Saltleaf Golf Preserve and The Leaf

Saltleaf is the former Raptor Bay Golf Club, long the course of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. Raymond Floyd, who designed the 2001 original, rebuilt it in 2022-23 after a land swap for the Saltleaf development: holes 11-17 are new, nine holes were repurposed, and the sand bunkers were removed in favour of long rough and sod-wall waste areas. It reopened as Saltleaf around January 2024 and is managed by Troon.

The course is flat and friendly, with raised greens, native rough, wetlands and the wind off Estero Bay as the defence. From the 7,075-yard Black tees it rates only 72.8/126, and the Gold tees play 4,770 yards. The trade-offs: it is pricey in season, and the old range is gone, replaced by a large multi-station warm-up net. Many listings and maps still call it Raptor Bay.

Book on the club's TeeItUp pages (also sold on GolfNow) up to 90 days ahead, with a card, and cancel at least 48 hours out. Rates include pre-round range balls, plus 6.5% tax. The Saltleaf Bar & Grill is open 10am to 5pm. See the Saltleaf course guide and our Saltleaf Golf Preserve guide.

The Leaf is a walking-only par-3 nine built from Raptor Bay's former 10th and 11th holes. GolfPass cited $30 for players already on the 18 in April 2024. It is a good warm-up, a beginner's nine or a family round; see The Leaf course guide.

Spanish Wells

Spanish Wells is a member club in south Bonita, just north of the Collier County line, that sells public tee times on its own site. It has 27 holes in three nines, East, North and South, of about 3,300 yards each, played as three 18-hole combinations, so ask which one you are on. It is flat and mature, managed by Indigo Golf Partners. Pricing is dynamic: the club says the lowest rates are always online, and walk-up and phone rates cost more. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead or you are charged.

Practice includes a range of about 16 stations, lessons at $80 an hour and a Tuesday "Whiff & Wine" clinic at 4pm for $25. Club rentals run $35 for nine and $60 for 18. It is a solid value option when the bigger names are full; see the Spanish Wells course guide.

Bonita Fairways

Bonita Fairways is a public par-61 executive course in central Bonita Springs and the cheapest regulation-hours golf in town. GolfNow hot deals for August 7 and September 10, 2026 tee times were $32.99 and $27.99 with cart; season rates are not published. Its annual Summer Golf Package costs $550 single, $750 couple and $950 family, with free range balls, 7-day advance booking and reciprocal privileges, which suits locals and long-stay snowbirds.

Private Bonita Springs golf courses

Twelve Bonita Springs records are private. Visitors play them as a member's guest; in a few bundled communities, seasonal renters may get privileges under club rules, which were not confirmed.

  • Bonita Bay Club: a member-owned club with five courses. Three are on the Bonita campus: the Arthur Hills Marsh (6,624 yards), Creekside (6,742, opened 1985) and Bay Island (7,006). The other two are at Bonita Bay Club East in Naples.
  • The Nest: formerly Pelican's Nest, two Tom Fazio courses, Gator and Hurricane, inside gated Pelican Landing, with an approachable golf-focused membership.
  • The Colony: a Tom Fazio and Jerry Pate course in Pelican Landing next to the Hyatt; members and accompanied guests only.
  • Bundled communities: Bonita National (73.6/133 from 6,988 yards), where membership is deeded to the home, and Highland Woods, 799 residences with golf included. Renters at Highland Woods and Hunters Ridge may get access under club rules.
  • Members and their guests: Worthington, Vasari and Palmira, whose 27 holes are the Egret, Osprey and Ibis nines.

When to play Bonita Springs golf

Bonita follows the Southwest Florida calendar. January to April is peak season, with the highest fees and the busiest tee sheets, and Saltleaf's opening season showed how wide the swing can be: $229 in November against $349 in February, per GolfPass. November, December and May are the shoulder months. From June to September, rates are lowest, but storms build most afternoons and many courses close for a week or more to aerify; Saltleaf's summer closure dates were not published.

Getting around is simple. Bonita Beach Road crosses the town from I-75 to the beach, and US 41 runs north to Coconut Point and Estero and south to Naples. In season, US 41 has traffic lights all the way through, so I-75 is usually the quicker way to a tee time across the county line. Spanish Wells sits just north of the Collier line, which makes it an easy pairing with a North Naples round.
