January to April: peak season
January is the coolest month, about 75F by day and 56F at dawn, and dry. Snowbirds from Ontario, Quebec, the Midwest and the Northeast fill condos and RV resorts, and morning tee times sell first. Bermuda grows slowly and can look off-colour after a cold front, but courses stay open. The Naples Winter Wine Festival (January 29-31, 2027) fills the Ritz-Carltons that weekend.
February is one of the driest months and the start of the year's highest fees. The Chubb Classic at Tiburón (February 11-14, 2027) closes the Black course to resort play and lands on Presidents' Day weekend. The Red Sox and Twins open spring training at home on February 19, 2027, with ArtFest Fort Myers and the Naples National Art Fair around it.
March is the peak of peak: snowbirds, spring training, US spring breaks and Canadian March break overlap, so tee times, rooms, restaurants and I-75 traffic are at their worst. It is also the breeziest month, with RSW averaging 8.0 mph. Easter is March 28, 2027.
April warms to about 84F. Many courses charge high-season rates for the first half of the month, then step down as snowbirds leave after Easter. Late April is a good, quieter golf window.
What peak costs: Stoneybrook charges $199 before noon from January to April against $130 in November-December, and The Dunes on Sanibel peaks at $199 from January 15 to March 12. Collier County hotels averaged $487.60 a night in February 2026. More in Naples golf in March and Naples golf in December and January.
May: the spring shoulder
May reaches about 88F and gets humid late in the month, when the rainy season usually starts. Snowbirds are gone, most courses drop to shoulder or summer rates, and tee sheets open up. Hurricane season has not started. For a buddies trip that plays early, it is a good-value month. Hibiscus and Stoneybrook both switch to summer pricing from May 1.
June to September: the wet season
Summer means highs of about 90F, lows of 74F to 76F and 15 to 19 rain days a month. Mornings are usually dry; sea-breeze thunderstorms build in the afternoon, and published safety guidance says most lightning incidents happen between about 2 and 6 pm. Book the first tee times of the day and expect at least one lightning stoppage on an afternoon round.
It is also the cheapest golf of the year. Fort Myers Country Club charged $45 with cart before noon from May 11 to September 30, 2026, against $70 in November, and Stoneybrook's summer morning rate was $99. The catch is closures: most courses aerify, verticut and topdress greens between June and September, closing anywhere from a couple of days to several weeks. Babcock National closed June 1-5 and closes Tuesdays all summer. Avoid booking the week after a published aerification, when greens are sanded and bumpy. See summer golf in Naples and hurricane season golf in Florida.
October: the fall transition
October is about 87F with the rains easing (about 6 rain days) and humidity dropping late in the month. Courses reopen from summer work, often with recovering greens, and rates are still low early in the month before climbing. Ibis Landing shows the climb: $69 before noon for October 1-15, $79 for October 16-31 and $99 from November. Hurricane risk remains; Milton made landfall south of Tampa on October 9, 2024.
November and December: the sweet spot
November is about 81F and dry, one of the best golf months, and hurricane season ends November 30. Snowbirds and Canadian seasonal flights arrive through the month. Rates are below peak: Eagle Lakes posted $89 to $109 for November-December 2026, and The Dunes charged just $69 from November 1-15 before doubling. The LPGA's CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburón's Gold course (November 19-22, 2026) closes that course for its week, and Thanksgiving (November 26) prices like peak.
December is about 77F and dry. Early December tee sheets are relatively open, the sweet spot of the year, while Christmas-New Year weeks price like peak as families visit snowbird parents. The Grant Thornton Invitational at Tiburón (December 11-13, 2026) closes the Gold again. Sunset is around 5:40 pm in early December, which limits twilight rounds. More in Naples golf in November.
