Courses
- Craft Farms Golf Club - Cotton Creek, Gulf Shores: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 7127 yards, rating 74.2 / slope 129, green fees seen $70–$85. The longer, tree-lined of Alabama's only two Palmer designs, five miles inland from the beach. Its winter Six-Pack works out to about $70 a round across both Craft Farms courses.
- Craft Farms Golf Club - Cypress Bend, Gulf Shores: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6848 yards, rating 72.9 / slope 135, green fees seen $70–$85. The shorter Craft Farms 18, with wide fairways but water on almost every hole, and the higher USGA slope of the two. GolfPass reviewers rate it highest. Play it with Cotton Creek from the same clubhouse on one Six-Pack card.
- GlenLakes Golf Club, Foley: public, 27 holes, par 72, 6912 yards, rating 73.0 / slope 125, green fees seen $37–$210. A Devlin-von Hagge links-style 18 in Foley that costs half what the beach courses do, with afternoon rates under $50. Worth the 20-minute drive for value hunters and snowbirds.
- Gulf Links Golf Center, Foley: public, 18 holes, par 64, 3987 yards, rating 60.1 / slope 99. A low-key par-64 executive course in Foley with a range. Cheap and quick for a warm-up round; call for a tee time.
- Gulf Shores Golf Club, Gulf Shores: public, 18 holes, par 71, 6856 yards, rating 72.9 / slope 127, green fees seen $49–$139. The original Gulf Shores course, five minutes from the beach. A solid, watery par 71 that is easy to fit into a beach day. Fall and winter twilight rates ($79-$99) are the smart play.
- Kiva Dunes Golf Course, Gulf Shores: resort, 18 holes, par 72, 7122 yards, rating 74.9 / slope 142, green fees seen $107–$174. The area's top-ranked public course and its priciest, around $130-$175 depending on season. Expect a windy links-style round with real penalties for missing on the wrong side. Twilight saves $30-$40.
- Lake Forest Golf Club, Daphne: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6324 yards, rating 71.0 / slope 123, green fees seen $55–$55. A short, inexpensive neighborhood course in Daphne. It's open to the public at $55 with cart. Not worth an hour's drive from the beach unless you're already up the Eastern Shore.
- Lakewood Club - Azalea Course, Point Clear: resort, 18 holes, par 72, 7156 yards, rating 74.4 / slope 131, green fees seen $215–$215. The friendlier of the two Grand Hotel courses, with a peninsula-green par 5 at 14 and bay breezes. Expect resort prices and no walking. The cheapest way on is an RTJ package that pairs it with Magnolia Grove.
- Lakewood Club - Dogwood Course, Point Clear: resort, 18 holes, par 72, 7104 yards, rating 75.2 / slope 141, green fees seen $215–$215. The tougher Grand Hotel course, and the one the USGA used for the 2021 Senior Women's Amateur. Three water par 3s and a 141 slope from the back. Worth it if you're staying at the Grand or buying an RTJ package.
- Lost Key Golf Club, Perdido Key: public, 18 holes, par 71, 6801 yards, rating 73.0 / slope 143, green fees seen $55–$95. The best-conditioned course in this group, with paspalum from tee to green, about 20 minutes east of Orange Beach. It is tight, wet and sandy, so play a tee forward.
- ONE CLUB Golf (The Nine at ONE CLUB), Gulf Shores: public, 9 holes, par 35, 2298 yards, green fees seen $44–$65. A short, narrow executive nine near Craft Farms. Useful for beginners or a quick loop, but not a trip anchor.
- Orange Beach Golf Center, Orange Beach: public, 9 holes, par 27, green fees seen $15–$30. A cheap city par-3 nine with a lighted range in Orange Beach. Good for kids, beginners or evening range sessions.
- Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club, Gulf Shores: semi-private, 27 holes, par 72, 7125 yards, rating 74.1 / slope 135, green fees seen $89–$89. A 27-hole lowcountry layout among oaks, marsh and lakes next to a wildlife refuge, with new TifEagle greens. It makes a strong winter pick because the club claims its turf stays green and dry. Book direct and early for the lowest dynamic rate.
- Perdido Bay Golf Club, Pensacola: public, 18 holes, par 72, 7052 yards, rating 74.3 / slope 138, green fees seen $50–$85. A long, watery former PGA Tour course about 20 minutes from Orange Beach, at fair prices. Afternoon rates are good value, but expect slow greens, and brown fairways in winter.
- Quail Creek Municipal Golf Course, Fairhope: public, 18 holes, par 72, 6280 yards, rating 70.5 / slope 120. Fairhope's city course: flat, cheap and handy for a short day trip from the beach. Conditions are muni-level. The greens are partway through a TifEagle conversion, so call ahead.
- RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove - Crossings Course, Mobile: public, 18 holes, par 72, 7212 yards, rating 74.8 / slope 135, green fees seen $115–$155
- RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove - Falls Course, Mobile: public, 18 holes, par 71, 7158 yards, rating 74.5 / slope 137, green fees seen $115–$155
- RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove - Short Course, Mobile: public, 18 holes, par 54, 3140 yards, rating 57.2 / slope 101
- Rock Creek Golf Club, Fairhope: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6915 yards, rating 73.4 / slope 136, green fees seen $26–$89. A well-kept, hilly Earl Stone course and probably the best daily-fee value on the Eastern Shore. The 70-foot drop on #2 is the hole you'll remember. Book after 2 pm and the price roughly halves.
- Soldiers Creek Golf Club, Elberta: public, 18 holes, par 72, 7001 yards, rating 72.8 / slope 119, green fees seen $35–$65. A cheap, wide and easy inland course near Elberta, about 35 minutes from the beach. Recent reports on conditions are poor, so play it for the price, not the quality.
- Steelwood Country Club, Loxley: private, 18 holes, par 72, 7032 yards, rating 75.2 / slope 137
- TimberCreek Golf Club, Daphne: public, 27 holes, par 72, 7222 yards, rating 74.5 / slope 137, green fees seen $39–$89. Twenty-seven hilly Earl Stone holes with a real 7,200-yard test from the back. Conditions have been uneven, but prices are fair and you can book six months out. Ask for Pines/Magnolia if the Magnolia nine is open.
