Map of the courses in this guide: Gulf Shores Golf Hotels: Where to Stay for Golf in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach

The best Gulf Shores golf hotels for your trip depend on which courses you'll play, because the courses sit in three clusters: Fort Morgan (Kiva Dunes, Peninsula), Hwy 59 and Craft Farms in Gulf Shores, and the Perdido side (Lost Key, Perdido Bay). Stay on Fort Morgan for Kiva Dunes, on Hwy 59 for the most courses within 10 minutes, and in Orange Beach for Lost Key. The only full-service hotel with golf on property is the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, about 45 minutes or more from the beach courses.

Below is every place to stay we researched for Gulf Shores and Orange Beach golf, with road drive times, rates seen in October 2026 and the fees that change the math.

The pattern is clear. Kiva Dunes is 20 minutes or more from almost everywhere except Fort Morgan, and Lost Key is 17 to 29 minutes from the Orange Beach hotels but 33 to 37 from Hwy 59 and the Gulf Shores beachfront. Pick your base after you pick your courses.

Stay on the course: Kiva Dunes, Lost Key and the Grand Hotel

Kiva Dunes rentals. Condos in Kiva Lodge and Kiva Village overlook the course, and beach homes suit bigger groups. Renters who book direct get discounted golf and preferred tee times outside peak golf season, plus access to the Kiva Beach Club from March to November. The resort builds Stay & Play packages for 2 to 100 golfers, mixing Kiva Dunes with Peninsula, Craft Farms or Gulf Shores Golf Club. Cancel 30 days out for a refund. No rates are published (866-540-7100).

Lost Key condo rentals. Two- and three-bedroom condos in a gated community on Lost Key Golf Club in Perdido Key, Florida. A foursome fits one 3-bedroom unit, and Perdido Bay is 9 minutes away. Golf isn't included. One listing describes a membership transfer for some units, but that's unverified.

Grand Hotel, Point Clear. The area's real golf resort: 405 rooms on Mobile Bay and the 36-hole Lakewood Club (Azalea and Dogwood) on the RTJ Trail, 3 minutes from the rooms. The hotel lists green fees with cart of $226 through Nov 30, 2026 and $205 from Dec 1 to Feb 28, 2027. The 15% resort fee includes range balls. It's 45 to 75 minutes from the beach courses, so it's a separate trip, not a base for Kiva.

Craft Farms also has The Bunkhouse, six bedrooms with two queens each next to the first tee, for golf groups.

Fort Morgan: closest to Kiva Dunes and Peninsula

Kiva Dunes is the area's top-ranked public course (No. 13 in Golf Digest's 2025-26 Alabama list), and Peninsula is on the same road, 11 to 13 minutes away.

  • The Beach Club Resort & Spa: 1- to 5-bedroom Gulf-front condos and lakeside cottages with kitchens, a spa, five outdoor pools and an indoor pool, 3 minutes from Kiva. A 4- or 5-bedroom unit holds a whole group. Watch the strict cancellation terms (no refunds for hurricane evacuation), an unpublished resort fee, a $40 vehicle registration fee and a 1-2 vehicle cap per unit.
  • Gulf Shores Plantation: the cheaper beachfront option next to Kiva, mostly 1- and 2-bedroom condos rented through several managers. Fees, pet rules and unit quality vary by manager, so book every unit for the group through one.

The trade-off: groceries are about 20 minutes back toward Gulf Shores, and Lost Key is nearly an hour away.

Hwy 59 and Craft Farms: the most golf within 10 minutes

The inland chain hotels on Hwy 59 aren't on the beach, but from the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express, Gulf Shores Golf Club, both Craft Farms courses and Peninsula are all within 10 minutes.

  • Hampton Inn Gulf Shores: free hot breakfast and parking, no resort fee, and a Coastal Alabama Golf package of 3 nights and 3 rounds (Cotton Creek, Cypress Bend, Peninsula). A renovation runs through Jan 15, 2027.
  • Holiday Inn Express & Suites: next door, with free breakfast, guest laundry and free parking that allows trucks, trailers and RVs. IHG's page says Kiva Dunes is 5 minutes away; it's about 20.
  • Courtyard Gulf Shores Craft Farms: 5 minutes from the Craft Farms clubhouse, with free parking, guest laundry and a bar. Breakfast costs extra, and its package with Coastal Alabama Golf includes Kiva Dunes.
  • Hampton Inn Foley: 11 minutes from GlenLakes and 12 from Craft Farms, with free breakfast. The beach is about 8 miles away.

For prices on those packages, see Gulf Shores golf packages.

Gulf Shores beachfront

  • Embassy Suites Gulf Shores opened in July 2025 at the main public beach. Two-queen suites sleep six, and breakfast and an evening reception are free. The resort charge (about $46 a night with tax) plus $30 to $35 parking adds about $76 to $81 a night. It's lively, a short walk from The Hangout.
  • The Lodge at Gulf State Park is a quiet, full-service Hilton on state-park beach with an adults-only pool and no resort fee. Parking is $15 to $22 a day and breakfast costs extra. The state park's golf course closed for good in December 2018, so ignore older listings that mention it.

Orange Beach: closest to Lost Key and Perdido Bay

The Orange Beach hotels are 17 to 29 minutes from Lost Key and 19 to 31 from Perdido Bay. Gulf Shores Golf Club and Craft Farms are 9 to 22 minutes.

  • Hampton Inn & Suites Orange Beach: free breakfast, sofa-bed studios, and restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. Parking is $15 a day.
  • Island House Hotel (DoubleTree): every room is a Gulf-front 2-queen with a balcony. Parking is free for one car, and breakfast costs extra.
  • SpringHill Suites at The Wharf: suites with sofa beds, free breakfast and parking, and The Wharf's restaurants on foot. It's on the waterway, not the beach, and concert nights get loud. You must be 21 to check in.
  • Hilton Garden Inn Orange Beach: beachfront at a mid price, but the lowest guest rating of this group (3.9 on Google) and $10 parking.
  • Perdido Beach Resort: full-service Gulf-front resort and Lost Key's named lodging partner, though no package was found. It has usually closed for most of December, and a conversion to Marriott's Tribute Portfolio is planned for early 2027.
  • Turquoise Place: 3- to 5-bedroom condos with full kitchens, many with balcony grills, ideal for 6 to 8 golfers in one unit. Its cancellation rules are among the strictest on the coast.
  • Caribe Resort: bayside condos with full kitchens and free boat slips, 17 minutes from Lost Key. Rules vary by unit manager.
