Las Vegas Golf Day Trip to Mesquite: Stay on the Strip, Play One Great Round

A Las Vegas golf day trip to Mesquite is very doable: from the center Strip it is 85.5 miles and about 1 hr 23 min on I-15 by Google Maps, and both cities share Pacific Time. Leave by about 7:00 AM for a 9:00 tee time. Wolf Creek is the round worth the drive; Coyote Springs is closer.

How long is the drive from the Strip to Mesquite?

The Google time was read on the afternoon of Friday, October 23, 2026, and included a 9-minute slowdown on I-15 N. The slow part is the urban stretch through Las Vegas, especially the Spaghetti Bowl interchange with US-95 at weekday rush hours. After the north valley it is open desert past Moapa and the Valley of Fire turnoff to the Mesquite exits. Services are sparse in between, so start with fuel and water in summer.

Once you are in Mesquite, nothing is far: Wolf Creek is 7 minutes from downtown, Oasis 5, CasaBlanca 5 and Conestoga 11.

Which Mesquite course is worth a day trip from Las Vegas?

Prices seen October 2026 for late October to November dates; they change often, and most 2027 peak prices were not posted.

Three things that trip up day-trippers:

• Rounds are long. The club says the average pace of play will exceed five hours, so do not book a 6:00 PM dinner reservation on the Strip.
• Cancellation. Cancel more than 48 hours out (groups of 11 or fewer) to avoid a charge; no-shows pay full rack rate.
• Dress code. No jeans or denim of any kind, no t-shirts and no tank tops.

The late-October 2026 afternoon rate was $310 from about 1:10 PM, but twilight there is non-refundable and finishing is not guaranteed. For a day trip, the morning is worth the extra $50 to $80.

Without a car: the shuttle to CasaBlanca

The Salt Lake Express shuttle leaves from LAS Terminal 1, Zero Level, Courtesy Shuttle Zone, not from the Strip, and stops at CasaBlanca (950 W Mesquite Blvd). CasaBlanca Golf Club is on the resort property.

The 6:30 AM departure reaches CasaBlanca about 7:55 AM. That fits a morning round, including CasaBlanca's winter pattern of a 10:00 AM block of tee times. A round there leaves the 3:36 PM or 6:01 PM bus back. Changes are free and tickets are refundable up to one hour before departure. Schedules may differ on weekends and in other seasons, so check the date you want. Getting from CasaBlanca to the other courses without a car is harder; the hotel records mention no golf shuttle.

Coyote Springs: the halfway option

Coyote Springs is not in Mesquite, but for a Strip-based golfer it is the easy answer: 56 minutes by Google Maps, no time change, and the one 18-hole course in the area that does not close for fall overseed, on year-round rye and bentgrass.

• Rates seen October 2026 (GolfNow): $123 to $214 with cart from late October to Nov 29, 2026; then a flat $119 Mon-Thu, $130 Fri and Sun and $137 Sat through Jan 21, 2027.
• 36 holes: a $50 replay after a full-rate morning round (6:30 to 10:00 AM tee times).
• Food: Mitch's Bar & Grill serves breakfast 7 to 11 AM daily, plus lunch and dinner.
• Getting there: the club advises against relying on Uber or Lyft, since rides back are hard to get. Drive yourself.

Can you play 36 on a Mesquite day trip?

Yes, if the days are long enough. The cleanest options:

• Coyote Springs plus replay: morning round, then the $50 replay. Summer replays (May 26 to Aug 31) must be off the course by 5 PM.
• The Oasis double: Palmer and Canyons share a clubhouse, both list a 4 hr 30 min pace and both had $130 afternoon rates in fall 2026.

When a Mesquite day trip makes sense, and when it doesn't

• Best months: October and November (after overseed) and February to April. Peak rates apply, but the weather is the reason.
• Winter: December and January bring frosty mornings and mid-morning tee times. That actually suits a day trip, since you are not racing the sunrise.
• Summer: normal highs of about 104F in June and 109F in July mean dawn tee times, which means a very early start from the Strip.
• September: Mesquite's 18-hole courses close in turn for overseed, and on the stored dates there was roughly a Sep 14 to 26 stretch with none open. Go to Coyote Springs instead. See Mesquite golf overseed in September.
• Las Vegas event weeks: CES (Jan 6 to 9, 2027), March basketball, SEMA (Nov 3 to 6, 2026), the F1 race (Nov 19 to 21, 2026) and NFR (Dec 3 to 12, 2026) bring heavy traffic, and the F1 race closes Strip-area roads.
