Oasis Golf Club in Mesquite offers the Palmer and the Canyons, two 18-hole courses sharing one clubhouse about 5 minutes from downtown. The Palmer is Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay's 1995 desert target course, short but precise. The Canyons adds a 2005 Dave Druzisky front nine to Palmer's original back nine and is rated the harder of the two. Both charged $190 for fall 2026 mornings, and St. George and Clark County residents get a resident rate.
Here's how the two compare and how to play them.

Both are at 100 Palmer Lane, Mesquite, NV 89027 (702-346-7820). The club is semi-private with more than 350 members but open to public play. For how the Palmer compares on forward tees, see the easiest golf courses in Mesquite; the hardest Mesquite courses guide ranks both Oasis layouts by slope.
The Palmer Course
The Oasis Palmer is desert canyon target golf with canyon drop-offs, mountain backdrops and environmentally sensitive desert areas (ESAs). At 6,442 yards from the Black tees it's short, but it slopes 138. Precision beats power here.
Palmer named holes 5, 6 and 8 among the best 18 he ever designed. All three are lined with ESA desert: left and right on #5, right on #6, and left and short of the green on #8, a 524-yard par 5 from the Black tees.
The ESAs are marked with red stakes on #5, #6, #7 and #8, and you can't enter them, even to find your ball. Take your drop and move on.

USGA ratings, checked October 2026. They match the July 2026 scorecard.
The Canyons Course
The Oasis Canyons routes through washes, red-rock cliffs and canyon walls. It started as Palmer's "Vistas" nine in 1995. When Druzisky's new front nine opened in 2005, the Vistas became the back nine of a full 18. The scorecard credits Druzisky as architect.
The front plays a lot like the Palmer. The back nine is where it earns its rating: it demands length and precision to narrow targets, with canyon carries. The 6,343-yard card is misleading for that reason.
Canyons tees
| Tee | Yards | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue | 6,317 | 71.0/137 | - |
| Blue/White | 6,006 | 69.6/127 | - |
| White | 5,796 | 68.7/125 | 74.4/145 |
| White/Gold | 5,553 | 67.6/121 | 72.8/142 |
| Gold | 5,329 | 66.3/119 | 71.5/135 |

