Atlas plate: Streamsong from Orlando: the drive south, 2026-27 green fees, and how to add it as a day or a night

Streamsong from Orlando is about two hours by car: roughly 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes from downtown to the Red, Blue and Black courses. Day guests can book 30 days ahead and pay $425 a round from October to mid-December 2026, or $445 from mid-January to April 2027. It works as a long day out, or better, one night.

Streamsong is a resort in Bowling Green, off the southern edge of our map. It is not a theme-park add-on; it is a golf-only side trip for a group that wants three modern courses by well-known architects. Prices are from Streamsong's fee page read on November 4, 2026, for the 2026-27 season.

Quick facts

  • Courses: Red (Coore & Crenshaw, 2012), Blue (Tom Doak, 2012), Black (Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner, 2017), plus Bone Valley (David McLay Kidd) and The Chain short course.
  • Access: resort guests and day guests; day guests book up to 30 days ahead.
  • Day-guest fee: $365 to $445 from October to April; $170 to $240 in summer.
  • Walking only: December 24 to February 28.
  • Carts: $35 per person, with a $60 group caddie required when riding.
  • Drive: about 114 to 132 minutes from downtown Orlando.

Streamsong from Orlando: the drive

Course Drive from downtown Orlando Miles Google rating
Streamsong Blue114 min85.44.8
Streamsong Red130 min87.74.8
Streamsong Black132 min87.94.6

These are free-flow drive times from OSRM, which ignores traffic. I-4 through downtown and the attractions corridor routinely adds 15 to 45 minutes at rush hour and around park opening and closing. A base on the south side of the board, around Davenport and ChampionsGate, starts you closer than downtown. Plan on leaving before dawn for a morning tee time, and remember that a pre-8am tee time needs a caddie.

2026-27 green fees

Period Resort guest Day guest
Oct 1-Dec 14, 2026$375$425
Dec 15, 2026-Jan 13, 2027$315$365
Jan 14-Apr 30, 2027$395$445
May 23-Sep 14, 2027$170-190$170-240

These apply to the Red, Blue and Black courses. Extras:

  • Carts: $35 per person, and not available December 24 to February 28, when the courses are walking only.
  • Caddies: paid directly; $120 and up for a double bag, $150 and up for a single, and a $60 group caddie is required with a riding cart.
  • The Chain: the short course is $95 for resort guests and $115 for day guests from October to May.

The cheapest window for a winter trip is December 15 to January 13, when the day-guest fee drops to $365. The summer rate is far lower, at $170 to $240, but brings Florida heat and afternoon storms, and each course closes one full weekday a week from June to September. Compare with fees closer to Orlando in Orlando golf rates.

The courses

Red is the Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw course, opened in 2012. Blue is Tom Doak's, from the same year. Black is Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner's, opened in 2017. Bone Valley is by David McLay Kidd; our files carry its 2027 aerification dates but not its fees. The Chain is a short course.

Our research files hold the designers, fees and closures, but not yardages, ratings or slopes for any of the Streamsong courses.

Weekly closures and aerification

Each course takes one weekday off in the shoulder and summer seasons:

Course October-November June-September Greens aerification 2027
Redclosed Tuesdays from 11amclosed all day TuesdaysJuly 11-22
Blueclosed Mondays from 11amclosed all day MondaysAugust 15-26
Blackclosed Wednesdays from 11amclosed all day WednesdaysJuly 27-August 5

Bone Valley's aerification runs June 28 to July 8, 2027. For a two-course day in October or November, avoid the afternoon closure of the course you want second: for example, Red in the morning and Black in the afternoon works on a Monday but not on a Wednesday.

Day trip or one night?

As a day trip: leave Orlando before dawn, play one 18, perhaps The Chain, and drive back. That is about four hours in the car for one round, and walking only in midwinter means a long day.

With one night: play an afternoon round on arrival, stay over, play a second course in the morning and drive back. This is the better plan for a buddies group. Resort guests pay $50 less per round than day guests for most of the season (up to $50 less in summer), which offsets part of the room. Our files do not include Streamsong's rooms or room rates, so check them with the resort.

For the rest of the trip, a base on the south side of Orlando keeps the drive shortest. The Davenport and ChampionsGate vacation homes and hotels are covered in Davenport FL golf and where to stay in Orlando for golf.

Booking Streamsong from Orlando

  • Count back 30 days. Day guests can book up to 30 days ahead, so set a reminder for the morning the window opens, especially for January to April.
  • Check the closure day. Before you pick a date, check which course closes that weekday (table above) and plan the second round around it.
  • Decide walk or ride. From December 24 to February 28 everyone walks. At other times, riding means $35 per person plus the $60 group caddie.
  • Budget the caddie. Caddies are paid directly, from $120 for a double bag and $150 for a single.
  • Ask about the room. Our files have no Streamsong room rates, so price the night against the $50 resort-guest saving per round before you decide on a day trip.

Golf on the way: Lake Wales and Southern Dunes

Lake Wales Country Club is a historic club in Lake Wales that sells public tee times on GolfNow, from $26 for November 5, 2026. It is about an hour south of Disney (estimate) and 78 minutes from downtown Orlando, and the research pairs it with Bok Tower Gardens or a Streamsong trip. Par, tees and designer are not in our files. See the Lake Wales course guide.

Southern Dunes in Haines City, Steve Smyers' sand-hill course with about 100 feet of elevation change, is a sandy, hilly course that suits the same kind of group. It sells public tee times and is about 52 minutes from downtown.

A sensible three-day south-side swing: Southern Dunes on day one, drive to Streamsong for an afternoon round, a second Streamsong course the next morning, and Lake Wales on the way back north.

When to go

  • October to mid-December: dry autumn weather; November is the driest month at Orlando International. Day guests pay $425.
  • Mid-December to mid-January: the cheapest winter rate ($365), but walking only from December 24.
  • Mid-January to April: peak price ($445) and walking only until February 28. Book the 30-day window the moment it opens.
  • Summer: $170 to $240, with one full closure day a week per course and afternoon thunderstorms. Book first light.
