The key number: Orlando buddies golf trip: tee times for big groups, vacation homes and a real budget

An Orlando buddies golf trip works best from a pool home on the ChampionsGate and Davenport side, with rounds at ChampionsGate, Providence, Southern Dunes and the Kissimmee daily-fee courses. Big groups need courses that take several tee times, a cancellation policy you can live with and a base with room for everyone. Budget about $90 a round in November, more in spring.

This guide covers the courses that suit 8 to 16 golfers, the booking rules that catch groups out, where to sleep, a sample budget and what to do at night. Rates were seen in November 2026 and change often.

Quick facts

  • Best base for groups: ChampionsGate, Reunion or Davenport vacation homes, about 20 minutes from Disney Springs.
  • Within 10 minutes of the Omni: two Norman 18s, Reunion's three (guests only) and ChampionsGate Country Club.
  • Sample four-round cost: about $357 a golfer before tax on November 2026 rates.
  • Group rules: Disney allows four per tee time; Providence needs 48 hours to cancel.
  • Weeks to avoid: PGA Show (Jan 26-29, 2027) and Arnold Palmer Invitational week (Mar 15-21, 2027).
  • Airport: MCO, 28 minutes to downtown and 29 to Disney Springs, free-flow.

Providence is the value standout: a gated-community daily-fee course at under $100 in November and December, with $59 after 2 pm. The Providence course guide has the rest. Falcon's Fire, a Rees Jones design about 10 minutes from Disney's main gate, calls itself a top-10 tournament facility in North America and is the natural pick for a 12 to 16 player scramble; see the Falcon's Fire course guide.

Orange County National is the other big-group hub. Crooked Cat hosted LIV Golf Orlando in 2023 and is wider than Panther Lake, which suits a mixed-ability group; the Crooked Cat course guide covers the layout. Book early for January to April mornings.

Group booking rules that matter

  • Four per tee time at Disney. Magnolia, Palm and Lake Buena Vista cap groups at four and ask for 24 hours to cancel.
  • 48 hours at Providence. Lock in numbers before you pay.
  • Prepaid deposits. GolfNow Hot Deals at Stoneybrook East need a $10 non-refundable deposit.
  • Ride-alongs. Reunion charges $40 per cart for a non-playing rider.
  • Guest-only courses. Reunion's Palmer, Watson and Nicklaus are for members and Reunion Resort guests. GolfLink showed Reunion tee times at $110-185 in September 2026, so some off-peak access may exist; confirm with the resort before you plan around it.
  • Club rentals. Most resort and higher-end daily-fee courses rent sets, but check the fleet before flying without clubs, especially in February and March.

Where a buddies group should stay

Vacation homes. For 8 or more, a house is usually the answer. ChampionsGate homes sit beside 36 holes of Norman golf, Solterra has big pool homes 8 minutes from the Omni courses, and Highlands Reserve has its own daily-fee course 1 minute away. Reunion homes are the way onto Reunion's three courses, but only if the home is in the Houseguest Program, and agencies quote a resort fee of about $35-40 per unit per night. Get golf access and community fees in writing. Our Orlando vacation homes for golf guide compares them.

Golf resorts.

On points. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Lake Buena Vista charges a $5.63 nightly destination fee, and the Hampton Inn Orlando-Maingate South is 6 minutes from ChampionsGate Country Club. Neither published a rate we could read.
