Slope ladder: Orlando vacation homes for golf: ChampionsGate, Reunion, Highlands Reserve and Solterra

Orlando vacation homes for golf cluster south-west of Disney, in ChampionsGate, Reunion, Highlands Reserve and Solterra. Reunion is the one community where a rental can unlock guest-only golf, through its Houseguest Program. ChampionsGate puts two Greg Norman courses minutes away, and Highlands Reserve has its own daily-fee course. Get golf access and fees in writing.

This guide is for groups, families and couples weighing an Orlando vacation home against a hotel: what golf each community offers, how renters book it, what fees to expect and what to ask before you pay. Owners set their own rates and none were read for this guide; community details were checked in November 2026.

Quick facts

  • Main golf home communities: ChampionsGate, Reunion, Highlands Reserve (Davenport), Solterra (Davenport).

Reunion: the vacation home that unlocks guest-only golf

Reunion's three courses, the Palmer, the Watson and the Nicklaus, are restricted to members and Reunion Resort guests. Renters in owners' homes get in through the Reunion Houseguest Program, and guests of partner vacation-home managers in Reunion can book too. So the first question for any Reunion rental is whether it is on the program.

The catch is the fee. Agencies quote a mandatory Reunion resort fee of about $35-40 per unit per night, whether you book the hotel or a private villa, which adds $1,000 or more to a month. Non-playing riders pay $40 a cart. Agency listings mention a water park, pools and a shuttle.

GolfLink did show some Reunion tee times at $110-185 in September 2026, so off-peak access for non-guests may exist, but do not plan a trip around it. The Nicklaus course has the best Google rating of the three (4.6); see the Reunion Nicklaus course guide and our Reunion Resort golf guide.

ChampionsGate: two Norman courses next door

ChampionsGate homes and condos sit beside the International and National courses at the Omni Orlando Resort. Both are open to the public, with Omni hotel guests getting priority; GolfLink showed International at $140-189 for November 5, 2026. Whether a rental includes resort-rate golf depends on the owner, so get it in writing. See the ChampionsGate International course guide.

The community has its own clubhouse and pools. For cheaper rounds, ChampionsGate Country Club is a separate community course 9 minutes away, from $49 on GolfNow for November 5, 2026. Our ChampionsGate golf guide covers all three.

Highlands Reserve: golf at the door

Highlands Reserve Golf Club is a daily-fee course surrounded by Davenport vacation rentals off US 27, about 25 minutes from Disney. It is a Mike Dasher design of 6,633 yards from the Black tees (71.9/123), so it is one of the friendlier tracks for a mixed group, and the course record calls it walkable golf for villa-based families. Renter terms were not read; confirm golf and amenity access with the owner. The Highlands Reserve course guide has the tees.

Polo Park East is 8 minutes away, from $15 on GolfNow for November 5, 2026.

Solterra: big pool homes, no course

Solterra suits a large group that wants a big pool home and is happy to drive to golf. There is no course in the community; the Omni courses are 8 minutes away, Reunion's Nicklaus 9 and Deer Creek RV Golf & Country Club 11.

More golf near the vacation-home belt

The Davenport and Kissimmee side has plenty of public golf for renters:

  • Providence: a gated-community daily-fee course at $99 before 2 pm in November and December 2026, about 30 minutes from Disney.
  • White Heron: the rebuilt Ridgewood Lakes, handy for Davenport villa renters, from $43 on GolfNow for November 5, 2026.
  • Mystic Dunes: a public par 72 at a timeshare resort with kitchen suites, if you would rather have a resort desk than a house.

Our Davenport golf guide lists every course in the belt.

What to ask before you book an Orlando golf vacation home

  1. Golf access. Is the home on Reunion's Houseguest Program, or does the owner pass on any ChampionsGate or Highlands Reserve rate? Get it in writing.
  2. Every fee. Resort fee, community fees, cleaning and deposits, plus Florida sales tax and the county tourist development tax on stays of six months or less.
  3. Rules. Many communities set minimum stays, and county short-term-rental zoning applies; our research did not verify each community's rules. Osceola zoning is understood to allow nightly rentals in ChampionsGate, but verify.
  4. Timing. January to March is the most expensive stretch, and holiday and spring-break weeks cost most of all.
  5. Drive times. I-4 near the parks adds 15 to 45 minutes at peak times.

When Orlando golf vacation homes are hardest to get

Vacation homes in Kissimmee, Davenport, ChampionsGate and Reunion are the value base for groups and families, and the usual snowbird base for one- to four-month winter stays, so three kinds of renter compete for them at once. Snowbirds fill homes from November to April, peaking January to March. Canadian families add to demand around March break, and US spring breaks and Easter (March 28, 2027) bring the most crowded park weeks of the year. The Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 15-21, 2027) now lands in the same stretch.

The easiest months are November outside Thanksgiving week and early December, which are also the driest of the year at about 74-78F highs. Watch for overseed closures then: the Omni's National course showed a late October to early November overseed in 2025, and 2026 dates were not published. From June to September homes are easier to find and golf is cheapest, but expect afternoon storms most days and book dawn tee times.

Vacation home or hotel?

For 8 or more golfers, a home usually wins: one kitchen, one pool, no per-room resort fee. For a foursome, compare a home with the Omni, where the resort fee was $54.96 a night and self-parking $38 in 2026. A buddies group should read Orlando buddies golf trip; families mixing parks and golf should read Orlando golf family vacation. Staying a month or more? See Orlando snowbird rentals. For the hotel side, see where to stay in Orlando for golf.

Questions golfers ask

Which Orlando vacation homes come with golf?

Homes in Reunion that are on the Reunion Houseguest Program give access to the Palmer, Watson and Nicklaus courses. ChampionsGate homes sit beside the Omni's two Norman courses, and Highlands Reserve homes surround a daily-fee course, but resort-rate golf for renters there depends on the owner.

Can I play Reunion if I rent a vacation home there?

Only if the home is in the Reunion Houseguest Program, which gives renters resort access including golf. Reunion's three courses are otherwise for members and resort guests. Ask the owner or agency before you pay.

What extra fees come with an Orlando golf vacation home?

At Reunion, agencies quote a mandatory resort fee of about $35-40 per unit per night, which adds $1,000 or more to a month. Florida also taxes rentals of six months or less as transient accommodations, with county tourist development tax on top. Community fees elsewhere vary by owner.

How far are ChampionsGate vacation homes from Disney?

About 20 minutes to Disney Springs from ChampionsGate, free-flow, with Animal Kingdom the closest park. Davenport is about 34 minutes from Disney Springs. Traffic on I-4 and around the parks adds to both.

Is there golf at Solterra Resort?

No. Solterra has no course of its own, but the ChampionsGate International and National courses are 8 minutes away and Reunion's Nicklaus course 9, by road from a point inside the community.

How much do Orlando golf vacation homes cost?

Owners set their own prices and our research did not read any rates. January to March are the most expensive months for vacation homes, and Christmas-New Year, Presidents' Day week, spring breaks and Easter (Mar 28, 2027) push prices up further.

Are Orlando vacation homes better than a golf resort for a group?

Usually, for 8 or more. A home gives everyone a bed and a pool for less than several hotel rooms with resort fees of $47 to $62 a night each. A resort is simpler for a foursome and is the only way onto Bay Hill or Tranquilo.
