Contour art: Scottsdale tee times: booking windows, systems and how to land a peak morning

Scottsdale tee times are sold through a patchwork of systems: some resort and daily-fee courses open 90 days ahead, the City of Phoenix courses open 9 days out, and several clubs give their card holders earlier or cheaper access. For a January to April trip, book the day each window opens; February is the hardest month to find a morning.

This guide lists every published booking window in our files, how each group of courses sells times, and the cancellation and fee rules worth knowing before you commit a foursome. Windows and prices were seen in October and November 2026 and change.

Quick facts

  • Longest windows: 90 days at We-Ko-Pa, Kierland, Eagle Mountain, Dove Valley Ranch, Gold Canyon and Quintero.
  • City of Phoenix courses: 9 days out for everyone, 10 to 14 days for Phoenix Golf Card holders (online, convenience fee).
  • Short windows: Trilogy at Vistancia 12 days; Sun City West 4 days for the public, by phone or in person only.
  • Not published: TPC Scottsdale, Troon North, Talking Stick's public window, McDowell Mountain, Legend Trail.
  • Hardest weeks: WM Phoenix Open week (February 8-14, 2027) and Cactus League spring training (from February 19, 2027).
  • Time zone: Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, so check the clock when booking from home.

Grayhawk's window comes from a live check: on November 3, 2026 its sheet showed November 10 times but none yet for December 1, so the exact number of days is not published.

The 90-day courses

For Scottsdale tee times at courses that open three months ahead, the main trap is waiting. We-Ko-Pa publishes the clearest calendar in the Valley: the resort rate is $239 from October 23, 2026 to January 7, 2027, $329 from January 8 to April 25, 2027, and $359 in Phoenix Open week (February 9-14), the same price on both courses. Its Arizona ID rate (for example $179 before January 7) needs every player to show an Arizona licence and can only be booked 7 days or less out, so visitors from out of state should book early at the resort rate. See the Saguaro course guide.

Gold Canyon says booking early gets better dynamic rates, and adds a 5.5% course water fee and tax. Quintero's table on November 3, 2026 showed $162 pay-now against $171 pay-later before 8am, so paying online up front saves about $9 to $11.

City of Phoenix: the 9-day system

Aguila, Cave Creek, Encanto and Palo Verde all sell through the city's booking page or the pro shop. Everyone gets 9 days; Phoenix Golf Card holders can book 10 to 14 days out online for a convenience fee. The card is $60 the first year for Maricopa County residents ($40 to renew) and $120 a year for non-residents. Posted city rates are valid for groups of up to 12 players. Our Phoenix municipal golf guide covers each course and its rates, and Phoenix golf passes compares the card with the other discount programs.

TPC Scottsdale and Troon North

TPC Scottsdale's Stadium and Champions courses both book through the TPC system on EZLinks. TPC does not publish a window; a third-party guide says peak-season Stadium times book out 30 to 60 days ahead. Pricing is dynamic: GolfNewsNet reported Stadium rates as high as $550 in the weeks after the 2026 Phoenix Open. Guests of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess can use the resort's golf concierge, which books TPC times up to 90 days out. See the Stadium Course guide.

Troon North Monument and Pinnacle share one online sheet with no published window. Guests of the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North get booking help and priority tee times through the resort.

Card holders get the short-notice deals

Several programs trade a fee for earlier or cheaper booking:

  • Arcis Players' Card ($279 for 2026-27): 8-day booking and 20% or more off at eight Arcis courses including McDowell Mountain, plus select Grayhawk play days.
  • Talking Stick Card ($129 plus tax): card rates for the holder and one guest, but only when booked 3 days or less out.
  • Legend Trail Loyalty Card ($349 plus tax): 7-day booking and up to 50% off green fees.
  • Dove Valley Ranch Loyalty Card ($360): 30-day preferred times at Dove Valley Ranch, Power Ranch and Longbow.

For a week-long trip these rarely pay back; for a snowbird playing weekly they often do.

Getting a peak-season morning

January to April is peak golf, and the best Scottsdale tee times go first. February stacks the WM Phoenix Open (February 8-14, 2027) on top of spring training, which opens February 19, 2027 and runs to about March 20-23. Barrett-Jackson (January 23-31, 2027) mostly fills hotels near WestWorld rather than tee sheets. Practical rules:

  1. Note each course's window and book the morning it opens.
  2. For 90-day courses, book as soon as your dates are firm.
  3. For groups of more than eight, call or email: Trilogy at Vistancia asks groups over 8 to email the golf shop.
  4. Read cancellation terms: Talking Stick charges the posted rate unless you cancel or reduce at least 48 hours ahead, and Dove Valley Ranch wants 24 hours' notice by phone.
  5. Watch December and January dawns: early times can wait on frost.

Our Scottsdale buddies golf trip guide covers big-group booking, and Scottsdale golf and spring training covers the February to March crush.

When tee sheets open up

Late September to early November is overseed season. Most courses close for two to three weeks in turn, so Scottsdale tee times are limited by closures more than demand: the question is which courses are open, not finding a time. See Phoenix golf overseed for 2026 dates. From May the snowbirds leave and most courses drop to summer rates; June to September tee sheets are wide open at first light. Our Scottsdale golf rates guide has fees by season, and the Tucson tee times guide covers the same questions for Tucson.

Plan it on the map

Open the Scottsdale golf map to see every course with its booking link, window and overseed dates. The $30 plan builds the days around each course's window, and for a winter stay it can set a weekly rotation so you know which Scottsdale tee times to book each week.

Questions golfers ask

How far ahead can you book Scottsdale tee times?

It depends on the course. We-Ko-Pa, Kierland, Eagle Mountain, Dove Valley Ranch, Gold Canyon and Quintero publish windows of up to 90 days. The City of Phoenix courses open 9 days out, and Grayhawk's online sheet showed times about a week out but nothing four weeks out when checked on November 3, 2026.

How do I book TPC Scottsdale tee times?

Both TPC courses book through the TPC Scottsdale online system on EZLinks. TPC does not publish a window; a third-party guide says peak-season Stadium times book out 30 to 60 days ahead. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess says its golf concierge books TPC tee times up to 90 days out for guests.

Do Phoenix Golf Card holders get earlier tee times?

Yes. At the City of Phoenix courses anyone can book 9 days out at the posted rates, and card holders can book 10 to 14 days out online for a convenience fee. The card costs $60 the first year for Maricopa County residents and $120 a year for non-residents.

What is the best way to get a morning tee time in peak season?

Book the day the window opens, especially for January to April. February is the tightest month, with the WM Phoenix Open (February 8-14, 2027) and the start of spring training on February 19, 2027. If your course has a short window, set a reminder for the exact day it opens.

Can Arizona residents get cheaper Scottsdale tee times?

At some courses. We-Ko-Pa's Arizona ID rate applies only when every player shows an Arizona licence or ID and the time is booked 7 days or less out. Quintero's AZ resident rate was $144 before 8am against $162 for the public on November 3, 2026.

What happens if I cancel a tee time late?

Policies vary and are worth reading before you book a group. Talking Stick charges the posted rate unless you cancel or reduce at least 48 hours ahead. Dove Valley Ranch takes a credit card and asks for 24 hours' notice by phone.

Are tee-time prices fixed in Scottsdale?

Mostly not. Grayhawk, Troon North, TPC Scottsdale, Gold Canyon and Bear Creek use dynamic pricing that moves with date, time and demand. Grayhawk and Gold Canyon also add a course water fee of 5% and 5.5% on top of the posted rate.
