Scorecard: St. George Golf Resident Rates: Every Washington County Local Discount, Who Qualifies and When It Pays Off

St. George golf resident rates are real and worth having if you live in Washington County, Utah. The City of St. George's $80 loyalty card cuts an 18-hole peak round at Sunbrook from $68 to $39 walking, and SunRiver in St. George, The Ledges on the Snow Canyon side of town and Sky Mountain in Hurricane all price locals lower. The catch is the ID: most deals require a Utah ID with a Washington County address, so seasonal visitors usually pay the public rate.

This post lists every local discount we found on official rate pages in October 2026, who qualifies, how many rounds it takes to break even, and where each course sits relative to downtown St. George. Rates change by season and year, so confirm before you buy anything.

St. George golf resident rates at the city courses

All four city courses list loyalty-card rates. The Washington County loyalty card costs $80 a year and requires a Utah ID with a Washington County address. It is not valid on Fridays or Saturdays from October 1 to April 30.

Course Season Public walk / cart Loyalty walk / cart
Sunbrook (18)Oct – May$68 / $88$39 / $59
Sunbrook (18)Jun – Sep$34 / $54$27 / $47
St. George Golf Club (18)Oct – May$44 / $64$30 / $50
St. George Golf Club (18)Jun – Sep$30 / $50$22 / $42
Southgate (18)Oct – May$44 / $64$30 / $50
Southgate (18)Jun – Sep$30 / $50$22 / $42
Dixie Red Hills (9)Oct – May$27 / $37$17 / $27
Dixie Red Hills (9)Jun – Sep$19 / $29$12 / $22

Source: City of St. George fee page, checked October 11, 2026. The page prints no effective date. The card price appears on Sunbrook's listing.

Sunbrook is the one that makes the card pay fastest: it's the city's 27-hole course and its most expensive.

When the card pays for itself

  • Sunbrook in season: you save $29 a round walking, so the card covers itself in three weekday rounds.
  • St. George Golf Club or Southgate in season: $14 a round, so six rounds.
  • Summer at any of the three 18s: $7 to $8 a round, so ten to twelve rounds.
  • Dixie Red Hills: $10 per nine in season, so eight nines.

The Friday and Saturday blackout from October through April matters. If you mostly play weekends in peak season, the card does less than the table suggests. Weekday golfers get the full value.

Where the local rates apply: St. George, Washington, Hurricane and beyond

Local deals are only useful at courses you'll actually drive to. Here is every program in this post with its course's town and the drive from downtown St. George on our map's routing.

The pattern is simple. The four city courses, all within 12 minutes of downtown, are where a loyalty card earns its keep. SunRiver and The Ledges sit 14 to 15 minutes out. Hurricane's Sky Mountain is the furthest Washington County course with a local rate, about half an hour east toward Zion. The two out-of-county deals, Oasis in Mesquite and Cedar Ridge in Cedar City, are each about an hour's drive.

If you're a snowbird renting for the season, base yourself near the courses you'll play most. Staybridge Suites, with full kitchens, is 7 minutes from Southgate and St. George Golf Club. Hampton Inn & Suites SunRiver is 4 minutes from SunRiver.

SunRiver: three tiers of local pricing

SunRiver is a public course inside a 55+ community in south St. George, and its 2026-27 rate sheet has the most detailed St. George golf resident rates in town.

Who Peak (Sep – May), 18 / 9 Summer (Jun – Aug), 18 / 9
Guest$105 Mon–Thu, $115 Fri–Sun / $55–$60$56 / $34
Washington County ID$72 / $38$48 / $26
SunRiver resident$65 / $36$46 / $24
Players Card ($1,000 a year)$46 per 18$46 per 18

A Washington County ID saves $33 to $43 a round in peak season with no card to buy. The Players Card is a different animal: at $26 less than the county rate, it takes about 39 rounds to recover the $1,000. That suits a retiree playing three times a week through the winter, not a casual golfer. More on the course in the SunRiver course guide.

The Ledges Club 72 pass

The Ledges uses dynamic pricing, and Washington County residents can buy the Club 72 pass for $175 a year (valid calendar 2026). It gives 20% off green fees and a 7-day booking window. It can't be combined with Super Twilight.

At the October 2026 weekday morning rate we saw ($255), 20% is $51, so four morning rounds cover the pass. In November, when mornings ran $135 to $164, it takes closer to six or seven. See the Ledges course page for tees and layout.

