Red-rock poster: Twilight Golf in St. George, Utah: Which Courses Drop Their Price After Lunch (and Which Don't)

Looking for twilight golf? St. George, Utah has real afternoon discounts, but not everywhere. In October 2026 the biggest cuts were at Sand Hollow Championship in Hurricane and The Ledges on the St. George side of Snow Canyon, where late tee times ran roughly half the morning price, with smaller drops at Coral Canyon in Washington and SunRiver. Black Desert in Ivins, Copper Rock and the four City of St. George courses showed no twilight rate at all.

That split matters when you plan a golf trip. If you want two good rounds a day, or one premium course at a mid-range price, the afternoon tee sheet is where the money is. If you are playing the city courses, the discount comes from the calendar, not the clock.

All prices below were seen in October 2026 on live tee sheets, official rate pages or a named secondary source. Several courses use dynamic pricing, so treat them as ranges and expect them to move.

Sources and caveats, briefly. Sand Hollow and The Ledges are live Chronogolf prices sampled October 11, 2026. Coral Canyon's numbers come from an October 2026 local newsletter, not the course. SunRiver's are from its 2026-27 rate sheet. Green Spring's 2 pm price is from an undated Washington City news item (probably 2024) that is not on the current rates page, so call before you count on it.

Where the twilight deals are: Hurricane, Snow Canyon and Washington

A twilight rate is a race against the sun, so where the course sits matters. Every minute you spend driving from your hotel is a minute of daylight you don't get on the back nine. Here are the twilight courses by area, with drive times from downtown St. George on our map's routing.

Hurricane has the best twilight deal and the longest drive. If Sand Hollow's winter half-price window is the plan, staying at the resort, 3 minutes from the first tee, makes a 1 pm start realistic. From downtown St. George it's a 32-minute run each way. Our Hurricane and Sand Hollow golf guide covers the courses out there.

The Ledges is on the west side, where the course runs along the sandstone edge of Snow Canyon. It's 15 minutes from downtown, and the Ledges rental homes sit on the course.

Washington's two twilight options, Coral Canyon and Green Spring, are 12 to 17 minutes from downtown, and each has a hotel within 3 minutes.

Sand Hollow: half price in winter, a late cut in autumn

The Sand Hollow Championship course uses dynamic pricing, and its afternoon cut is built in rather than labelled.

The size of the drop changes by month. In December and January the price fell by about half after 1 pm. In October the cut came late, around 3:45 pm, and was smaller: $225 against $345 at midday. In spring the afternoon price of $175 to $200 still beats a $305 to $366 morning.

The catch is daylight. The resort says twilight times are not guaranteed to finish 18, and the holes you came for are on the back nine. The cliff-edge stretch from 11 to 15 is what Golf Digest's Ron Whitten wrote about, and a late start puts you there at the end of the day. A 2021 GolfPass reviewer reported 5 hours 5 minutes for a twosome, which is one reviewer, but it is a warning.

One more note for stay-and-play guests: Sand Hollow Resort's STAY&PLAY 20% green-fee discount does not apply to twilight times.

If you only want nine more holes, the Sand Hollow Links nine sits next door. Its price was flat all day on every date sampled ($50 to $105 for nine), so it is not a twilight deal, but it is a walkable add-on after a morning round on the Championship course.

The Ledges: two price steps in one afternoon

The Ledges steps its afternoon price down twice. In October 2026 a Saturday morning was $275 to $295. From 2 pm it dropped to $145 to $175, and by 4 pm it was $112 to $125.

November and winter go lower still: $79 to $95 after 2 or 3 pm in November, and $75 to $105 after 2:30 pm on the January and February 2027 dates sampled.

Two things help the twilight golfer here. The course's booking setting lists 4 hours 20 minutes for 18, which helps when you start late. And the scenery is on the back nine, along the Snow Canyon edge. Read more in our Ledges course guide or on the Ledges course page.

Washington County residents should note that the Club 72 pass (20% off) cannot be combined with the Super Twilight rate.

Coral Canyon, SunRiver and Green Spring: smaller, steadier discounts

These three are the mid-price options, and their afternoon rates are flat numbers rather than dynamic ones.

