Drawn hole routing: Myrtle Beach golf trip itinerary: four days, five or six rounds

A strong Myrtle Beach golf trip itinerary for four days is six rounds from one central base: Myrtlewood on arrival, 36 at Myrtle Beach National, 36 at Barefoot, and Prestwick or Pine Lakes before you fly. From the Hampton Inn Broadway at the Beach, no drive in this plan is longer than 23 minutes on free-flow times.

Below is the day-by-day plan, then three versions built around one area: the North Strand, the South Strand and a Murrells Inlet value trip.

Quick facts

  • Rounds: six (drop one afternoon for five).
  • Base: central Myrtle Beach, at Broadway at the Beach.
  • Longest drive from base: 23 minutes (Barefoot).
  • Green fees on fall 2026 rates: about $798 per golfer for all six; rates change.
  • Best months: March to April and October to early November.
  • Fly into: MYR, 9 minutes from the SkyWheel.

The four-day Myrtle Beach golf trip itinerary at a glance

Drive times are free-flow estimates from the Hampton Inn Broadway at the Beach, which has free breakfast and parking. Tee data are from the back tees. Fees are examples seen on November 1, 2026 for fall 2026 dates, carts included.

At those rates the six rounds total $798 per golfer. Barefoot takes 10% off two or more rounds, which brings that day down by $35.

Day 1: arrive and play Myrtlewood

Fly into MYR, 9 minutes from the SkyWheel, and check in. Myrtlewood's Palmetto course is central, well kept and finishes along the Intracoastal Waterway, 7 minutes from the hotel. A package seller showed $80 for an October 5, 2026 afternoon and $72 late in the day. For an easier first round, the sister PineHills course shares the clubhouse and is the friendlier of the two.

Day 2: 36 holes at Myrtle Beach National

Myrtle Beach National has three Palmer courses at one complex, 19 minutes inland. Play King's North in the morning: freshly renovated in 2024-25 with new TifEagle greens and the Gambler, its island-fairway par 5. GolfPass noted in April 2026 that the renovation was still maturing after a dry spring.

After lunch, play SouthCreek, just over 6,400 yards from the tips and better suited to mixed-ability groups than King's North. All three courses are Founders Group courses, and Founders packages on myrtlebeachgolf.com include multi-round discounts. See the King's North course guide.

Day 3: two Barefoot courses

Drive 23 minutes north to Barefoot Resort. The Love is the all-round favourite, playable off the tee and interesting around the greens. The Norman is the friendliest, with the Intracoastal holes; club up on the waterway stretch, which plays into or across the breeze.

Barefoot's walk-on rates for October 26 to November 8, 2026 started at $175 Thursday to Saturday and Sunday mornings and $150 Sunday afternoon to Tuesday, so put this day early in the week if you can. The reduced replay rate is only sold on the day, in person after your first round. Carts are required and every cart has GPS. Good players can swap in the Dye (slope 149 from the tips) or the tight Fazio. See the Barefoot Love course guide.

Day 4: Prestwick, then the airport

Finish 19 minutes south at Prestwick, a Pete and P.B. Dye course that won both 2025 course-of-the-year awards. Its own tee sheet showed $146 for a November 2, 2026 morning, while early-afternoon GolfNow Hot Deals that week ran $84 to $100 plus a fee. Members come first and Saturdays sell out, so book early. See the Prestwick course guide.

For a closer finish, Pine Lakes, the 1927 "Granddaddy," is 7 minutes from the hotel; a package seller listed $128 for an October 5, 2026 morning.

A North Strand version: Barefoot all week

Base at the Barefoot villas, 4 to 5 minutes from all four courses. The Barefoot Experience package covers three nights in a two-bedroom villa for four golfers, one round on each of the Norman, Love, Fazio and Dye (one after noon), carts, free range balls and daily breakfast, at 25% off each round against rack. The fourth night is free in the Golf Villas, outside blackout dates. Only this package qualifies for Barefoot's preferred replay rates, which turns four days into five or six rounds.

