Gulf Shores Golf Packages: What They Include and When Booking It Yourself Wins

Gulf Shores golf packages come in three kinds: hotel-and-golf bundles sold by Coastal Alabama Golf, Stay & Play deals built around the condos at Kiva Dunes, and multi-day golf specials from the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Almost none publish prices. A package is worth it when the quote beats the sum of the room and the green fees you'd book yourself, or when it gets you tee times you couldn't get alone.

Below is what we could verify in October 2026, what each includes, and how to check it against booking direct. Prices change, and many of these are "call for a quote," so treat this as a map of what exists.

Gulf Shores golf packages at a glance

Coastal Alabama Golf also lists named packages including "The Elite" and "Fort Morgan's Finest," which use Kiva Dunes, and "Pure Palmer," which includes Lost Key. Their contents and prices weren't recorded in our research, so call 251-968-5339.

Coastal Alabama Golf: the hotel bundles

These are the classic stay-and-play format: three nights and three rounds, quoted at double occupancy, with blackout dates.

The two hotels suit different trips. The Hampton Inn sits on Hwy 59 about 3 minutes from Gulf Shores Golf Club, with free hot breakfast, free parking and no resort fee, but a renovation runs through Jan 15, 2027. Its package keeps you inland: two Arnold Palmer courses at Craft Farms (8 minutes) and Peninsula (10 minutes).

The Courtyard is on the edge of Craft Farms, 5 minutes from the clubhouse, with free parking and a bar in the lobby. Breakfast costs extra. Its package swaps Cotton Creek for Kiva Dunes, the area's top-ranked public course (No. 13 in Golf Digest's 2025-26 Alabama list), which is 24 minutes away.

What the package solves: one call, three tee times, one bill. What it doesn't tell you: the price. Ask for the total per person, with tax.

Kiva Dunes Stay & Play: built for groups

Kiva Dunes is the most flexible package in the area. Groups of 2 to 100 can:

• Stay in Kiva Lodge or Kiva Village condos overlooking the course, or in beach homes
• Play Kiva Dunes only, or mix in Peninsula, Craft Farms or Gulf Shores Golf Club
• Pick morning or afternoon tee times, and how beds are shared
• Add breakfast at Kiva Grill
• Get free Golf Genius scoring and tournament management for group events

Even without a package, renters who book direct get a discounted golf rate and preferred tee times, except during peak golf season. Rentals can be cancelled 30 days before arrival for a refund, and the Kiva Beach Club (pool, beach, restaurant) is open to guests from March to November. Call 866-540-7100.

Two catches. Nothing is priced publicly, and the Fort Morgan peninsula is a drive from everything else: 27 minutes to Craft Farms and 53 to Lost Key.

Club-direct group deals

Some of the best-value Gulf Shores golf packages are sold by the golf clubs, not travel sellers:

• Peninsula + Craft Farms. The sister clubs sell group bookings across 63 holes through Kevin Whitney (251-968-8009), and Peninsula's group packages include unlimited range use.
• The Bunkhouse at Craft Farms. Six bedrooms with two queens each (12 queen beds) next to the first tee, with bag storage and carts staged on your tee-time days. No price in our research.
• Craft Farms Six-Pack. Not a package, but often better value: $420 for six rounds on either course (about $70 a round, valid to Feb 15, 2027) or $510 for the Extended card (about $85, to Mar 31). Orders close Nov 15, 2026.
• Rock Creek and Jubilee Suites, Fairhope. A $160 per person add-on to a suite for 18 holes, cart, range balls and a $20 food and drink card.
• Perdido Bay and Cottages On the Green next to the course. Stay-and-play is possible; no price published.

RTJ Golf Trail specials: published prices, long drives

The RTJ Trail is the one seller that prints its package prices. Specials need at least two days, booked through RTJ Reservations (1-800-949-4444, option 2) at least 48 hours ahead, up to 12 months out, and prepaid outside 7 days. Cart and unlimited range balls are included, tax is extra, and Trail Card discounts can't be combined.

The catch is geography. From central Gulf Shores, Lakewood is about 51 minutes and Magnolia Grove about 96 minutes by free-flow estimate. These make sense as a Mobile Bay day, not a base. See the RTJ Trail from Gulf Shores.

The Grand Hotel package

The Grand Hotel in Point Clear is the area's only true golf resort, with the 36-hole Lakewood Club on property. The Grand Golf Escape pairs a room with two rounds covering both courses (Azalea and Dogwood), valid July 28 to December 31, 2026 on Marriott. One undated third-party listing showed a 2-night, 2-round version from $895; we couldn't confirm it.

To price it yourself: the hotel lists green fees with cart of $226 through Nov 30, 2026, $205 from Dec 1, 2026 to Feb 28, 2027, and $249 from Mar 1 to Nov 30, 2027, with twilight $113 to $129. A January 2027 room snapshot was about $591 to $596 a night, plus a 15% resort fee that includes range balls and self-parking. It's about 46 minutes from Gulf Shores Golf Club and 64 from Kiva Dunes.

When booking it yourself beats Gulf Shores golf packages

For most Gulf Shores golf, booking direct is easy. Most courses sell tee times online, and Peninsula says booking direct online is always cheapest. Here's what the parts cost on dates we checked:

Add up three rounds and three nights from that list and you have the number a package quote has to beat. If it comes in well under, take it. If it's close, booking yourself keeps twilight rates and the freedom to swap a course.

Questions to ask before you pay

1. Per person or per room? The Coastal Alabama Golf bundles are quoted at double occupancy.
2. Which dates are blacked out? Both Coastal Alabama Golf hotel bundles have blackout dates.
3. Morning or twilight? Kiva Dunes' twilight saves about $30 to $40 a player.
4. Are card fees and tax included? Peninsula and Craft Farms add 3% for cards, and Lost Key adds 7.5% Florida tax plus 3%.
5. What's the cancellation policy? Kiva rentals refund 30 days out, while The Beach Club and Turquoise Place give no refunds for hurricane evacuation inside their cancellation windows.
