Myrtle Beach events for golfers: the dates that move prices and traffic

Myrtle Beach events can decide a golf trip's cost. Bike rallies, a music festival, a PGA Tour event and the World Am fill hotels, block tee times or jam US 17. The big ones: Can-Am Days in March, Bike Week and the Myrtle Beach Classic in May, Memorial Day's Bikefest, CCMF in June and the World Am.

Below is the year in order, with what each event does to golf, and which dates are confirmed for 2027.

Myrtle Beach events calendar for golfers

Dates come from event and news sources read in late 2026; confirm before you book anything non-refundable.

The Myrtle Beach Classic at the Dunes Club

The Grand Strand's PGA Tour stop, the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, plays May 13-16, 2027 at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club. It is the event's fourth year at the club and a week later than the first three editions, with a 120-player field.

For a golf trip, it cuts both ways. The Dunes Club, which only takes limited guest times at the best of times, is not an option that week. But a tournament day makes a good break between rounds. The rest of the year, unaccompanied guests can book limited times but never on Fridays, Saturdays or holiday weekends; see the Dunes Club course guide.

Bike rallies and Bikefest

Bike Week Spring Rally: about ten days in mid-May (May 8-17 in 2026, May 9-18 in 2025). Thousands of motorcycles centre on Murrells Inlet and Surfside along US 17 Business and the Harley dealerships. It is noisy, roads are busy and some hotels feel it. The 2027 rally is likely to overlap the Myrtle Beach Classic week.

Atlantic Beach Bikefest, the Black Pearl Cultural Heritage and Bike Festival, runs over Memorial Day weekend. It brings very large crowds to Atlantic Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach, and some years have brought traffic restrictions in Myrtle Beach. This is the weekend most golf groups avoid.

Bike Week Fall Rally: smaller, in late September and early October, again around Murrells Inlet and Surfside. It lands at the start of the fall golf season.

Carolina Country Music Fest

CCMF runs June 10-13, 2027 at Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place in central Myrtle Beach, with Cody Johnson and Zach Top announced as headliners. Central hotels fill and Ocean Boulevard and downtown are congested for four days. A golf group can work around it by basing on the North or South Strand that week. The World Am: golf's own big week

The Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship is the one event built for golfers. About 3,000 amateurs play dozens of Grand Strand courses for a week (the 2025 field was capped at 3,000). The 2026 event ran from an August 30 check-in to September 4 finals, and 2027 dates were not published.

If you are entering, it needs a handicap. If you are not, expect blocked tee times at host courses and busier golf lodging than usual for late summer. Some deals follow the event: the World Am's own page listed Barefoot villas from $77 a night for August 28 to September 6, 2026, and Wedgefield sold World Am practice rounds at $35. Can-Am Days and spring break

Can-Am Days, timed to Ontario's March Break, brings a large Canadian crowd, with lodging and attraction deals, in mid-March: March 15-21, 2027 per one trade report. College spring breaks cluster in March and school breaks around Easter, March 28, 2027. All of it lands on the busiest golf weeks of the year, so book tee times and packages early. Fall and winter dates

TPC Myrtle Beach hosts the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship each year in late fall, so check for closures there; see the TPC Myrtle Beach course guide. Thanksgiving week is busy with families. Christmas to New Year is busier and dearer for rentals, while the rest of late November to February is the cheapest golf of the year.

One winter date works in your favour: Barefoot's Super Bowl special, $98 any day on the Love, Fazio, Norman and Dye courses from February 10 to 16, 2027, which it calls its lowest rate of the year. See Myrtle Beach golf in winter and Myrtle Beach golf in fall.

Event traffic: where it jams

The worst periods are summer Saturdays (rental changeover) on US 501, US 17 and Ocean Boulevard; the bike rallies on US 17 Business around Murrells Inlet and Surfside; Memorial Day weekend in North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach; CCMF downtown; and July 4. The usual pinch points are US 501 through Carolina Forest and at the Intracoastal Waterway bridge, Kings Highway through Myrtle Beach, US 17 at Barefoot Landing, and US 17 through Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island.
