All 18 holes: North Myrtle Beach golf: Barefoot, Tidewater and the North Strand

North Myrtle Beach golf centres on Barefoot Resort's four courses, by Pete Dye, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio and Greg Norman, plus Tidewater on the Cherry Grove marsh. Beachwood and Azalea Sands are the value rounds on US 17. Barefoot's walk-on rates started at $150 to $175 for late October to early November 2026.

North Myrtle Beach is the most compact golf base on the Grand Strand. Barefoot's villas sit 4 to 5 minutes from four courses, Barefoot Landing is next door for dinner, and Little River and Longs add another half-dozen courses within half an hour. Fees here were seen November 1, 2026 and change by season and hour.

Barefoot Resort: four courses, one gate

All four Barefoot courses opened in 2000 and share one rate table, so the choice is about style.

  • Dye: the hardest of the four, target golf with railroad-tie and waste bunkers inside the gated Dye Estates. It is the home of the Dye Club membership, so public times can be thinner.
  • Love: wide fairways and crowned, Pinehurst-style greens; the resort calls it the most balanced.
  • Fazio: a par 71 through live oaks and longleaf pines, tight and tree-lined. The nines do not return to the clubhouse, so get food before you go off.
  • Norman: wide fairways and sandy waste areas, with seven holes along the Intracoastal Waterway. The resort calls it the most golfer-friendly.

Playing all four takes 25% off each round, and two or more rounds take 10% off. The Barefoot Love course guide has the tees, and our Barefoot Resort golf guide compares the four in depth.

Seasonality is steep. The same walk-on table starts at $225 to $235 on Thursday to Sunday mornings for April 1 to May 2, 2027, $124 in mid-summer 2027 and $95 to $108 for January 4 to February 9, 2027.

Booking rules worth knowing at Barefoot

  • Replays: a reduced replay rate is sold on the day, in person, after your first round, subject to availability, and only Barefoot Experience package guests qualify for the preferred replay rates. A replay booked in advance pays full rate.
  • Cancellations: tee times need 72 hours' notice per foursome, and package cancellations within 30 days of arrival forfeit in full.
  • Big groups: with 20 or more golfers, every 20th golfer is free on the package, which carries a 2% admin fee.
  • Spring 2027 offer: the "27th Anniversary" deal takes up to 30% off peak spring rates for stays March 11-24, 2027, if booked by January 15, 2027.
  • Late-fall promo: 30% off each round in a four-round package with one afternoon round, for play from October 26, 2026 to January 3, 2027 (the booking deadline was August 31, 2026).

Tidewater

Tidewater, a 1990 Ken Tomlinson design, sits on bluffs above the Cherry Grove marsh and the waterway, with several holes along the tidal inlet. The greens were rebuilt with MiniVerde ultradwarf bermuda around 2014. It was on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses list for 2011-12.

Public internet rates are dynamic and not published; Chronogolf showed undated averages of $118 on weekdays and $133 on weekends. Tidewater overseeds rye around Thanksgiving and stays open. Reviewers in 2026 flagged slow rounds on tournament days, so ask the shop. See the Tidewater course guide and our Tidewater Golf Club guide.

Beachwood and Azalea Sands: the value rounds

Both are Gene Hamm courses on US 17. Beachwood (1968) is a flat parkland course about half a mile from the ocean that won the 2026 local Course of the Year, and it is the easiest early tee time for a Crescent Beach or Windy Hill base. Its range closes Sunday afternoon through Monday mid-morning.

Azalea Sands (1972) is flat, with no homes along the holes, and is described as newly renovated under new ownership. Its own tee sheet showed $79.10 for an April 15, 2027 morning and $45.10 for January 14, 2027. Calling the shop instead of booking online skips convenience fees.

The Surf Club and nearby courses

The Surf Golf & Beach Club is a 1960 George Cobb private club near Cherry Grove. Don't plan a trip around getting on; see private golf clubs in Myrtle Beach.

Just outside town, Long Bay (Nicklaus), Glen Dornoch on the waterway and the short Valley at Eastport are within 30 minutes of the Barefoot villas, and Arcadian Shores, Rees Jones's first solo design, is 15 minutes south. Our Little River golf courses guide covers that side.
