The value courses

Azalea Sands is a cheap, easy North Myrtle Beach round under new ownership. Its booking site showed a full day's pricing: $45.10 in the morning and $35.10 after 2 pm on January 14, 2027, and $79.10 on a mid-April 2027 morning. Calling the shop avoids online convenience fees.

Indigo Creek publishes a card: $75 AM and $65 PM in spring and fall, $55 and $45 from mid-November through mid-February and in summer. It is a decent Willard Byrd layout, but 2026 reviews repeatedly report poor greens.

Wachesaw East is the value pick for quality: a former LPGA venue with TifEagle greens, fall rates around $60 on GolfNow, and 94% of GolfPass reviewers recommending it. See the Wachesaw East course guide.

Longs and Little River. Colonial Charters ($45-$69 in the rates we saw), Aberdeen ($50-$103) and Eagle Nest ($47-$75) are the North Strand's budget trio. Aberdeen's 128 slope from the back makes it the friendliest; Eagle Nest has a long, hard finish. See Little River golf courses.

City and short courses. Whispering Pines, the city's own course, is usually among the cheaper regulation rounds in town (no rates were found). The Aero Club is a lit par-3 course, and Tupelo Bay's par-58 executive course was $31.99 to $36.99 plus a $2.99 fee on GolfNow for November 2-8, 2026.

Twilight, afternoon and replay rates

Most Grand Strand courses use dynamic pricing, so the same day costs less after lunch. Examples from course booking sites:

Course and date Morning Afternoon
Azalea Sands, Mon Nov 2, 2026$60.10 (7:30-8 am)$36.10 after 2 pm
Prestwick, Thu Jan 14, 2027$103 (8-9 am)$77 after noon
Wachesaw East, Mon Nov 2, 2026$69-$76$67 after 2 pm
International Club, Thu Jan 14, 2027$85 (9-10 am)$70 (1:15-3 pm)

Caledonia's summer twilight. Caledonia's summer 2026 specials (June 22-August 30) had AM from $129, PM from $99 and twilight after 4 pm at $79. Summer 2027 specials are AM from $129 and PM from $109.

Barefoot's replay. The four Barefoot courses, such as Barefoot Love, publish no twilight rate, but sells a reduced same-day replay booked in person after your first round; a replay booked in advance pays full rate.

How to stack the savings

  1. Pick the season. Barefoot's "starting at" walk-on rate is $225-$235 on spring mornings (April 1-May 2, 2027) and $98 any day February 10-16, 2027. See Myrtle Beach golf rates.
  2. Play summer mornings. Summer is golf's low-rate season; Barefoot starts at $124 on Thursday-Sunday mornings and $95 to $113 early in the week (June 14-August 4, 2027).
  3. Use multi-round discounts. Barefoot takes 10% off two or more rounds and 25% off each round if you play all four. Founders Group packages add a $100 gift card after four or more Founders rounds.
  4. Compare package and direct. On Coastal Golfaway's Saturday, May 2, 2026 spring snapshot, package rates were at or below direct at most courses: Aberdeen $86 against $103 in the morning, Myrtlewood Palmetto $130 against $137. See Myrtle Beach golf packages.
  5. Cross into North Carolina. GolfNow showed Lion's Paw and Panther's Run at $48.99 plus a fee and Meadowlands at $64.99 plus $3.49 for early November 2026. Meadowlands is well reviewed at that price. See Brunswick Islands golf and the Meadowlands course guide.

When cheap is not worth it

Low rates often come with condition complaints. Recent 2026 reviews flag poor greens at Indigo Creek, uneven conditions at Burning Ridge and mixed fairway reports at Blackmoor, and one reviewer found Colonial Charters very wet after little rain. Read the latest reviews before you commit a group, and keep one better round in the week. Myrtle Beach National SouthCreek ($59 late afternoon on Labor Day 2026) and the West course are cheaper ways to play a big-name complex.
