc. This guide shows how booking windows, time-of-day rates and closures shape a weekly rotation, with sample weeks for an East Naples base and an Estero or Fort Myers base. Rates were seen in November 2026; January-April rates are higher at most courses.
Quick facts
- Rounds a week: three or four is a sustainable winter rhythm.
- Shortest windows: Babcock National 3 days, Shell Point 4, the Fort Myers city courses and Stoneybrook 7.
- Longest windows: Saltleaf 90 days, Valencia 30 days online.
- Cheapest slot: twilight, from about 2 pm to 3 pm depending on the course.
- Weekly closure: Cross Creek, Mondays, November to April.
- Tournament weeks: Tiburón Gold (Nov 19-22, Dec 11-13, 2026) and Black (Feb 11-14, 2027).
Booking windows: the backbone of a snowbird golf schedule
| Course | Area | Public booking window | How |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saltleaf Golf Preserve | Bonita Springs | 90 days; cancel 48 hours ahead | TeeItUp |
| Valencia | Naples (east) | 30 days online, 2 days by phone | Club site |
| Stoneybrook | Estero | 1 week (annual passholders 60 days) | foreUP |
| Fort Myers Country Club | Fort Myers | 7 days online, 1 day by phone | foreUP |
| Eastwood | Fort Myers | 7 days online, 1 day by phone | foreUP |
| Ibis Landing | Lehigh Acres | 7 days, released at midnight | Troon |
| Palmetto-Pine | Cape Coral | 7 days | Club site |
| The Dunes | Sanibel | 5 days (members 14) | Club site |
| Shell Point | Fort Myers | 4 days; no fivesomes | Club Caddie |
| Babcock National | Punta Gorda | 3 days | GolfNow or phone |
Windows from club pages read November 3, 2026. Courses such as Lely, Hibiscus, Eagle Lakes and Spanish Wells did not publish a public window in our files, so check when you book.
The practical routine: on Sunday, book the far-out courses for the coming weeks; each morning, book whatever opens that day for a week out. Ibis Landing's times release at midnight seven days ahead, so night owls get first pick.
Time of day: when to play where
Rates drop through the day at most public courses, and the gap is large:
| Course | Morning | Midday | Twilight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fort Myers CC and Eastwood (Nov 2026, with cart, tax incl.) | $70 (7 am-noon) | $55 (noon-3 pm) | $35 after 3 pm; $20 walking |
| Hibiscus (from Nov 1, 2026, plus tax) | $159 (7-12) | $129 (12:04-2) | $99 after 2:04 pm |
| Stoneybrook (Nov-Dec 2026, plus tax) | $130 | $99 | $70 |
| Stoneybrook (Jan-Apr 2027, plus tax) | $199 | $170 | $105 |
| Ibis Landing (Nov-Dec 2026, plus tax) | $99+ | $89+ (noon-3 pm) | $69+ after 3 pm |
| Eagle Lakes (Nov-Dec 2026) | $89-$109 | $55 from 2:30 pm |
So a value-minded week mixes two morning rounds at your anchor course with one or two twilight rounds elsewhere. In early December, sunset is around 5:40 pm, so a 3 pm start may not finish 18; Hibiscus says its twilight rate has no 18-hole guarantee.
Sample week from an East Naples base
For a rental near Lely, Glen Eagle or the Collier Blvd RV parks.
| Day | Round | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Lely Flamingo Island, morning | The tougher Lely course (75.3/140 from the tips) on fresh legs |
| Tuesday | Off or practice | Range at Lely or Eagle Lakes |
| Wednesday | Eagle Lakes, twilight | $55 from 2:30 pm in fall 2026 |
| Thursday | Lely Mustang, morning | Same tee sheet as Flamingo Island |
| Friday | Off | Rest day |
| Saturday | Hibiscus, twilight | Last public season; 20% off with the Frequent Player Card |
| Sunday | Valencia or a Saltleaf day trip | Booked weeks ahead on the long windows |
Valencia lets juniors 15 and under play free with a paying adult, so it is the grandkids' day. See the Eagle Lakes course guide and the East Naples golf guide.
Sample week from an Estero or south Fort Myers base
For a rental or RV site in Estero, Bonita or near RSW.
| Day | Round | Why |

Adjusting the rotation through the winter
- November and early December: the best weather and lower rates. Eagle Lakes posted a $55 twilight rate for November-December; The Dunes on Sanibel was $69 from November 1-15.
- Christmas to New Year: holiday weeks price like peak; play twilight.
- January: the coolest month (about 75F/56F). Bermuda can look off-colour after a cold front, but courses do not close to overseed.
- February and March: the busiest weeks. Spring training from February 19 backs up Daniels Parkway, so keep Fort Myers rounds away from game times, and book every window the day it opens.
- April: many courses step down rates from mid-month as snowbirds leave after Easter (March 28, 2027).
Wind at RSW averages about 7.5 to 8 mph from November to April and is highest in March, which matters on open, watery courses like Stoneybrook.
A snowbird golf schedule for couples and mixed groups
If one partner plays less, or visiting family joins for a week, swap in friendlier rounds. Saltleaf has no sand bunkers at all and wide corridors, and its walking-only Leaf par-3 nine makes an easy add-on after the 18 (GolfPass cited $30 for players already on the big course, in 2024). Valencia's free junior golf with a paying adult suits grandparent weeks. An executive nine such as Hunter's Run, listed at $20, is a low-stakes outing for a beginner. Keep the hard courses, such as Stoneybrook from the 7,314-yard Champions tees, for your own morning rounds.
Tips that keep the schedule working
- Stay close. January-April traffic on I-75 and US 41 can add 15 to 45 minutes.
- Learn the cancellation rules. Saltleaf 48 hours, Spanish Wells and Eagle Lakes 24 hours (48 for 8+ at Eagle Lakes).
- Expect pairing. Eagle Lakes may shift singles and twosomes up to 8 minutes to make foursomes.
- Anchor with a pass if one course gets two rounds a week; see golf passes in Naples and Fort Myers.

Questions golfers ask
How often do snowbirds golf in Naples?
Most build a rotation of three or four rounds a week around a few public courses near their rental. The short booking windows at public courses, often 7 days or less, make a fixed weekly routine easier than booking ad hoc.
When should I book tee times for a weekly rotation?
On the day each window opens. The Fort Myers city courses open online 7 days ahead, Stoneybrook one week, Shell Point 4 days and Babcock National 3 days. Saltleaf opens 90 days out and Valencia 30 days online, so book those at the start of your stay.
What is the cheapest time of day to play in Naples?
Twilight. In November 2026, the Fort Myers city courses dropped to $35 with cart after 3 pm (or $20 walking), Eagle Lakes was $55 from 2:30 pm, and Hibiscus was $99 after 2:04 pm against $159 in the morning.
Are any courses closed on certain days in winter?
Cross Creek Country Club in Fort Myers is closed Mondays from November 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. Hunter's Run in Cape Coral has posted open-play hours each day around its leagues. Tiburón's courses close for tournament weeks in November, December and February.
Should I play mornings or afternoons in winter?
Mornings are cooler (January dawns are about 56F at Naples) and more expensive. Afternoons are warm, cheaper and usually dry in winter, with only 4 to 6 rain days a month from November to April, though sunset around 5:40 pm in early December cuts twilight rounds short.
Does a weekly rotation need a golf pass?
Not always, but it helps if one course is your anchor. Eagle Lakes sold a 24-round fall pass for $1,200 plus $25 cart per round, and Coral Oaks an annual season pass for $2,090 single with cart paid each round.
