Tucson golf in November is the start of the good season: mid-70s afternoons, dry skies and freshly overseeded courses playing green. Rates step up toward peak but the full winter crowd has not arrived. Plan around two dates: El Tour de Tucson road closures on November 21, 2026 and Thanksgiving on November 26.
October is the month of overseed closures and temporary greens. By November that work is mostly done, the rye is in, and snowbirds are rolling into Green Valley, SaddleBrooke and the RV parks. Here is what to expect and what is still closed.
Quick facts
- Weather (NOAA 1991-2020, Tucson airport): 75.1F high, 47.9F low, 0.56 in of rain over about 2.5 days, average wind 7.1 mph.
- Conditions: fresh rye on overseeded courses; most fall closures are over.
- Still closed: the Anza nine at Tubac Golf Resort, until about January 2027.
- El Tour de Tucson: Saturday, November 21, 2026; rolling road closures across Tucson, Marana and Oro Valley.
- Thanksgiving: November 26, 2026.
- Clocks: from November 1, 2026, Tucson is one hour ahead of California and Nevada.
Weather for Tucson golf in November
November is dry, sunny and comfortable all day. The only cool part is the first hour, and how cool depends on where you play.
| Area (NOAA station) | November high | November low | November rain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Central Tucson (airport) | 75.1F | 47.9F | 0.56 in |
| Green Valley | 75.7F | 43.3F | 0.51 in |
| Oro Valley edge (Catalina State Park) | 75.8F | 37.5F | 0.80 in |
Afternoon highs are almost identical everywhere. The difference is the nights: cold air drains into the valleys, so Oro Valley and SaddleBrooke mornings start cooler than central Tucson. Frost delays become more likely as December arrives. See Tucson weather by month for the full year.
After the overseed: what is open
Most Tucson-area desert courses are bermudagrass overseeded with ryegrass in the fall, so they play green from about November to April. Overseed typically runs from mid-to-late September into October. By November, course by course:
| Course | Fall 2026 status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Sewailo | Closed Sept 14-Oct 1; cart-path-only to Oct 23 | Fully back by November |
| Tubac Golf Resort | Rancho and Otero open; Anza closed | Anza greens rebuild until about January 2027 |
| Crooked Tree | Took times through overseed in late October | GolfNow showed an over-seeding alert on October times |
| El Conquistador (Conquistador) | Taking times in late October | $46.69-$85.79 for October 27, 2026 |
| Randolph North | October overseed group in recent years | No fall 2026 dates published |
Two more to check before you count on them. The El Conquistador Cañada course had no times on October 27, 2026, which could mean an overseed closure (not confirmed). The 9-hole Pusch Ridge course at El Conquistador has historically run November to April, but its 2026-27 season opening was not confirmed: status unclear, call first.
At Tubac, everyone plays Rancho and Otero until Anza reopens, so expect busier tee sheets this fall. The Otero and Rancho greens were rebuilt in 2023 and 2024 to Dominator bentgrass. See the Tubac Golf Resort course guide. Our Tucson golf overseed guide has the full list.
November rates: stepping toward peak
Rates rise as the rye comes in. The clearest example is San Ignacio in Green Valley: September 2026 prepaid deals ran $27.99-$43.99 with a cart, and late-October times were $41.88-$71.61, mostly $51-$72. The course's own insider note puts it simply: late-October rates more than doubled from September.
| Course | Price | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Quail Creek, non-resident 18 with cart | $130 plus tax | Prime season Oct 1-May 31 (2026 sheet) |
| Quail Creek, resident or renter 18 | $84, cart extra | Same |
| SaddleBrooke Country Club, resident 18 | $79 AM / $61 PM | Winter, Nov 1-May 31 (2026 golf year; 2026-27 not yet seen) |
| San Ignacio 18 | $41.88-$71.61 | Late October 2026 (GolfLink) |
| Sewailo Amateur Championship | $140 entry incl. green fee, cart, range, lunch | November 2, 2026 |
SaddleBrooke's golf year starts on November 1. In the 2026 golf year, renters could buy a Renters Play Pass at $580 a month with unlimited golf subject to tee-time availability; the 2026-27 price may differ. The Quail Creek course guide covers how renter rates work there.
The City Card for the rest of 2026
The Tucson City Card page read on October 26, 2026 listed the card at $50 plus tax for the remainder of 2026, down from $119. It gives one complimentary round, city-card rates every round at all five city courses, guest rates for up to three guests, 7-day advance booking, 50% off a first range package, 10% off food and 15% off in the golf shop. Earlier 2026 terms said cards expire December 31, 2026, so it covers only November and December. Our Tucson golf passes guide explains the options.
November dates to plan around
November 1, 2026: clocks. California and Nevada fall back to standard time. Tucson stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, so from now until March 14, 2027 it is one hour ahead of Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. Worth knowing when you book an early flight.
November 19-21, 2026: El Tour de Tucson. The 43rd edition is on Saturday, November 21, with the 102-mile start at 7 AM. The Expo and Fiesta opens Thursday, November 19. The ride loops the metro, with rolling road closures across Tucson, Marana and Oro Valley much of the Saturday. Book a course near your base that day, or plan a later tee time, and leave extra time for airport runs.
November 26, 2026: Thanksgiving. Family visitors arrive on top of the snowbirds, and holiday-week demand pushes tee times. Book the week as soon as windows open. Our Tucson tee times guide covers booking windows.
Snowbird arrivals
Snowbirds start arriving late in October and through November. If you are staying the winter, November is the month to settle in, pick a home course and sort out passes before January demand. Monthly prices step up too: Rincon Country West RV Resort park model rentals list $2,050-$2,150 a month for October to December against $2,950-$3,450 from January to March, and one SaddleBrooke seasonal rental listing asked $4,000 a month from November to April (date unverified). See our Tucson winter golf guide and the guide for Canadian snowbirds in Tucson.
For a resort trip, Starr Pass celebrated a grand reopening on November 1, 2025 after clubhouse and course work, and is one of the resort courses that also sells public tee times.
A November week of Tucson golf
November suits a one-week trip as well as the start of a winter. A simple way to use the month:
- Early in the week: play the courses that finished overseed first and are now settled, such as Sewailo, now past its cart-path-only period, which ran to October 23.
- Midweek: Green Valley, where San Ignacio, Haven and Torres Blancas all sell public tee times. Mornings there run a few degrees colder than central Tucson (November low 43.3F), so a mid-morning start is more comfortable.
- Saturday, November 21: stay near your base because of El Tour road closures.
- Thanksgiving week: book early, or plan the trip for the week before.
The month also suits a resort stay before peak demand. Rates step up through November, and the biggest crunch, the February gem shows, is still months away.