  • Coral Canyon: about $85 in peak season and $75 in January and December, against roughly $135 and $115 for a full-price 18. The tee time includes a half cart, range balls and tax. Rounds have run about 5 hours in 2024 reviews, so start early in winter.
  • SunRiver: $60 after 2 pm most of the year and after 1 pm from November through January. In summer the "twilight" starts at 10 am at $41, which is really a heat discount.
  • Green Spring: the 2 pm offer of $40 to $50 including cart is the cheapest on the list if it is still running. Locals say the canyon holes slow things down, and a 1:30 pm winter tee time can finish near dark.

The St. George courses with no twilight rate

Knowing where not to wait for a discount saves a lot of tee-sheet refreshing.

  • Black Desert in Ivins: no twilight published. The only time-of-day break is in summer: from July 7 to September 3, tee times from 10:15 am to close drop to $325 (non-guest) and $250 (resort guest), while 7 to 10 am tee times pay the peak rate.
  • Copper Rock in Hurricane: one flat rate for every tee time from 9:24 am to 3:36 pm on October 11, 2026.
  • City of St. George courses: Sunbrook, St. George Golf Club and Southgate have no twilight rate, and Dixie Red Hills showed a flat $27 (nine holes, walking) from 9:30 am to 4:20 pm. The city's discount is seasonal: June to September, Sunbrook drops from $68 to $34 walking for 18.

Dixie Red Hills is still a good late-day option. It is a nine-hole course about 7 minutes from downtown, and at $27 for nine walking it makes an easy evening loop after a full round elsewhere. For the lowest full-round prices at these courses, see cheap golf in St. George.

Will you finish? St. George daylight and pace by season

For twilight golf, St. George's winter is the cheapest season and also has the shortest days. A twilight rate is only a deal if you get most of the holes in. The climate data for St. George helps you pick the right month.

Month Normal high What it means for a late tee time
October78.8°FComfortable afternoons; Sand Hollow's cut comes late (~3:45 pm)
November63.8°FLight wind (3.6 mph average); twilight starts ~2 pm at Sand Hollow and The Ledges
December53°FShortest days of the year; frost delays push the morning back too
January54°FSame as December; the half-price window at Sand Hollow opens ~1 pm
March–April67.8–75°FWindier afternoons (6.1–7.1 mph average)
June–August96–102°FAfternoons are too hot; summer deals move to the morning or all day

Winter is the sweet spot for price, but it is also when the gap between a twilight start and dark is shortest. In December and January, book a twilight time expecting that you may not finish all 18. November gives you more daylight to work with and the prices have already dropped; our November golf in St. George post covers that month. For the full winter picture, read the St. George winter golf guide.

Building a St. George golf day around twilight

The simplest way to use twilight golf, St. George style, on a golf trip is to pair a full-price morning at a cheaper course with a discounted afternoon at a premium one.

  • Morning at a city course, afternoon at The Ledges. Sunbrook is 12 minutes from downtown, and The Ledges rentals list Sunbrook about 17 minutes away by road.
  • 27 holes at Sand Hollow. Walk the Links nine in the morning, then take a twilight time on the Championship course.
  • A cheap nine to close the day. Dixie Red Hills is 6 to 10 minutes from most of the downtown and I-15 hotels on our map.

If you are planning 36 holes in a day, our two rounds a day guide covers which pairings make sense.

Twilight across the state line in Mesquite, NV

Mesquite golf leans harder on twilight pricing than St. George does. Falcon Ridge steps its price down in tiers through the afternoon. The two Oasis courses ran $105 to $140 from noon, 1 pm or 2 pm depending on the month. CasaBlanca was $90 to $110 from about noon to 1 pm, Conestoga $100 to $200 depending on season, and Wolf Creek $280 to $350 in the seasons it offers twilight.

Palms Golf Club, just over the Arizona line in Littlefield, showed $76 to $95 from about 1 pm in October and early November 2026 on its booking engine, and $76 from noon from about November 19. Its record notes the course sits on the Arizona side, so confirm which clock your tee time is on.

Remember the clock in Mesquite itself: it is on Pacific time, one hour behind St. George. A 2 pm twilight time in Mesquite is 3 pm on a St. George clock, which matters for daylight on the drive back. The Mesquite courses are 50 to 57 minutes from downtown St. George. See the Mesquite golf day trip guide for how to fit one in.
