TPC Scottsdale is the City of Scottsdale's 36-hole public facility, run by the PGA Tour: the Stadium Course, home of the WM Phoenix Open and its par-3 16th, and the cheaper Champions Course. Anyone can book either online. The Stadium is the bucket-list round of most trips and one of the Valley's most expensive tee times in season.
This guide compares the two courses, the rates seen in 2026, booking, Phoenix Open week and where to stay. TPC Scottsdale is 21 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale. Rates are dynamic and change by date.

TPC Scottsdale Stadium vs Champions
| Tee | Stadium (men) | Champions (men) |
|---|---|---|
| Back | Championship 7,261 (74.7/142) | Black 7,115 (73.2/135) |
| Second | Players 6,614 (71.5/131) | Blue 6,653 (71.1/129) |

From similar middle tees the two play close in difficulty. The difference is the setting, the history and the price.
The Stadium Course
The Stadium is a desert stadium course on flat ground, built with spectator mounding and water on the closing holes. It is home to the WM Phoenix Open and hosted the 2026 edition on February 5-8. The holes everyone knows:
- 16th: a short par 3, enclosed by grandstands during tournament week.
- 17th: a drivable par 4 with water left.
- 18th: a par 4 with water down the left.
Cart is included. The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar, a golf shop and a DraftKings Sportsbook. In the run-up to the Open you play past grandstand construction around 16 to 18.
Play it if you want the tour round and can live with the price. It is fair rather than brutal from the Resort or Players tees. See the Stadium course guide.
The Champions Course
The Champions is Randy Heckenkemper's 2007 desert course with wide fairways, natural washes and big bunkers, booked through the same TPC system from 8243 E Bell Rd. A third-party guide put it at about $120 weekday and $150 weekend in May and October-November, treated as approximate. During Phoenix Open week parking and access change.
Play it if you want one TPC round on a budget, or as the second half of a 36-hole day. See the Champions course guide.

WM Phoenix Open week and overseed
The 2027 WM Phoenix Open runs February 8-14, with the 72-hole event Thursday February 11 to Sunday February 14 and Coors Light Birds Nest concerts February 10-13. It is Scottsdale's most expensive hotel week, with heavy traffic around Bell Rd and Hayden Rd. Expect the Stadium to be unavailable around tournament week; exact public closure dates were not published. See our Phoenix Open golf trip guide.
TPC did not publish 2026 overseed dates for either course. The Stadium normally closes in early October; KTAR reported a prior year's close on October 7, also the start of build-out. Both were open in November 2026.

Pairing TPC with nearby courses
Grayhawk Raptor and Talon are 8 to 9 minutes from the Princess, and Kierland is 8. A common two-day plan is the Stadium one morning and Grayhawk the next; read our Grayhawk Golf Club guide or see north Scottsdale golf. Dominick's Steakhouse at Scottsdale Quarter and Zinc Bistro at Kierland Commons are close for dinner, and the Penske Racing Museum is near TPC.
If you have played a Pete Dye stadium course in the desert, compare it with our PGA West Stadium Course guide.
