Canoa Ranch rates
No green fees were published on the club site on October 26, 2026. Its sister club uses dynamic pricing, so expect a similar demand-based system, but that is not confirmed for Canoa Ranch. The practical way to price a round is the club's online tee sheet or a call to the shop.
To give a sense of the local market, here is what we saw at other Green Valley courses (rates change):

Our Tucson golf rates guide covers the wider area by season.
The course
Canoa Ranch is a desert course south of Green Valley with mountain views toward Elephant Head. Our research found five tee sets from 6,701 yards down to 4,440, bentgrass greens and bermuda tees and fairways. Par was not confirmed, and no USGA ratings or slopes were found.
The 4,440-yard forward tees are the standout for higher handicappers: they make Canoa Ranch one of the shortest full-length options in the area. At the other end, the 6,701-yard back tees are shorter than the 7,111 at Torres Blancas or the 6,772 at San Ignacio.
Our take: the newest of the Green Valley public courses, with bent greens and mountain views, and a good pick for a better-conditioned round at the south end of town.
Canoa Ranch vs Canoa Hills
This trips people up. Canoa Hills was a separate course near San Ignacio, once called San Ignacio North. It closed about 2013. The owner donated the 130 acres to Pima County, approved 4-1 in 2018, and the county's Regional Flood Control District took over in late 2019. It is now Canoa Hills Trails, a walking park with 5.5 miles of paved loops.
Older Canoa Hills listings may still show green fees, but they are out of date. If a site quotes a Canoa Hills tee time, it is wrong. Canoa Ranch, opened in 2003, is the open course. Our closed golf courses in Tucson guide lists the other closures.
When to play Canoa Ranch
| Months | Golf shop hours |
|---|---|
| June to September | Sunrise to 1 PM |
| October to December | Sunrise to 3 PM |
| January to May | Sunrise to 4 PM |
Green Valley winter mornings are cold: the January normal low is 36.1F, about 5F below Tucson's airport, so first tee times can be delayed by frost. Call the Frost and Heat Index line, 520-352-1082, before driving. No overseed dates were published; most Tucson-area courses overseed between mid-to-late September and October, so call ahead for an early-fall round.
Peak demand in the Tucson area runs January to April. See best time to golf in Tucson and Tucson winter golf.
Getting to Canoa Ranch golf from Tucson
Canoa Ranch is off I-19 at the Canoa Ranch exit, about 44 minutes and 32.9 miles from downtown Tucson on our routed estimate. Tucson International Airport (TUS) is about 17 minutes from downtown on the south side, so it is the natural airport for a Green Valley golf day. From Tucson stays:
| From | Drive to Canoa Ranch |
|---|---|
| Hampton Inn Tucson-Airport | 42 min, 29.9 mi |
| Casino Del Sol Resort | 46 min, 32.1 mi |
| JW Marriott Starr Pass | 52 min, 35.7 mi |
That is a long drive for a single round from the Foothills resorts, so Canoa Ranch works best paired with a second stop: Tubac village, Tumacacori National Historical Park about 15 minutes south of Tubac, or a second round in Green Valley. Arizona keeps Mountain Standard Time all year, one hour ahead of California and Las Vegas in winter.
Canoa Ranch for higher handicappers and couples
With forward tees at 4,440 yards and five sets in all, Canoa Ranch suits couples and groups with a wide spread of handicaps. Lessons and clinics are offered, and the restaurant and event space make it an easy place to finish a day. For a stronger player who wants a firmer test the same week, San Ignacio is rated 135 slope from its Black tees.
