All 18 holes: Saltleaf Golf Preserve: the former Raptor Bay rebuilt, rates, the Leaf par 3 and the Hyatt next door

Saltleaf Golf Preserve is the former Raptor Bay Golf Club in Bonita Springs, rebuilt by Raymond Floyd in 2022-23 and reopened around January 2024. It is a public, bunkerless 18 called the Preserve, plus a walking-only par-3 nine called the Leaf. Book on TeeItUp up to 90 days ahead. GolfPass put peak winter fees around $289 in 2024.

For years Raptor Bay was the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point's course, and many maps and listings still use the old name. This guide covers what changed, who can book, what the published numbers say, how the Leaf fits in, and what the Hyatt next door does and does not offer a golfer. Facts were checked November 3, 2026.

Quick facts

  • Access: public daily fee; Troon-managed according to the stays research.
  • Book: TeeItUp (also GolfNow), 90 days ahead, card required, cancel 48 hours ahead.
  • Phone: 239-390-4600. Address: 23001 Saltleaf Blvd, Bonita Springs, FL 34134.
  • Courses: the Preserve (18 holes, par 72) and the Leaf (9 holes, par 27, walking only).
  • Back tees: 7,075 yards, 72.8/126.
  • Practice: warm-up nets and a putting green, no full range.
  • From downtown Naples: about 36 minutes, 20.2 miles.
  • Google rating: 4.6 from 164 reviews (shared by both courses).

What changed from Raptor Bay to Saltleaf Golf Preserve

Saltleaf Golf Preserve sits on the Raptor Bay site by Estero Bay, but a land swap for the Saltleaf development forced a total overhaul. The research summarises it like this:

  • Holes 11-17 are new. Nine holes were repurposed.
  • Two old holes became the Leaf, the par-3 nine (Raptor Bay's former 10th and 11th).
  • No sand bunkers at all. Long rough and sod-wall waste areas replace them.
  • No full range. It was replaced by a large multi-station warm-up net.

Raymond Floyd designed both the 2001 original and the rebuild (GolfLink also credits Harry Bowers). If you played Raptor Bay years ago, expect a different routing. When booking, search for "Saltleaf", not "Raptor Bay".

Ratings are GolfNow's post-rebuild figures, not checked against the national rating database. A 126 slope from the tips is gentle by Southwest Florida standards: Stoneybrook in Estero, the area's stiffest public test by the research's account, slopes 143. The research rates Saltleaf 2 out of 5 from the middle tees.

What the round is like

It is flat, coastal and friendly. The defence is raised greens, native rough, wetlands and the wind off Estero Bay rather than sand. Corridors are wide. The research's verdict: easy-going and pricey in season, good for mixed-ability groups, less so for players who want a stern test or a proper range.

Plan your warm-up around the nets. Arrive expecting to hit into a net, use the putting green, and go. Afterward, the Saltleaf Bar & Grill is open 10am to 5pm, and there is a pro shop. Whether you can walk the 18 was not confirmed; plan on a cart.

Saltleaf Golf Preserve rates

The club rates page, read November 3, 2026, publishes no dollar amounts. It sends golfers to the TeeItUp pages for seasonal rates, says rates include pre-round range balls, and adds 6.5% tax. Replay rates go through the golf shop. The only published figures are older:

Figure Amount Source and date
Peak winter, top of rangeabout $289GolfPass, April 2024
Opening season, November$229GolfPass, April 2024
Opening season, February$349GolfPass, April 2024
The Leaf, with an 18-hole round$30GolfPass, April 2024
The Leaf, at opening$792023 coverage via search summary

Treat these as a guide to the price level only; rates change, and no 2026-27 card was read. For comparison, Stoneybrook's 2026-27 card runs $199 in the morning from January to April and $99 in summer. See Naples golf rates for course-by-course fees and cheap golf in Naples if Saltleaf's winter price is more than you want to pay.

The Leaf par 3

The Leaf is a 9-hole, par-27 short course for all ages and abilities. It is public, walking only, and books on its own TeeItUp page with the same 90-day window and 48-hour cancellation. The research suggests adding it after an 18-hole round, or using it for beginners and kids. Yardage and a current price were not confirmed.

Booking and the best time to play

Tee times open 90 days ahead on TeeItUp. For January to April, the busiest and dearest months in Southwest Florida, book as soon as your date opens. November and December are shoulder season, and Saltleaf's own opening-season pricing ran lower in November than in February. Summer is the cheapest time anywhere here, with afternoon storms and lightning delays, so take the first tee times. Saltleaf's summer closure dates were not published. Our Naples tee times guide covers booking systems across the area, and the best time to golf in Naples goes month by month.

