Overseed / closuresClub says it keeps 'fairways, tees, and greens lush and green all winter long', unlike other local courses, and that its sand base drains fast with no cart-path-only days (winter 2026-27 page). It does not say whether that means rye overseed or colorant. No aeration dates published.

Signature holes

  • Lakes #7 - par 5 that is reachable in two, with Mobile Bay as the backdrop. Wetlands left and OB right; lay up down the right side (club's named signature hole).
  • Marsh #6 - drivable par 4 to an elevated green with several tee angles.
  • Marsh #9 - risk-reward par 5. Going for it in two means challenging the lake left of the green.
  • Lakes #9 - long par 4 to an elevated green.

Local knowledge

  • Three nines (Marsh, Lakes, Cypress). The superintendent picks which two you play on the day, so you cannot book a specific 18.
  • Lakes has water on every hole, Cypress is the longest nine with forced carries, and Marsh has the most decisions off the tee.
  • In winter the club claims greener turf and better drainage than nearby courses (no cart-path-only days). That is a reason to pick it for a Nov-Mar trip, but confirm conditions when you book.
  • Book direct and early in winter. Pricing is dynamic and the club says earlier bookings get lower rates.
  • It is on Fort Morgan Road on the way to Kiva Dunes, so the two make an easy same-day pairing.
  • Watch for alligators and eagles. The course borders Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.
