Locator map: Orlando golf trip itinerary: four days, five or six rounds you can actually book

This Orlando golf trip itinerary fits five or six rounds into four days at courses anyone can book: an arrival round near the airport, 36 holes at Orange County National, a Disney course and Shingle Creek on the way out. A second version bases the group at ChampionsGate for the Omni's two Greg Norman courses and the Davenport daily-fee courses.

Both versions avoid the guest-only courses (Bay Hill, Tranquilo and Reunion), which need a room at the right resort. Drive times are the map's free-flow estimates or the course records' own estimates, and ignore traffic: I-4 near the parks routinely adds 15-45 minutes. Rates were seen in November 2026 and change.

Quick facts

  • Rounds: five, or six with a twilight or a short nine.
  • Version A base: the Lodge at Orange County National, Winter Garden.
  • Version B base: Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, or a ChampionsGate vacation home.
  • Arrival airport: Orlando International (MCO).
  • Book first: Disney (90 days ahead).
  • Watch for: overseed closures in November-December, PGA Show Demo Day on Jan 26.

Version A: Orlando golf trip itinerary from Orange County National

Day Morning Afternoon Night
1Land at MCOEagle Creek, about 15 minutes from MCOOCN Lodge
2Panther LakeCrooked CatOCN Lodge
3Disney's Magnolia (or Palm)Free: park, pool or Disney SpringsOCN Lodge
4Shingle Creek, earlyFly home from MCO

Day 1: arrive and play. Take a midday flight into MCO and drive about 15 minutes to Eagle Creek, a big, well-bunkered Garl and Swan public course with a proper clubhouse and one of the better daily-fee options on the east side. It books on TeeItUp or GolfNow; GolfNow showed times from $40 for November 5, 2026. Then drive west to the Lodge.

Day 2: 36 holes at Orange County National. Stay at The Lodge at Orange County National, between two of Orlando's best public courses, and play both in a day. Panther Lake is the more traditional, tree-lined 18. Crooked Cat is wider and more open, the friendlier pick for a mixed group, but the wind matters more; it hosted LIV Golf Orlando in March 2023, and the club calls its back nine perhaps the best on the property. Rates are dynamic on TeeItUp, so book January-April mornings early. The Panther Lake course guide has the details.

For a sixth round, the Tooth is a $15 walking nine on site.

Day 3: Disney. Orange County National is about 20-25 minutes from the Disney parks via SR 429. Book Magnolia, the former PGA Tour course at 7,505 yards (76.6/142 from the back), on golfwdw.com 90 days ahead; play a forward set unless the group is strong. Disney's Palm, at 6,840 yards (73.3/134), is the better pick for a mixed-ability group. Carts are required and included, and each tee time holds four. An early tee time leaves the afternoon for a park, a pool or Disney Springs. See the Magnolia course guide.

Day 4: Shingle Creek and home. Shingle Creek, at Rosen Shingle Creek near International Drive and the Convention Center, is the best everyday resort course in that corridor: 7,213 yards at 74.3/137 from the back, well kept and easy to book on its site, by phone or on GolfNow. Reviewers report slow rounds on busy days, so take the first tee time and allow for traffic to MCO.

Version B: ChampionsGate and the south side

Day Morning Afternoon Night
1Land at MCOChampionsGate Country ClubChampionsGate
2ChampionsGate InternationalChampionsGate NationalChampionsGate
3ProvidenceRest, or a parkChampionsGate
4Southern Dunes or Mystic DunesFly home from MCO

Base: the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, with the two Norman courses 5 minutes away, or a ChampionsGate vacation home for a bigger group. The Omni's resort fee was $54.96 a night (May 2026) and self-parking $38, per resortfeechecker. ChampionsGate is about 20 minutes from Disney Springs free-flow.

Day 1: the warm-up. ChampionsGate Country Club is a newer community course, separate from the Omni's two Norman courses and about 9 minutes from the Omni. It sold GolfNow times from $49 on November 5, 2026, about a third of the Omni price, so it is also the budget swap for any day of this version.

