November and December: the sweet spot, with closures
For many golfers, November is the best time to golf in Orlando: it is the driest month, and hurricane season ends on November 30. Prices sit below peak: Providence charges $99 before 2 pm in November-December against $149 in February-March, and Royal St. Cloud posted $69-72 before 1:30 pm for the same months. Disney's fall pricing runs about 20% below its winter peak until January 7, 2027.
The catch is overseeding. Some resort and high-end courses seed ryegrass into the bermuda in the fall so they stay green through winter frosts, and close for a few days to about three weeks. For 2026, Disney's Palm is closed November 9-27, Disney's Magnolia December 1-18, and Oak Trail November 9-12. Disney's Lake Buena Vista reopens November 9 after a full rebuild. Thanksgiving week and Christmas-New Year are among the busiest park weeks, but early December is quiet and good value. See Orlando golf in November and Orlando golf in December and January.
January to April: peak season
If weather matters more than price, January to April is the best time to golf in Orlando. Snowbirds settle in, and green fees and demand peak. January is the coolest month, at about 72F by day, and frost after a strong cold front can delay first tee times. The PGA Show fills International Drive hotels from January 26-29, 2027, and its Demo Day takes over Orange County National on January 26.
February and March carry the highest fees. March is the busiest month of the year: snowbirds, US spring breaks, Canadian March break and the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill (tournament week March 15-21, 2027) all overlap, and Easter is March 28. Book tee times and rooms early. April is one of the drier months and, after Easter, rates step down: Providence drops to $69 before 2 pm from April 1. The Orlando golf in March guide covers the peak in detail.
May: the quiet shoulder
May runs about 88F by day and gets humid as the wet season approaches late in the month. Snowbirds are gone, many courses drop to shoulder rates and tee sheets open up. Disney's spring pricing (about 20% savings) runs March 22 to May 31, 2027. Parks are relatively quiet until Memorial Day weekend, so May suits a family that wants both parks and golf without the crowds.
June to September: cheap golf at dawn
Summer is humid heat with a daily thunderstorm cycle: highs of about 91-92F, 14 to 17 rain days a month, and storms with lightning building most afternoons. Golf is at its cheapest, with Disney advertising about 40% savings from June 1 to September 30, 2027 and Florida-resident deals at many public courses. Winter Park Pines drops from $55 to $45 Monday to Thursday with cart.
Book the first tee times, expect at least one stoppage on afternoon rounds, and check for aerification closures, which cluster from June to September. Hurricane season peaks from August to October. The summer golf in Orlando guide has the details.
October: the transition
October brings about 85F highs as the rains fade, with about 8 rain days. Courses come back from summer projects and some begin overseeding late in the month; the Omni's ChampionsGate page showed an overseed window in late October-early November in 2025. Hurricane risk remains: Milton crossed central Florida on October 9-10, 2024. Halloween events keep park evenings busy.
The best time to golf in Orlando by type of trip
There is no single answer; it depends on the trip.
- Buddies trip: November or late April, for dry weather and lower rates. Avoid March unless you book early. See the Orlando buddies golf trip guide.
- Family trip with parks: early December, May or late August-September, when park crowds are lighter; play at dawn in summer.
- Snowbird winter: November to April, with booking windows and passes doing the work.
- Big-ticket rounds: Grande Lakes closes to guest play around the PNC Championship in December, and Bay Hill closes to Lodge guests for tournament week in March. Streamsong is cheapest from May 23 to September 14, 2027.
