Tierra Santa golf in Weslaco is open and is the pick of the mid-Valley public courses: a 1997 Jeff Brauer and Steve Elkington layout of 7,139 yards, rated 4.5 by GolfPass players. GolfNow tee times started from about $24 in October 2026, and a reviewer reported a $35 twilight with cart (undated). No club rate card is posted.

Weslaco sits in the middle of the Valley, about 30 minutes from downtown McAllen and about 36 from the Hampton Inn in Harlingen, so Tierra Santa works as a day out from either side or as the home course for a mid-Valley winter. GolfNow prices change, so the $24 figure is a starting point, not a promise. Winter Texan season, roughly November to March, is when it is busiest. The course and tees

Tierra Santa is a modern layout through a housing community, and it is the longest course in the mid-Valley in our research. It has four tee sets:

Most visiting golfers will be happiest on the Blue or White tees. The White set, at 6,045 yards and 110 slope, is gentle, and the Blue set adds about 550 yards for a fuller test. Conditions and pace

GolfPass players rate it 4.5 from 105 reviews, the best-rated public course in the mid-Valley on that site. Two things to know:

• Pace can drag on busy winter days. Book an early time if you want a quick round.
• Wet patches. An August 2026 review mentioned waterlogged paths and overwatered areas.

Booking Tierra Santa

Tee times are sold on GolfNow and GolfPass, and you can call the club on 956-973-1811. The club's booking window is not published. When to play

NOAA normals at McAllen, about 18 miles west, give a fair guide for Weslaco: November around 80.2F highs and 60.1F lows, January 72.8F and 52.7F, February 77.4F and 56.9F, and March 83.2F and 62.7F. Wind builds through spring, averaging about 11.5 mph in March and 12.2 mph in April. The west and central Valley, including Weslaco, is the drier base in winter compared with the Brownsville side. From June to September highs run about 94F to 99.6F, so summer golf here means the first tee time of the day.

How Tierra Santa golf in Weslaco compares

Tierra Santa's case is a strong layout at a GolfNow price. Here is how it lines up with other public 18s within reach, on figures seen in October 2026:

Los Lagos is longer and harder, but its GolfPass score is 1.9 from 72 reviews and it is changing management. Monte Cristo is well liked (4.3 from 355 reviews) but sits in a 55+ community, so confirm visitor access. Llano Grande is the cheapest but draws complaints about conditions. On the reviews in our research, Tierra Santa is the best balance of course quality, condition and price in the middle of the Valley, which is why it is worth the 30-minute drive from McAllen for a visiting group.

Tierra Santa in a mid-Valley week

Weslaco is in the middle of the Valley. From a mid-Valley base such as Victoria Palms, you can reach the west and east courses in about half an hour:

• Llano Grande in Mercedes is the closest 18, about 18 minutes from Tierra Santa measured from the Llano Grande resort. • Tierra del Sol in Pharr and Champion Lakes in McAllen are the cheap west-side city rounds.
• Tony Butler in Harlingen is the east-side city course, a 27-hole municipal.

Getting there

Valley International in Harlingen (HRL) is central for Weslaco, with Southwest to Austin, Dallas Love and Houston Hobby, and winter nonstops from Minneapolis and, from December 19, 2026, Chicago O'Hare. McAllen (MFE) is the other option. See flights to McAllen for the comparison.