Day 2: the Omni's 36. The International is Greg Norman's links-style course and the better-known of the two; GolfLink showed $140-189 for November 5, 2026, lower after 1:50 pm. The National is the friendlier parkland course, so play it second. Omni guests get priority, and the public books through GolfLink and GolfNow. Check overseed dates: in 2025 the National closed in late October and early November. The ChampionsGate International course guide has more.

Day 3: Providence. A well-liked daily-fee course in a gated Davenport community with clear prices: $99 before 2 pm in November-December, $149 before noon from February to March, $69 from April to September, plus 7% tax, with 48-hour cancellation. It is about 30 minutes from Disney.

Day 4: a serious test or a short drive. Southern Dunes at Haines City is Steve Smyers' sand-hill course, with big bunkers and real elevation, and one of the best public tests near Orlando. For a closer finish, Mystic Dunes is a Gary Koch course on rolling, sandy ground near Disney's south side, about 10 minutes from Animal Kingdom.

Adjusting the Orlando golf trip itinerary by season

  • November-December: Disney's Palm is closed November 9-27 and Magnolia December 1-18, 2026, so book whichever is open. See Orlando golf in November.
  • Late January: Orange County National is taken over for PGA Show Demo Day on January 26, 2027, and International Drive hotels fill that week.
  • March: the busiest month, with the Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 15-21, 2027) and spring breaks. Book everything as soon as windows open.
  • June to September: move every round to the first tee time. Afternoon thunderstorms with lightning come most days; take the 36-hole day out and play 18 a day instead.

What this trip costs

A full budget for this Orlando golf trip itinerary is not possible from published rates alone, because Orange County National, Shingle Creek, Mystic Dunes and Southern Dunes use dynamic pricing and Disney publishes only seasonal percentages. Expect January-April to be the dearest and June-September the cheapest. For the figures that are published, see Orlando golf rates.

For a bigger group, read the Orlando buddies golf trip guide; for families, the Orlando golf family vacation; for the big-picture plan, the Orlando golf trip guide; and for where to eat on each night, where to eat in Orlando. To compare with a Gulf coast trip, see the Naples golf trip itinerary.

Questions golfers ask

How many rounds can you play on a 4-day Orlando golf trip?

Five or six is realistic: an arrival-day round, 36 holes on one day, and one round on each of the other days. Orange County National makes the 36-hole day easy, because Panther Lake and Crooked Cat share one site and the Lodge sits between them.

What is the best base for an Orlando golf trip?

For a golf-first group, the Lodge at Orange County National, which puts two of Orlando's best public courses at the door and is about 20-25 minutes from the Disney parks via SR 429. For 36 holes at a full resort, the Omni at ChampionsGate, with two Greg Norman courses 5 minutes away.

Can I play Bay Hill or Reunion on an Orlando golf trip?

Only if you stay there. Bay Hill is for members and guests of Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, and Reunion's three courses are for Reunion Resort guests, partner vacation-home renters and members. This itinerary uses courses anyone can book.

How far ahead should I book an Orlando golf trip?

Book Disney the day its 90-day window opens and other courses as soon as their windows open, especially for January-April mornings. Rooms near the parks and the Convention Center fill early in event and holiday weeks.

When should I avoid this itinerary?

Check closures first: Disney's Palm is closed November 9-27 and Magnolia December 1-18, 2026 for overseeding, and Orange County National is taken over for PGA Show Demo Day on January 26, 2027. In summer, move every round to the first tee times because of afternoon storms.

How much does a 4-day Orlando golf trip cost?

We cannot give a reliable total, because several courses on this itinerary use dynamic pricing and publish no rate card. Published examples: Providence $99-149 before noon by season, the Omni's International course $140-189 on GolfLink for November 5, 2026, and Eagle Creek from $40 on GolfNow the same day.
