The public Green Valley courses

Haven is the oldest course in Green Valley, opened in 1965 to an Arthur Jack Snyder design. It is flat and tree-lined, with wide fairways, big greens, a few small lakes and pecan groves, and it is the walkable choice. Tees run from 6,905 yards down to 5,095, with slopes from 124 to 106 for men. There is a range, a chipping green and a 9-hole walking-only pitch-and-putt with 50 to 90 yard holes. Reservations open 7 days ahead for two or more players, according to an undated listing.

Torres Blancas is a Lee Trevino layout (with Ocampo and Fernandez) opened in 1995, with three lakes, many bunkers and undulating greens. It is public, the cart and tax are included in the green fee, and prices float with demand. Five tee sets run from 7,111 to 5,010 yards. See our Torres Blancas golf guide.

Canoa Ranch is the newest, a 2003 desert course by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley with bentgrass greens, views of Elephant Head and five tee sets from 6,701 to 4,440 yards. It is the sister club of Torres Blancas and is open year-round. Rates are not published online. See our Canoa Ranch golf guide.

The semi-private courses

San Ignacio is an Arthur Hills desert course from 1989 on the west side of Green Valley. It sells public tee times online, and its signature 13th is a 522-yard par 5 from raised tees. Late-October 2026 rates, mostly $51 to $72, ran well above September's $27.99 to $43.99. See San Ignacio golf.

Quail Creek is a 27-hole Robson 55+ community club in Sahuarita, east of I-19, with Quail, Coyote and Road Runner nines. Visitors can book at the non-resident rate, which is the highest in Green Valley; renters inside Quail Creek pay resident rates. See Quail Creek golf in Green Valley.

The private clubs

Desert Hills Golf Club of Green Valley is an equity, member-owned club opened in 1979. It is not open to visitors except through membership, though it has advertised introductory memberships and a reciprocal program.

The Country Club of Green Valley is a private, member-owned club in Country Club Estates; play is for members and their guests. It offers partial-year memberships from one month up to six consecutive months for people whose main home is elsewhere, though one third-party guide says three months minimum. Dues are not published. Our private golf clubs in Tucson guide covers reciprocal play.

Closed: Canoa Hills

Canoa Hills, once called San Ignacio North, closed about 2013. The owner donated the 130 acres to Pima County, approved in 2018, and it is now Canoa Hills Trails, with 5.5 miles of paved loops. Older listings still show green fees, so ignore them. Canoa Hills is not Canoa Ranch.