To get off property once, Tidewater is 26 minutes and Glen Dornoch 27. Prices on the resort site show only as dollar signs, so ask for a quote. Our North Myrtle Beach golf guide covers the area.

A South Strand version: Caledonia and True Blue

Base at the True Blue Resort villas, steps from True Blue's tee boxes:

  • Day 1: True Blue, 0 minutes. Wider, longer and harder than its sister; move up a tee.
  • Day 2: Caledonia, 4 minutes, a Strantz par 70 under live oaks. A package seller listed $189 for October 4, 2026.
  • Day 3: Heritage Club, 6 minutes, booked inside a package, then Pawleys Plantation, 9 minutes, the Nicklaus course with the marsh holes.
  • Day 4: a replay of your favourite before the drive home.

Caledonia and True Blue's two-course special needs one round at each within seven days, paid at the first course. Caledonia times are scarce in peak weeks, and the villa package is the dependable way to get them. Our Pawleys Island golf guide has more.

A value version from Murrells Inlet

Base at the Hampton Inn Murrells Inlet, with free breakfast and parking, near the MarshWalk:

  • Wachesaw East, 6 minutes: $69 to $76 for a November 2, 2026 morning on its own sheet.
  • Blackmoor, 6 minutes: $74 to $77 that morning.
  • International Club, 9 minutes: $79 to $87 that morning, $72 in the early afternoon.
  • TPC Myrtle Beach, 8 minutes: the splurge, from $121 on GolfNow in early November 2026.

Add a replay at Wachesaw East and five rounds come to well under $500 at those rates. Our Murrells Inlet golf guide and cheap golf in Myrtle Beach have more.

Booking tips for a four-day trip

  1. Book spring and fall early. Course sheets already showed April 2027 times on November 1, 2026.
  2. Expect deposits. Founders Group packages take $100 per person, with the balance due 30 days before arrival.
  3. Know the cancellation rules. Barefoot needs 72 hours per foursome to cancel a tee time, and packages cancelled within 30 days of arrival are forfeited.
  4. Pick early-week days for the dearest courses. Barefoot's Sunday afternoon to Tuesday rate was $25 below its weekend mornings in fall 2026.

Questions golfers ask

How many rounds can you play on a four-day Myrtle Beach golf trip?

Five or six is realistic. Play an afternoon round on arrival, 36 holes on one or two full days at a complex with more than one course, and a morning round before you fly. Myrtle Beach National and Barefoot both make 36 holes easy without moving the car far.

Where should I stay for a Myrtle Beach golf trip itinerary?

For a mix of the best-known courses, a central base works well. From the Hampton Inn Broadway at the Beach, Myrtlewood and Pine Lakes are 7 minutes, Prestwick and Myrtle Beach National 19 and Barefoot 23 on free-flow times. For one area, base at Barefoot, True Blue or Murrells Inlet instead.

What does a four-day Myrtle Beach golf trip cost in green fees?

On the fall 2026 rates used here, the six-round central plan adds up to about $798 per golfer before Barefoot's 10% two-round discount. A Murrells Inlet value plan can come in well under $500 for five rounds. Rates change by date and hour.

Can you play 36 holes a day in Myrtle Beach?

Yes. Myrtle Beach National's King's North, SouthCreek and West share one complex, Myrtlewood has two courses at one clubhouse, and Barefoot has four. At Barefoot, the reduced replay rate is only sold on the day, in person after your first round; a replay booked in advance pays the full rate.

Do I need a car for a Myrtle Beach golf trip?

Yes. The Grand Strand runs about 60 miles from Little River to Pawleys Island and many courses sit inland. Even the tight central plan here has drives of 7 to 23 minutes each way, more on summer Saturdays.

What is the best South Strand itinerary?

Base at the True Blue Resort villas, steps from True Blue's first tee and 4 minutes from Caledonia. Add Heritage Club (6 minutes) and Pawleys Plantation (9). Caledonia and True Blue run a two-course special that needs one round at each within seven days.

How early should I book a four-day trip?

For spring or fall, months ahead. Course tee sheets already showed April 2027 times in early November 2026, and Founders Group packages ask a $100 per person deposit with the balance due 30 days before arrival.
