Atlas plate: Planning a Mesquite buddies golf trip: courses, where to stay and how to run a group

A Mesquite buddies golf trip works because everything is close: seven 18-hole courses in and around town, most of them about 5 to 11 minutes from downtown by road, plus Coyote Springs about an hour away. Groups of 4 to 8 usually stay in a villa, a rental house or a casino hotel, play one or two rounds a day, and spend the evenings in the casinos. The main things to plan around are foursome-only tee sheets, cancellation rules and the season.

Here is how to pick the courses, where to sleep, and the group logistics that trip leaders get asked about. Planning a stag weekend? The bachelor party golf guide for Mesquite covers 36-hole days and group rooms.

Picking the courses

A good buddies rotation mixes one or two big-name rounds with friendlier courses so nobody's game is wrecked by day three. Ratings below are from the back tees (USGA), and prices are what each booking engine showed for late October 2026. Rates change.

Course Tips (yds, rating/slope) Late Oct 2026 morning rate Character
Wolf Creek6,785, 74.4/147$360 - $390The showpiece: canyon tees, drops of nearly 100 ft, 5+ hours

Oasis Canyons6,317, 71.0/137$190The harder Oasis course, narrow back nine
Oasis Palmer6,442, 71.5/138$190Short Arnold Palmer target golf
Falcon Ridge6,303, 70.9/135$203.04Plateau tees, new back-nine greens in 2026
CasaBlanca6,962, 74.2/141$160Flat, water on 13 holes, afternoon wind

Coyote Springs7,471, 76.8/149$123 - $214 (GolfNow)Nicklaus design, about an hour away

A few notes for groups:

  • Wolf Creek is the round everyone will want. Pick tees honestly: the Champions tees (6,153 yds) slope 140, and the club says rounds will most likely exceed five hours. Read the Wolf Creek course guide before you go.
  • The Oasis pair share a clubhouse, so you can play one in the morning and the other after lunch without moving the cars.
  • CasaBlanca and Palms are owned by the same company and can be packaged with CasaBlanca rooms.
  • Coyote Springs offers a $50 replay after a full-rate morning round (6:30 to 10:00 AM tee times), which suits a 36-hole day. Our 36 holes a day in Mesquite post covers the options.

Things to know before you book:

  • Masters Villas is a timeshare. Non-owner nights are limited and booked by phone, owners get first pick, and stays shorter than a week open only 90 days out. Two villas cover 8 to 12 golfers. Villa guests also qualify for the Oasis resident rate (amount not published).
  • Mesquite Vacation Rentals has strict cancellation: inside 30 days of arrival you forfeit everything. Listed guest counts can exceed realistic adult capacity, so count beds, not "sleeps 10". The Mesquite golf condo rentals guide compares villas and homes for groups.
  • Virgin River is the cheapest base, but the rooms are older and the casino is smoky; ask for a non-smoking building and floor.
  • Casino smoking. Nevada law lets casinos allow smoking on the gaming floor. If that bothers anyone in the group, the Hampton and the Holiday Inn Resort are casino-free.

Group tee time rules

Mesquite golf is set up for foursomes. Plan your group size around it.

  • Wolf Creek: foursomes only, no fivesomes, and the shop may pair singles and twosomes. Group sales: 702-345-6714.
  • Coyote Springs: no fivesomes (book two times, a 3 and a 2). Groups of 16 or more can book up to a year ahead.
  • Oasis: 2 players per cart, and the shop may pair singles and twosomes into foursomes.
  • Conestoga: two carts per foursome, cart and range balls included.
  • Falcon Ridge: handles outings of up to 144 players, and bookings are confirmed only by email, so make sure the organizer gets one.

Groups of six to eight need two tee times; booking them back to back keeps the group together. When one person books for everyone, that card carries the cancellation risk, so collect commitments before the deadlines below.

Cancellation and no-show rules

Course Rule
Wolf CreekCancel more than 48 hours out (groups of 11 or fewer) to avoid a charge; no-shows pay full rack
ConestogaCancel within 48 hours and the card on file is charged
Coyote SpringsCancel 48 hours ahead or pay the no-show charge; credit card required
Oasis Palmer and CanyonsCancel 24 hours ahead or pay the full green fee
Falcon RidgeCancel 24+ hours out or pay $50 per player

Packages vs booking it all yourself

For groups, a package or a golf desk saves the organizer a lot of phone calls. The Eureka golf desk (866-582-5386) books Wolf Creek, Conestoga, both Oasis courses, Falcon Ridge, CasaBlanca, Palms, six St. George courses and Coyote Springs, with quotes on request. Mesquite Gaming's coordinator (877-438-2929) handles CasaBlanca and Palms with a 20% room-and-golf discount and the group leader perk. Oasis package guests can book 180 days out instead of 60. Compare in Mesquite NV golf packages.

Evenings and food

  • Eureka: nearly 1,000 slots, live tables, a sportsbook, and Gregory's steakhouse (closed Monday and Tuesday) with four private dining rooms for a group dinner.
  • Virgin River: bowling, an arcade, a buffet and a sportsbook.
  • CasaBlanca: casino, sportsbook, spa and Katherine's Steakhouse.
  • At the course: Conestoga's 1880 Grille overlooks the 18th, with its own house lager. Check its hours first; one reviewer found the kitchen closed at 1 PM on a Saturday.

Flying in without clubs

Rental sets are available at several courses: Oasis (Srixon/Cleveland, $75 a day, $50 twilight, limited, so call ahead), Coyote Springs (Callaway, $60) and Conestoga (TaylorMade). Most groups fly into Las Vegas; see Las Vegas to Mesquite golf for the drive and the shuttle.

When to go

March and November have the best weather; summer is cheapest but dawn-only; most courses close in turn for overseed in September. Book early for spring. The best time to golf in Mesquite guide has the details, and for a ready-made plan with Coyote Springs, try the 5-day Mesquite golf itinerary.

Plan it on the map

The Mesquite golf map shows every course and hotel with rates, tees and drive times between them. Use it to put the group's lodging close to the courses you want.

Questions golfers ask

Is Mesquite good for a buddies golf trip?

Yes. There are seven 18-hole courses in and around town, most within minutes of downtown, plus Coyote Springs about an hour away. Lodging runs from cheap casino rooms to two-bedroom villas with golf carts and whole houses that sleep 8-16, and the casinos handle evenings.

Can a group of five play together in Mesquite?

Usually not as a fivesome. Wolf Creek is foursomes only, and Coyote Springs does not allow fivesomes and suggests booking two times (a 3 and a 2). Plan on foursomes or split threesomes, and expect the shop to pair singles or twosomes at some courses.

Where should a golf group stay in Mesquite?

For 4-6 golfers, a Masters Villas two-bedroom villa ($200 a night non-owner, when available) comes with a kitchen, garage and golf cart next to the Oasis range. Mesquite Vacation Rentals has houses for bigger groups. For casino nights, the Eureka has a golf desk and CasaBlanca offers group-leader perks.

Do group leaders get a free round in Mesquite?

At Mesquite Gaming's properties, golf groups playing CasaBlanca and/or Palms can get a free room and golf for the group leader, arranged by the Golf Package Coordinator at 877-438-2929.

What are the cancellation rules for group tee times in Mesquite?

They vary: Wolf Creek charges inside 48 hours for groups of 11 or fewer, and no-shows pay full rack rate. Conestoga and Coyote Springs also need 48 hours. Oasis needs 24 hours or charges the full green fee, and Falcon Ridge needs 24 hours or charges a $50 per player no-show fee.
