Cheap hotels in Fort Myers for golf: value bases near the courses and RSW

The cheap hotels for a Fort Myers golf trip are the brand hotels along I-75 near RSW, in Estero and Bonita Springs, and in downtown Fort Myers and Cape Coral, not the beach resorts. In season, Lee County hotels averaged $230.25 a night against $487.60 in Naples, and the interstate hotels sit 5 to 15 minutes from the best-value public courses.

We could not find published nightly rates for the individual value hotels when we checked on November 3, 2026, so this guide does not quote them. Instead it maps each hotel to the public courses closest to it, using drive times from the Naples golf map, and gives the county price data so you know what to expect. Rates change daily and by season; always compare live prices.

Cheap hotels near RSW and Alico Road

This cluster is the default for a buddies group flying in. RSW is 25 minutes from downtown Fort Myers and 48 from downtown Naples, and the Alico Road hotels are minutes from the terminal. The setting is office parks and big-box malls, so you will drive to dinner, usually at Gulf Coast Town Center.

The golf near here: Stoneybrook Golf Club in Estero is the serious public test, 7,314 yards and 75.6/143 from the Champions tees, with public rates of $130 before noon, $99 after and $70 at twilight in November-December 2026, plus tax. San Carlos Golf Club sits close to RSW and I-75 and markets itself on value; prices are only on its booking page. Eastwood Golf Course, the city's longer course at 7,129 yards, is a short run up I-75. Out east, Ibis Landing in Lehigh Acres publishes clear rates: $99 before noon, $89 from noon and $69 after 3 pm for November-December 2026, with range balls included. Spring training changes this area. JetBlue Park sits beside RSW on Daniels Parkway, and the Red Sox and Twins both open their home schedules on February 19, 2027. New England and Minnesota fans fill the Fort Myers and Gateway hotels and back up Daniels Parkway on game days, so book early for late February and March.

Cheap hotels in Estero and Bonita Springs

Estero and Bonita split the difference: 35 and 26 minutes from downtown Naples, and close to RSW. The Embassy Suites by I-75 is central for Estero, Bonita and south Fort Myers. Hyatt Place Coconut Point is a short drive from Saltleaf Golf Preserve, the rebuilt Raptor Bay, which is a premium round (GolfPass put peak winter green fees around $289 in April 2024).

In Bonita, the Hampton Inn is 4 minutes from Spanish Wells, a member club that sells public times on 27 holes, and 7 minutes from Bonita Fairways, an executive course where summer GolfNow deals ran $28 to $33 with cart in 2026. See the Spanish Wells course guide.

Downtown Fort Myers: the cheapest golf

If the budget is tight, this is the base. Hotel Indigo in the River District is 6 minutes from Fort Myers Country Club, the city's 1917 Donald Ross course, and 12 from Eastwood. Both charged $70 with cart from 7 am to noon, $55 from noon to 3 pm and $35 after 3 pm in November 2026, tax included; walking after 3 pm was $20. Online booking opens 7 days ahead on foreUP. Cape Coral and the beach gateway

The Hampton Inn & Suites Cape Coral suits a group playing Palmetto-Pine, which sells public times 7 days ahead, and Coral Oaks, the city course ($90 with cart in January 2026, $65 for Cape Coral residents). It is 45 to 60 minutes from Naples golf, and the bridges back up in season.

For beach access without beach prices, the Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers Beach/Sanibel Gateway is 9 minutes from Shell Point Golf Club, where a walking round after 3 pm cost $60 in November 2026. Fort Myers Beach itself is still rebuilding after Ian, and the resorts there charge resort fees: $59 a night at Pink Shell and $45 at Margaritaville, per their listings.

What a cheap Fort Myers golf hotel should have

For golfers, a cheap hotel is only cheap if it saves time as well as money. Look for three things. First, free parking or a known parking fee: Hotel Indigo's fee was not confirmed in our files, and beach resorts add valet charges (Margaritaville listed $35). Second, an early breakfast or a kitchen, because the best public tee times in season are the first ones, and a 7 am start at Fort Myers Country Club or Stoneybrook means leaving before most hotel breakfasts open. Third, room for clubs: suites hotels such as the Homewood and Residence Inn give a foursome more space than a standard double room.

It also pays to check the cancellation terms against your tee times. Stoneybrook opens public times only one week ahead and the city courses 7 days online, so you may book rooms before you know your rounds. A refundable rate gives you room to move the base if the tee sheet pushes you north or south.

Ways to cut the hotel bill

• Go in the shoulder. Lee hotels averaged $144.43 in October-December 2025, and early December has open tee sheets before the Christmas rush.
• Pick suites with kitchens for groups of four or more who will eat in.
• Skip resort fees. None was found for the Luminary; beach and Sanibel resorts add roughly $45 to $77 a night.
• Match the hotel to the courses, so you are not paying for a cheap room and a 50-minute drive each way.
• Avoid spring training weekends near Daniels Parkway if you can.
