Naples

Naples is where the famous names are, and almost all of them are private: 59 of 71 records. The public courses are Lely Flamingo Island and Lely Mustang at Lely Resort, Eagle Lakes, Hibiscus (public until April 2027), ArrowHead and Valencia out east. Five courses take resort guests: Tiburón Gold and Tiburón Black for the two Ritz-Carltons, LaPlaya Golf Club for LaPlaya, and the Rookery at Marco and Hammock Bay for the JW Marriott Marco Island.

Eagle Lakes posted $89 to $109 for November and December 2026 and a $55 twilight rate; see the Eagle Lakes course guide. The split between the two halves of town is covered in North Naples golf and golf courses in East Naples.

Bonita Springs

Bonita has one standout public course and a ring of private clubs. Saltleaf Golf Preserve, the former Raptor Bay, was rebuilt without sand bunkers and books 90 days ahead. Beside it, The Leaf is a walking-only par-3 nine. Spanish Wells sells public times on its 27 holes, and Bonita Fairways is a par-61 executive whose summer 2026 GolfNow deals ran $28 to $33. Private clubs include Bonita Bay Club and The Nest. More in Bonita Springs golf.

Estero

Estero is almost all private, with one strong exception. Stoneybrook is a public course rated 75.6/143 from 7,314 yards, with a published 2026-27 card of $130 before noon in November and December and $199 from January to April. The rest, from Pelican Sound to the three clubs at The Brooks, are for members and their guests. Old Corkscrew has ended daily golf and is becoming a private club. See Estero golf courses.

Fort Myers

Fort Myers has the most bookable golf on the map. The city owns Fort Myers Country Club, a 1917 Donald Ross course, and Eastwood, over 7,100 yards; both posted $70 with cart before noon and $35 after 3pm for November 2026, booked 7 days ahead on foreUP. See the Fort Myers Country Club course guide. Semi-private options include Shell Point, San Carlos, Eagle Ridge and three par-60 executives. Hideaway Country Club takes the public only from May to October. Details in Fort Myers golf courses.

Cape Coral

Cape Coral's four courses are all bookable. The city's Coral Oaks rates 73.0/138 from 6,623 yards and charged $90 in January 2026, $65 for Cape Coral residents. Palmetto-Pine takes public times 7 days out, Cape Royal sells 27 holes, and Hunter's Run is a nine-hole executive. The Coral Oaks course guide has the passes. More in Cape Coral golf courses.

Lehigh Acres

East of Fort Myers and close to RSW, Lehigh Acres is the value corner. Ibis Landing, run by Troon, posted $99 before noon and $69 after 3pm for November-December 2026 with range balls included. The Club at Westminster was regrassed in 2023 and is open to the public all year. Lehigh Resort Club has a nine-hole course with resort-guest discounts. See Lehigh Acres golf.

Islands, the north and the east

  • Sanibel: The Dunes and Sanibel Island Golf Club sell public times; both took damage from Ian, and Sanibel Island Golf Club was still recovering in early 2025. The causeway toll is $6 with a transponder.
  • North Fort Myers and Punta Gorda: Magnolia Landing, long and watery, and Babcock National, which books the public 3 days ahead.
  • Ave Maria: Panther Run, 7,532 yards from the back, about 55 minutes east of Naples.

Private clubs and the routes in

Most Southwest Florida golf is private, and much of it is bundled: golf comes with the house. At Heritage Palms in Fort Myers, all 1,662 owners are members; at Kelly Greens, golf serves members, renters and their guests, with tee times allocated by lottery. That gives a visitor three routes:

  • A member's invitation: the only way into clubs such as Quail West or Wildcat Run.
  • A seasonal rental inside a golf community: at Heritage Bay, one 2026-27 listing charged renters a $600 transfer fee for golf access, with rounds extra. Rules vary by club and unit.
  • Summer: River Hall in Alva says it welcomes outside guests during the summer months.

Where to base

Pick the area that holds most of your tee times:

Room prices split by county: Lee County hotels averaged $230.25 a night from January to March 2026, while Collier County hotels hit $487.60 in February 2026.
