Mesa golf courses open to visitors include Las Sendas, Longbow, Superstition Springs, Dobson Ranch, Red Mountain Ranch, Painted Mountain, Apache Wells and Toka Sticks, with 2026 fees seen from $28.99 to about $79. Most of Mesa's 55+ community courses are for residents. They sit 18 to 40 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, in the heart of the snowbird RV belt.
This guide covers the daily-fee courses, the 55+ and private clubs, what closed, and the RV resorts and hotels for a Mesa base. Most Mesa course records were thinly researched, with no 2026-27 rate cards, so the fees here are booking-site snapshots with dates. Check the course for winter rates.

The daily-fee Mesa golf courses
- Las Sendas: a hilly Robert Trent Jones Jr. desert course in the Red Mountain foothills with Valley views; one of the East Valley's better public desert tests. Public times are on the club site and GolfNow, alongside member play. See the Las Sendas course guide.
- Longbow: a 2003 Ken Kavanagh desert daily fee in northeast Mesa, managed by Troon. It is on the $360 Thompson Golf Group Loyalty Card with Dove Valley Ranch and Power Ranch. See the Longbow course guide.
- Superstition Springs: Mesa's main mid-priced 18 near the Superstition Springs mall, on the $279 Arcis Players' Card (20%+ off posted rates, 8-day booking).
- Dobson Ranch: the flat, tree-lined city muni, cheapest of the full-length 18s. See the Dobson Ranch course guide.
- Red Mountain Ranch: a 1986 Pete Dye design that sells public tee times on GolfNow and TeeOff; listings disagree on whether it is public or semi-private.
- Painted Mountain: a short Frank Boxberger par 70, popular with snowbirds.
- Toka Sticks: a 1951 flat course with mature trees near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport, cheap by reputation; no rates were found.
Which one for whom: Las Sendas for the low handicappers, Longbow or Superstition Springs for a mixed foursome, Dobson Ranch and Painted Mountain for cheap weekly rounds, and Augusta Ranch (if it is open) for a quick executive loop. Snowbirds on a card can rotate Longbow (Thompson card) and Superstition Springs (Arcis card) at discounted rates all winter.
Card details for Arcis, Thompson and the city courses are in Phoenix golf passes.
Mesa's 55+ and private courses
Mesa has more community courses than any other part of the Valley, but few are open to visitors:
- Apache Wells Country Club: a Jack Snyder course in a 55+ community that sells public tee times; listings disagree on access.
- Leisure World Coyote Run: a 6,437-yard course in a gated 45+ community; residents, their guests with gate clearance from the owner, and yearly members.
- Mesa Country Club: a private historic club; Golf Course Industry reported an Andy Staples renovation; play as a member's guest or through club reciprocity.
- Access not verified, ask first: Viewpoint Championship and its 9-hole executive, Sunland Village East, Fountain of the Sun, Desert Sands, Royal Palms and Sunland Springs. These are typically for residents and resort guests, and some sell public times.
- Alta Mesa: a former private club; GolfLink marks it closed while Google Maps still lists it. Status unclear, call first.
Leisure World's Heron Lakes, Sunland Village Golf Course and the Highlands at Brentwood pitch and putt are also mapped by OpenStreetMap, but their 2026 status was not confirmed, so they are not on our map.
Closed Mesa golf courses
- Arizona Golf Resort: Google Maps now lists 425 S Power Rd as an apartment building, and reviews since 2023 described the course as unwatered.
- Stripe Show Golf Club: the 9-hole course closed on July 31 when its lease ended (year not captured).
- Riverview: closed around 2011-2012 for the Cubs' spring training facility.
- Dreamland Villa: razed for more than 200 homes in 2015.

Timing a Mesa golf winter
Mesa's spring training parks, Sloan Park and Hohokam, fill hotels from February 19 to about March 20-23, 2027; see Scottsdale golf and spring training. No Mesa course published 2026 overseed dates in the records read, and most Valley courses closed for two to three weeks between late September and early November, so call before an October round. Gold Canyon's courses, 47 to 55 minutes from Old Town, are next door to the east; see Gold Canyon golf. For Chandler and Sun Lakes, read Chandler golf courses.