Smaller local deals around St. George

  • Sky Mountain in Hurricane is owned by the city of Hurricane. A 2026 guide says Washington County residents pay less with ID, but the amount isn't published. A reviewer also suggests asking about punch-card rates.
  • Coral Canyon in Washington takes $20 off for seniors, military and juniors (STG Newsletter, October 2026). It is listed as an age and service discount rather than a residency rate, so ask whether it applies to visitors.
  • Green Spring in Washington has no resident rate on its city rates page. An undated Washington City news item (probably 2024) listed a 10-round punch card at $460 for 18 holes with cart. It isn't on the current rates page, so confirm with the pro shop.

Sand Hollow in Hurricane and Black Desert in Ivins publish no resident rate.

Mesquite, NV: the Oasis rate St. George locals can use

One of the most useful local deals in Southern Utah golf is in Nevada. Oasis Palmer and Oasis Canyons offer a resident rate to verified residents of Clark County, Nevada and Washington County, Utah. St. George locals qualify.

  • Book within 30 days of your round (visitors get 60).
  • The online engine shows rack rates until the shop verifies your residency at check-in, so bring ID.
  • The amount isn't published. Call 702-346-7820.

For context, Oasis rack rates sampled in October 2026 were $190 before about 1 pm in fall and $210 before 2 pm in March and April 2027. The courses are about 50 minutes (39.3 miles) from downtown St. George, on Pacific time. Our Mesquite golf day trip guide covers the drive down I-15.

Conestoga publishes no general Clark County or Washington County local rate.

North to Cedar City: passes at Cedar Ridge

Cedar Ridge, the City of Cedar City's course, is about 58 minutes north of downtown St. George on I-15. Its rate card (effective March 1, 2025, still the latest posted when we checked in October 2026) lists:

  • Golfers 60 and over, and juniors under 18: $26 for 18, $17 for 9.
  • Season passes: $715 for a 5-day pass, $900 for a 7-day pass.
  • A 20-round punch pass for $325.
  • A season range pass (March to October) for $225.

The record doesn't say these are limited to Cedar City residents, so ask the shop (435-586-2970). The regular rate is already low, a flat $32 walking or $50 with cart. At about 5,810 feet the course runs much cooler than St. George, so it's a summer play more than a winter one. Our Cedar City and Southern Utah golf post has the rest.

If you don't qualify: what visitors to St. George can do instead

Most snowbirds from Canada and the northern US won't have a Utah ID with a Washington County address, which puts most St. George golf resident rates out of reach. These are the deals open to anyone, all seen in October 2026.

  • Play in summer. The city's June to September rate is $30 walking at St. George Golf Club and Southgate, and Green Spring is $50 with cart any day from June to August.
  • Play twilight. Sand Hollow drops to $75 to $85 after about 1 pm in December and January, versus $150 to $173 in the morning. SunRiver's twilight is $60 in peak season.
  • Stay and play. Sand Hollow Resort's STAY&PLAY code gives 10% off rooms and 20% off tee times. Black Desert resort guests pay $75 to $125 less per round.
  • Ask about age-based discounts. Coral Canyon lists $20 off for seniors, military and juniors; ask whether visitors qualify. Cedar Ridge charges $26 for 18 for golfers 60 and over.

Questions golfers ask

Do golf courses in St. George, Utah have resident rates?

Yes. The City of St. George sells a Washington County loyalty card ($80 a year, Utah ID with a Washington County address) that cuts rates at Sunbrook, St. George Golf Club, Southgate and Dixie Red Hills. SunRiver, The Ledges and Sky Mountain also have local pricing. Checked October 2026.

How much does the St. George, Utah golf loyalty card save?

At Sunbrook in October to May, 18 holes walking drops from $68 to $39 and with a cart from $88 to $59. At St. George Golf Club and Southgate it drops from $44 to $30 walking. The card is not valid Friday or Saturday from October 1 to April 30.

Can snowbirds get the resident golf rate in St. George, Utah?

The city loyalty card requires a Utah ID with a Washington County address, and SunRiver's local rate needs a Washington County ID. Seasonal visitors without that ID pay the public rate, so twilight, summer and stay-and-play deals are their best savings.

Do St. George residents get a golf discount in Mesquite, NV?

Yes, at Oasis. Oasis Golf Club's resident rate covers verified residents of Clark County, Nevada and Washington County, Utah, so St. George locals qualify. Book within 30 days and bring ID; the amount is not published, so call 702-346-7820.

Is the SunRiver Players Card in St. George worth it?

The Players Card costs $1,000 a year and then $46 per 18 holes, against $72 for a peak round with a Washington County ID. The $26 saving per round means it pays for itself after about 39 rounds, so it suits golfers who play several times a week.
