Indio golf courses: the east end's value rounds, course by course

Indio golf courses are the value end of the Coachella Valley: nine bookable courses, from the dramatic Terra Lago North to a lit par-3 that runs night golf until 10 PM, most of them priced below the La Quinta and Palm Desert resort courses. They sit 30 to 38 minutes from downtown Palm Springs, near I-10 at the east end of the valley.

This guide covers each of the Indio golf courses, neighbouring Bermuda Dunes, and the hotels and RV resorts that make Indio a snowbird base. Fees were seen in 2026 and change by date.

Terra Lago: North and South

The 36-hole Golf Club at Terra Lago, the former Landmark Golf Club, is a 1999 Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design. Both courses are about 7,050 yards from the back and slope 137.

• North is the tougher one: a desert target course in the Indio foothills with elevated tees, blind shots, big elevation changes and an island-green par-3 15th. It hosted the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. GolfNow notes wind is usually strongest in April and May.
• South is a little gentler and a fair-value full-length round. It was bookable on October 18, 2026, at about $72 to $102.49, while the North was closed.

Eagle Falls at Fantasy Springs

Eagle Falls is a Clive Clark course owned by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, open for public play. It closed for reseeding from September 28 and reopened November 2, 2026, with about two weeks of cart path only. The resort's rates page returned an error, so no 2026 card was found. Big Rock, Heritage Palms and Shadow Hills

• Big Rock at Indian Springs: the renamed Indian Springs, a plain, inexpensive, flat full-length course with the Big Rock Pub attached, which runs live music. Online rates have been far below the rack rate; a member review reported a $105 green fee in May 2025.
• Heritage Palms: a friendly, flat Arthur Hills course inside a gated 55+ community, with seven tee options including Middle/Forward combos that suit couples and older snowbirds. Expect about three weeks of cart path only after its November 7 reopening. See the Heritage Palms course guide.
• Shadow Hills South: a Troon-managed Schmidt-Curley course from 2004 in the Del Webb Sun City Shadow Hills community. It closes in summer, so it is a November-to-spring round. Residents get Player's Card rates.
• Shadow Hills North: the short course next door, open year-round, listed among GolfPass Golfers' Choice Top 25 Short Courses in the US for 2026 per the club. Summer 2026 rates for loyalty members, residents and resident guests were $35 to $40 for 18; a public rate was not listed.

Indian Palms and the lit par-3

Indian Palms is a 27-hole resort with Indian, Mountain and Royal nines and a hotel on site. It is older and short, with water on 15 of the 27 holes, and its signature is the Mountain 5th, a 301-yard par 4 to an island green. Its published card lists 18 holes with cart at $40 before noon, $30 in the afternoon and $25 for nine.

Indio Golf Course is the city's 1965 par-3, lit for night golf until 10 PM with a lit range. Walking is the norm; a cart is optional at $30, rental clubs are $25 and juniors 15 and under pay $10. Summer rate was $40 to October 27, 2026. It makes a good evening round or a warm-up for a group.

Private golf in Indio and Bermuda Dunes

• The Plantation: private and invitation-only; Golf Digest describes it as a men-only club. Member-guest only.
• Bermuda Dunes Country Club: private equity club with 27 holes by Billy Bell Jr., a former Bob Hope Classic rota course. Club documents list guest fees of $125 to $130 from November 1 to May 31, family guests $66 to $70, and a maximum of 14 guest rounds a season.
• Motorcoach Country Club: nine par-3 holes free for lot owners and registered guests; the club does not say the public can play.

Status unclear, call first: the course at Outdoor Resort Indio, and the course at The Vineyards motorcoach resort in neighbouring Coachella. See private golf clubs in Palm Springs.

Timing Indio golf

Coachella (April 9-11 and 16-18, 2027) and Stagecoach (April 23-25, 2027) are in Indio, and the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival runs at the Indio fairgrounds in mid-to-late February (2027 dates not officially published). Avoid booking rooms near Indio on festival weekends; golf midweek between them can be good value.
