Mid-valley, for the most courses. The Holiday Inn Express Palm Desert and Embassy Suites Palm Desert sit across Highway 111 from each other, 4 to 5 minutes from Indian Wells Golf Resort Celebrity and its sister Players course. The Embassy Suites' two-room suites, free breakfast and evening reception suit a foursome sharing rooms, though self-parking is about $15 and its Google rating is a low 3.3. The Residence Inn and Courtyard at Cook Street and Frank Sinatra Drive are 3 minutes from Desert Willow Mountain View; the Residence Inn's kitchen suites make it one of the better value bases for a longer stay.

East end, for PGA West and Indio. The Embassy Suites La Quinta is the value suite hotel near the Pete Dye Dunes course and SilverRock, with free breakfast and parking. In Indio, the Best Western Date Tree has kitchenette suites and a well-reviewed free breakfast, 5 minutes from Heritage Palms; the Hampton Inn is 4 minutes from the Indio Golf Course, a lit par-54 city course and the only night golf in the valley; and the Holiday Inn Express is 5 minutes from Eagle Falls next to Fantasy Springs Casino. For a snowbird week or two, a kitchen saves more than a lower room rate. The Residence Inn Palm Desert has full kitchens in its suites (microwave, stove, dishwasher) plus free breakfast, and its listing suits 1 to 4 week stays. The Best Western Date Tree in Indio has kitchenettes in some suites, and the Hilton Garden Inn Rancho Mirage has a fridge and microwave in rooms. The fee trap at Palm Springs pool hotels

Several Palm Springs hotels look cheap until the fees land. From ResortFeeChecker and listings in October 2026:

The Ace's fee is among the highest in town and it hosts pool parties and DJ weekends, so it is not a quiet early-tee-time base. The Hyatt adds about $50 a night between fee and parking. The DoubleTree is the exception worth a look: a 289-room hotel on the Desert Princess course with balconies on every room, though guest golf rates were not confirmed. The Indian Wells Resort Hotel is the value play in Indian Wells: the cheapest of the Indian Wells Golf Resort partner hotels, with a free shuttle to Indian Wells Golf Resort. Past guest-stay prices on booking sites ran roughly $112 to $224 a night, not a 2026 quote. A TeeTimesUSA package listed 3 nights and 3 rounds on the Celebrity and Players courses from $964 in September 2025, with a fourth night free from June 1 to October 31, 2026.

When cheap hotels are cheapest

• June to September: the lowest rates of the year. Visit Greater Palm Springs quoted September 2025 at 50.7% occupancy and a $164.08 average daily rate. Golf means dawn tee times in highs of about 102F to 109F.
• October: $202.14 average daily rate in 2025, with many courses closed for overseed.
• November and December: shoulder rates and fresh rye, but Pride (November 6-8, 2026) fills Palm Springs hotels and Christmas to New Year is priced like peak.
• January to April: peak, with the Film Festival, The American Express, Modernism Week and the BNP Paribas Open. April festival weekends in Indio are the most expensive of the year; CoStar reported a $636 average daily rate across the market over Coachella's first weekend in 2025.