The Hyatt next door

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is about 4 minutes and 0.8 miles from the Preserve, and 2 minutes from the Leaf, by the map's estimate. It has a waterpark with a 1,095-foot lazy river, a 19,000 square foot spa and a water taxi to a beach on Big Hickory Island.

The golf link is weaker than it used to be. Package sites still sell Hyatt stays with Saltleaf golf, and a 2026 group block offered 10% off published green fees, but Saltleaf's own site mentions no Hyatt guest arrangement. Do not count on resort rates or priority. The Hyatt's research notes a daily resort fee of about $41.26 including tax (date uncertain) and self-parking at $27 a day plus tax, valet $35. It is not on the beach. Compare it with the other big resorts in Naples golf resorts.

Other public courses near Saltleaf

  • Bonita Fairways Golf Club: an 18-hole executive course, par 61. GolfNow showed $32.99 and $27.99 with cart for August and September 2026 dates.
  • Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club: a 27-hole member club in south Bonita that sells public tee times on its own site, with dynamic pricing. No dollar rates were published.
  • Stoneybrook Golf Club: about 37 minutes from downtown Naples in Estero. Long and watery, 75.6/143 from 7,314 yards. Read the Stoneybrook guide or open the Stoneybrook course guide.

Our Bonita Springs golf guide covers these and the private clubs around them.

Which tees, and the rest of the day

For most visitors the Blue/White combination at 6,002 yards (67.5/110 for men, 72.7/126 for women) is the right fit, and the Blue at 6,317 yards suits stronger players. The Gold tees at 4,770 yards rate 61.7/97 for men and 65.4/105 for women, short enough for a beginner partner. Only better players will want the Black/Blue or Black.

Coconut Point, the open-air shopping and dining centre off US 41 at Coconut Rd, is minutes away and has the Estero PGA TOUR Superstore at 23130 Fashion Dr. For a value bed, Hyatt Place Fort Myers/Coconut Point is the research's pick for walking to dinner and getting to Saltleaf in minutes; no rate was read. For a beach afternoon, Doc's Beach House at 27908 Hickory Blvd sits beside Bonita Beach Park.

Is Saltleaf worth it?

For a buddies group with mixed handicaps, or a couple, it is a pleasant upscale round: flat, wide, no bunkers, new holes and a par-3 nine for the rest of the afternoon. The trade-offs are real. Winter prices sit near the top of the public market, there is no range, and good players may find 126 from the tips too soft. For course detail and the hole map, see the Saltleaf course guide and the Leaf course guide.

Questions golfers ask

Is Saltleaf Golf Preserve the same as Raptor Bay?

It is built on the Raptor Bay site, but the course changed. Raymond Floyd, who designed Raptor Bay in 2001, led a 2022-23 rebuild: holes 11-17 are new, nine holes were repurposed, two old holes became the Leaf par-3 course and the sand bunkers were removed. It reopened as Saltleaf around January 2024.

Can the public play Saltleaf Golf Preserve?

Yes. The Preserve is a daily-fee public course booked on the club's TeeItUp pages and also sold on GolfNow. Tee times open 90 days ahead, a card is required and you cancel 48 hours ahead.

How much does Saltleaf cost?

The club's rates page publishes no amounts and sends golfers to TeeItUp for seasonal rates. GolfPass, in April 2024, put peak winter green fees around $289 and the opening season at $229 in November to $349 in February. No 2026-27 card was read, so check TeeItUp for your date.

Does Saltleaf have a driving range?

No full range. The old range was removed in the rebuild and replaced by a large multi-station warm-up net, with a putting green. Rates include pre-round range balls.

What is the Leaf at Saltleaf?

A 9-hole, par-27 short course built from Raptor Bay's former 10th and 11th holes. It is public, walking only and booked on its own TeeItUp page. GolfPass cited $30 for players already on the 18 in April 2024; no 2026 price was read.

Do Hyatt Regency Coconut Point guests get a deal at Saltleaf?

Do not count on one. Package sites still sell Hyatt stays with Saltleaf golf, and a 2026 group block offered 10% off published green fees, but Saltleaf's own site mentions no Hyatt guest arrangement. The course is next door and anyone can book it.

How far is Saltleaf from downtown Naples?

About 36 minutes and 20.2 miles by the map's drive estimate. From the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point it is about 4 minutes and 0.8 miles.
