Stoneybrook: the one public Estero golf course

Stoneybrook is a Gordon Lewis and Jed Azinger course from 1999 that runs through a residential community near I-75 and Coconut Point. It is long and watery, and from the 7,314-yard Champions tees its 75.6/143 rating makes it one of the stiffest public tests in the area. The club reports new greens in 2010 and newer tees and fairways, and it holds a "beginner friendly" certification. Practice is a lighted facility of about 30 stations, per GolfLink.

Stoneybrook for snowbirds

A winter in Estero changes the maths. At the January-April morning rate of $199, the $12,000 single annual pass equals about 60 peak-season rounds, before counting the November-December and summer rounds it also covers and the cart fees it waives. For a couple, $20,000 equals about 100 morning rounds at the peak rate. A golfer playing three or four times a week from January to April gets close to that; a two-month visitor does not, and should ask about the in-season monthly option instead, which is priced by phone.

The 60-day booking window matters as much as the price. Public golfers book only a week out, and in season the best morning times go first. Passholders also get three free guest rounds a month, useful when family visits.

Stoneybrook passes

For long stays, Stoneybrook sells annual passes at $12,000 single and $20,000 couple plus tax, with no cart fees, a 60-day booking window, range access and three free guest rounds a month. Range-only passes are $220 for a month, $450 for three, $600 for six and $1,000 a year. In-season and off-season monthly golf options exist, priced by phone. The Brooks: four private courses

The Brooks sits on the Estero and Bonita Springs line, and its clubs carry Bonita Springs addresses. It has three clubs and four courses, all private for members and accompanied guests:

  • Shadow Wood Country Club: North, a Robert E. Cupp design, and South.
  • Copperleaf: a Gordon Lewis course.
  • Spring Run: Gordon Lewis, renovated by Sanford Golf Design.

Private Estero golf courses: Pelican Sound, West Bay and the rest

None of these sells public tee times; you play as a member's guest. See private golf clubs in Naples.

Old Corkscrew: closed

Old Corkscrew Golf Club has officially concluded daily golf. The Hoffmann Family of Cos. bought it in 2022 for $14.5 million, and the site is being rebuilt as The Pandion Club, a golf-only private club planned for about 280 members on a new Kyle Phillips course of about 7,100 to 7,220 yards. Groundbreaking was targeted for summer 2026, with an opening in fall or late 2027. Older maps and listings still show it, but there is no public golf there. More in closed golf courses in Naples.
