Fort Myers golf courses: Fort Myers CC, Eastwood and the rest you can book

Fort Myers golf courses that visitors can book number nine on our map, led by the city's two municipal courses: Fort Myers Country Club, a 1917 Donald Ross design, and Eastwood. Shell Point, San Carlos, Eagle Ridge and three executives fill out the list. Seventeen more Fort Myers clubs are private. Fort Myers is about 55 minutes from downtown Naples.

The city courses: Fort Myers Country Club and Eastwood

The City of Fort Myers runs both, with the same rates and booking rules: 7 days ahead on foreUP, 1 day by phone from 8am, singles welcome to walk on and groups of two or more by reservation. From October 15, 2026, non-playing riders are not allowed.

Fort Myers Country Club sits on McGregor Boulevard, a mile from the Edison and Ford Winter Estates; the city says Edison and Henry Ford played it in the 1920s. It is a short par 70 but rates 72.9/131 from the 6,780-yard Black tees. Summer 2026 rates (May 11 to September 30) were $45 with cart before noon. Expect municipal conditioning. Eastwood, off Ortiz Avenue, is the longer and more natural of the two: over 7,100 yards through pines and water, a 1977 Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin design. The city reports a newly remodelled range and a new dining room; the bar and grill is called Eastwood 77 after the opening year. Rates drop $15 at noon. Shell Point and the semi-private courses

• Shell Point: a tidy, water-heavy Gordon Lewis par 71 on 70 acres, the closest public course to Fort Myers Beach and the Sanibel causeway traffic. Members get the early times; public 18-hole rates start at 10am, and the range opens to the public at 9:30am. November 2026 was $125 from 10am to 1pm, $115 from 1 to 3pm, 9 holes after 1pm $70, and walking after 3pm $60. No fivesomes. See the Shell Point course guide.
• San Carlos: a value-focused 18 near RSW and I-75 that aims for some of the most affordable rates in the area; prices are on TeeItUp only. It closed on Mondays from June 1 to October 12, 2026.
• Eagle Ridge: a flat, water-lined community course off Daniels Parkway selling public times on TeeItUp. A budget fill-in rather than a destination.
• Hideaway Country Club: a par-67 gated community course off Colonial Boulevard that takes the public only from May to October. In season, treat it as members, guests and reciprocal players. It sells an outside membership for snowbirds who want a home course; call 239-275-5581.

The par-60 executives

Fort Myers has three executive courses that suit a quick round or a warm-up day:

• Cross Creek: 3,486 yards from the back, closed Mondays from November 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. Pro shop 239-768-1922.
• Myerlee: off Summerlin Road; rates include cart and tax, and a summer membership from May 1 to September 30, 2026 cost $325 plus $10 cart per round.
• Whiskey Creek: over 32 greenside bunkers and a longest hole of 336 yards from the blue tees. Its site lists no online booking or rates, so call.

Private Fort Myers golf courses

Seventeen Fort Myers records are private. Some are classic members' clubs: Cypress Lake (74.5/141 from 7,032 yards, with a waiting list), Gulf Harbour and The Forest. Others are bundled communities where golf comes with the home: Heritage Palms, whose 1,662 owners are members, Olde Hickory and Kelly Greens, where renters and their guests can play and tee times go by lottery. Visitors get on these only as a member's guest or by renting inside the community. Colonial Country Club appears in older listings, but its operation could not be confirmed, so its status is unclear; call first.

Where to stay for Fort Myers golf

• Downtown: Hotel Indigo is 6 minutes from Fort Myers Country Club and the Luminary Hotel 7 minutes, with no resort fee at the Luminary.
• Daniels Parkway: SpringHill Suites Fort Myers Airport is 6 minutes from Cross Creek.
• Beach side: Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers Beach/Sanibel Gateway on the mainland, or Pink Shell on Fort Myers Beach, 16 minutes from Shell Point.

Tees and how they play

The two city courses suit different golfers. Fort Myers Country Club has six sets, from the 6,780-yard Black down to 3,930-yard Green tees, so it works for a mixed group; only the Black has a published rating. Eastwood runs from 7,129 yards on the Black to 5,148 on the Red, and its length is the main defence. Shell Point is compact, with water and some narrow fairways across six tee sets. Eagle Ridge's Gold tees play 5,479 yards (65.8/110 for men, 71.4/120 for women), and Hideaway's whole course is only 5,078 yards from the back.

Getting to the courses

Downtown Fort Myers is 25 minutes from RSW and about 55 minutes from downtown Naples, free-flow. Fort Myers Country Club is 59 minutes from downtown Naples and Eastwood 51, so a Naples-based group can make a day of it, but the courses are far easier from a Fort Myers base, and season traffic on I-75 can add 15 to 45 minutes each way.

Timing a Fort Myers round

Peak season runs January to April. In February and March, Red Sox games at JetBlue Park by RSW and Twins games at Hammond Stadium back up Daniels and Six Mile Cypress Parkways, and the Edison Festival of Light closes McGregor Boulevard on parade night.