| Red | 4,748 | 64.2/102 | 68.0/125 |
Note the women's slopes: from the White and White/Gold tees the Canyons rates 145 and 142, among the stiffest women's numbers in Mesquite.
Oasis green fees
Both courses charge the same online rack rate. These are from the official MemberSports tee sheet, sampled in October 2026. No tax was shown. Earlier listings say a cart is included, though the engine doesn't show it.
| Period | Morning | Afternoon |
|---|---|---|
| Fall 2026 (late Oct - Nov 28) | $190 (before about 1 PM in Oct, noon in Nov) | $130 |
| Dec 2026 - Jan 2027 | $155 | $105 from noon |
| Feb 2027 | $180 - $190 before noon | $120 from noon |
| Mar - Apr 2027 | $210 before 2 PM | $140 from 2 PM |
| May 2027 | $155 | $105 from 2 PM |
| Summer 2027 (Jun - Aug samples) | $120 | No afternoon times shown |
In summer, online times run only to about 12:30 PM. In summer 2026, GolfNow "Hot Deals" on the Canyons ran about $81 to $110 with cart, often the cheapest way onto a quality Mesquite course in the heat. See Mesquite summer golf.
The county resident deal
This is one of the best local deals in the area. Oasis resident rates apply to verified residents of Clark County, Nevada and Washington County, Utah, so St. George locals qualify, plus guests of Masters Villas. Bring ID, book within 30 days, and the rate is applied at check-in after the shop verifies you. The online engine shows rack rates until then. The resident price isn't published; call 702-346-7820.
If you're based in St. George, our Mesquite golf day trip from St. George guide shows how to fit it in.
Booking and policies
- Public rack rate: 60 days ahead.
- Stay-and-play package guests: 180 days ahead.
- Residents: 30 days ahead.
- Cancellation: at least 24 hours before your round, or you're charged the full green fee.
- Pairing: the shop may pair singles and twosomes into foursomes.
- Carts: two players per cart, 90-degree rule on par 4s and 5s, cart path only on par 3s.
Overseed: the two courses are staggered
The Canyons closes for overseed about two weeks before the Palmer and reopens about a week earlier. In 2026:
| Course | Closed | Reopened |
|---|---|---|
| Canyons | Sep 2 | Oct 1 (Golf Zoo lists cart-path-only Sep 30 - Oct 3) |
| Palmer | Sep 14 | Oct 7 (cart-path-only may last 3-7 days) |
So from late August to early October, one of the two is usually open, apart from the overlap from Sep 14 to 30. Of the courses that published 2026 dates, the Palmer was the last to close. Prep, which means drying out the turf, starts 10 to 14 days before each closing. 2027 dates weren't posted as of October 2026.
Summer aeration also closes each course for about a week. In 2026 the Canyons was closed Jun 15 to 22 and the Palmer Jun 29 to Jul 6. Our September overseed guide has every course's dates.
Practice, clubhouse and rentals
- Range: large driving range, short-game area and several putting greens. Buckets are cheap: $5 for 30 balls, $8 for 60, $12 for 100. The range closes about four hours before sunset on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- Clubhouse: 29,000 sq ft, with the Grille Room (breakfast, lunch and a full bar), the Redd Room for events, a beverage cart and one of Mesquite's largest golf shops.
- Rentals: Srixon and Cleveland sets, $75 a day or $50 twilight. They're limited, so call ahead.
- Dress code: no denim on the course or range. Collared, crew or mock-neck shirts only, no t-shirts. No metal spikes, halter tops or gym shorts.
Where to stay
Oasis is in the middle of town, close to most hotels.
| Hotel | Drive |
|---|---|
| Masters Villas | 2 min, 0.3 mi (next to the range) |
| Virgin River Casino & Lodge | 3 min, 0.9 mi |
| Eureka Casino Resort | 4 min, 0.9 mi |
| Holiday Inn Resort | 4 min, 1.2 mi |
| Best Western Mesquite Inn | 4 min, 1.2 mi |
Masters Villas is the standout pairing: two-bedroom villas that sleep six, each with a golf cart, on the Oasis range. Villa guests also qualify for the Oasis resident rate. Non-owners pay $200 a night when Bonus Time is open. See Mesquite golf hotels.
Tips for playing Oasis Golf Club Mesquite's Palmer and Canyons
- Play the Palmer first if you're playing both. It's the gentler introduction.
- Don't chase balls into the red-staked ESAs.
- Hit balls before you go out. At $5 a bucket, there's no excuse.
- Book both on one day if you want 36 holes. See 36 holes a day in Mesquite.
- Mesquite is on Pacific Time, one hour behind St. George. A 9:00 tee time is 10:00 on a St. George clock.

Questions golfers ask
Which is harder, the Oasis Palmer or the Canyons course?
The Canyons. The club rates it the harder of the two, and its back nine (Arnold Palmer's original 1995 nine) needs carries to narrow targets. From the back, the Canyons is 6,317 yards with a 137 slope and the Palmer is 6,442 yards with a 138 slope, so the numbers are close but the Canyons plays tighter.
How much does it cost to play Oasis Golf Club?
Both courses charge the same online rack rate. Seen October 2026: $190 mornings and $130 afternoons in fall 2026, $155 and $105 in December and January, $210 before 2 PM in March and April 2027, and $120 for summer 2027 dates. Rates change.
Do St. George residents get a discount at Oasis Golf Club?
Yes. Oasis resident rates apply to verified residents of Clark County, Nevada and Washington County, Utah, so St. George locals qualify. Bring ID, book within 30 days, and residency is verified at check-in. The resident amount isn't published, so call 702-346-7820.
How far ahead can you book Oasis Golf Club?
60 days at the public rack rate, 180 days with a stay-and-play package, and 30 days for the resident rate.
When do the Oasis courses close for overseed?
In 2026 the Canyons closed Sep 2 to 30 and reopened Oct 1, and the Palmer closed Sep 14 to Oct 6 and reopened Oct 7. Because they overlap only for part of September, one of the two is open for most of late August to early October.
