TPC Myrtle Beach is a public course in Murrells Inlet that anyone can book, direct, on GolfNow or inside a Founders Group package. It is a 1999 Tom Fazio design with Lanny Wadkins, with wetlands on 11 holes and a par-3 17th over water. Online rates started at about $121 with cart for early November 2026.
It is the headline public course on the south end of the Grand Strand, often overseeded in winter and host of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship each fall. This guide covers access, what it costs and why a package can be cheaper, the tees and the round, and where to base. Prices were seen November 1, 2026 and change by date.

TPC Myrtle Beach tees
| Tee | Yards | Rating/slope |
|---|---|---|
| Black | 6,950 | 74.2/146 |
| Blue | 6,600 | 72.5/142 |
| White | 6,193 | 71.0/136 |
| Gold | 5,783 | 69.0/128 |

Tees are from GolfPass with a single rating per tee. Even the Blue tees slope 142, so most visiting groups belong on the White or Gold.
The round
TPC Myrtle Beach is a lowcountry layout through pines. Wetlands come into play on 11 holes and the fairways are narrow, so position matters more than distance. The signature hole is the par-3 17th, over water. GolfPass also credits Beau Welling and Tom Marzolf on the design.
It has tournament history: it hosted the Senior PGA Tour Championship and an NCAA regional, and it is the annual host of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship in late fall, so check for closures around that event. On lists, GolfPass (then Golf Advisor) ranked it 23rd in its 2019 Golfers' Choice South Carolina list and 49th in its 2018 Top 50 US courses.
Facilities are a driving range, putting and chipping greens, a pro shop, club rentals, a snack bar and a restaurant. Carts are included in published rates, and reviewers report cart-path-only days after rain, when rounds can run past five hours.
What TPC Myrtle Beach costs
| Figure | Price | Type and date |
|---|---|---|
| Early November 2026 | from $121 per golfer, cart included | GolfNow widget on GolfPass, seen Nov 1, 2026 |
| May 2026, 1:30 pm | about $120 | reviewer report, anecdotal |
| Rack rate | not published | the course posts no rate sheet |
That is thin data, and the course record says so: one GolfNow snapshot and no rack sheet. For comparison, one package operator listed Caledonia at $189 for October 4, 2026, and Prestwick's own tee sheet showed $146 for a November 2 morning. See Myrtle Beach golf rates.
Why a package can beat the stand-alone rate
TPC is one of 21 courses in Founders Group International's fall 2026 all-inclusive package. Bundling it with cheaper Founders courses often beats its rate on its own. Founders' booking site also offers Founders Inclusive rounds (lunch, two drinks and range balls), multi-round discounts and a $100 gift card after four or more Founders rounds. Its FAQ asks a $100 per person deposit with the balance due 30 days before arrival, and advises booking spring and fall weekends as far ahead as possible.
Founders courses nearby that pair well include Willbrook, Litchfield and Pawleys Plantation on the Pawleys side. Read Founders Group golf courses in Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach golf packages.
Winter at TPC
TPC has been one of the Strand's wall-to-wall ryegrass courses in recent winters. It was in the 2020 "Myrtle Beach Goes Green" group, and a local guide says it overseeded four straight years ahead of the World Junior. That keeps it green when non-overseeded bermuda goes dormant and tan, typically from late November. Fall 2026 overseed was not confirmed, so ask when you book a winter round. Overseeding can also bring cart-path-only days in early fall. See Myrtle Beach golf winter conditions.
Is TPC Myrtle Beach worth it?
For a group that wants one serious test on the south end, yes. At about $121 in early November 2026 it cost almost twice the afternoon rates at Wachesaw East and Blackmoor a few minutes away, but it is the harder, better-known course, and at 146 from the back its slope is topped on the South Strand only by Pawleys Plantation (148). The value case gets stronger in winter, when its recent overseeding history means green fairways while many courses are tan.
The trade-offs: narrow fairways and wetland carries punish a wild driver, the back tees are too much for most visitors, and the round can be slow on cart-path-only days. If your group is mostly high handicappers, International Club or Wachesaw East will be more fun for the money.
TPC vs the other South Strand splurges
| Course | Back tees (yds, rating/slope) | Fee seen |
|---|---|---|
| TPC Myrtle Beach | 6,950 (74.2/146) | from $121 online (early Nov 2026) |
| Caledonia | 6,526 (71.8/138) | $189 package (Oct 4, 2026) |
| Pawleys Plantation | 7,031 (75.7/148) | $230 AM package rate for Sat May 2, 2025 (captured Jan 2025) |
| True Blue | 7,126 (74.5/138) | summer 2027 special from $109 AM |
TPC is the closest of the four to central Myrtle Beach, 26 minutes from the SkyWheel against 38 to 42 for the Pawleys courses, which makes it the easiest splurge for a group based mid-Strand.
TPC Myrtle Beach by season
- Spring (March to May): peak golf on the Strand, with coastal highs of about 65F to 79F. Book as early as you can.
- Summer (June to August): highs of 85F to 88F and storms on 11 to 13 days a month. Take a morning time, and ask about aeration, which most Strand courses do in summer.
- Fall (September to November): October to early November is the second peak. Overseeding can bring cart-path-only days, and the World Junior is in late fall.
- Winter (December to February): highs of 56F to 59F and frost delays on cold mornings. If TPC overseeds again, it is one of the better-looking winter rounds on the Strand.
Normals are NOAA 1991-2020 at the North Myrtle Beach airport. For the full calendar, read the best time to golf in Myrtle Beach.

Pair it with the Murrells Inlet value rounds
TPC sits in a tight cluster. Wachesaw East, a former LPGA venue, showed $67 after 2 pm on its own tee sheet for November 2, 2026, and Blackmoor, Gary Player's only Grand Strand design, $69. International Club suits mixed groups with five tee sets. See the Wachesaw East course guide, the International Club course guide and Murrells Inlet golf.
Caledonia is 20 minutes south of the Hampton Inn for a second splurge.
