Fact box: Las Vegas summer golf: how to play the heat for the lowest rates

Las Vegas summer golf is the cheapest golf of the year in exchange for real heat: highs of 99F to 105F from June to August and about 78 days a year over 100F. Play it at first light, ride, carry plenty of water and be done by late morning. Green fees on hot deals can run less than half the peak rate.

This guide covers the summer numbers, the summer fees our research found, how to structure a summer golf day, and what changes in late August when overseed season begins. Fees were seen in 2026 and change.

Quick facts

  • Heat: June 99.4F, July 104.5F, August 102.8F average highs; July lows 82F.
  • Days over 100F: about 17 in June, 26 in July, 25 in August.
  • Rates: the lowest of the year, with dawn and twilight specials.
  • Tee times: first light; sunrise about 5:23-5:59am, June to August.
  • Night golf: Angel Park's lit Cloud Nine holes, the North Las Vegas par-3, Topgolf.
  • Late August: overseed prep starts at some courses.

GolfNow figures are prepaid hot deals and third-party prices; the TPC figures are approximate (Green Fee Tracker, April 2026) and the Serket ranges come from an undated third-party listing. TPC afternoon rates (about $100 weekday and $120 weekend in that listing) are roughly half the morning rate, though in July the afternoon is the hottest part of the day. See the Bali Hai course guide and the TPC Las Vegas course guide.

How to play Las Vegas summer golf safely

Our heat research boils summer golf down to four rules:

  1. Book the first tee times. Sunrise is about 5:25 to 6:00am from June to August.
  2. Ride. Take a cart even if you would walk in spring.
  3. Carry far more water than usual. Refill at every chance.
  4. Finish before midday. The afternoon is the hottest part of the day, and July afternoons average 104.5F.

Pick courses close to your hotel so you can tee off at first light without a long drive in the dark. From the Strip at Flamingo Road, Bali Hai is 7 minutes, Las Vegas National 10 and Las Vegas Golf Club 14. The Legacy and Wildhorse in Henderson are 19 and 20 minutes.

Night golf and evening options

If the dawn start does not suit the group, Las Vegas has golf after dark:

  • Cloud Nine at Angel Park: a 12-hole walkable short course modelled on famous par-3s, with nine holes lit for evening play, plus the lighted Devine 9 putting course. Rates were not listed on the page our research read.
  • North Las Vegas par-3: a city-run lighted nine; listings give last tee times around 8 to 8:30pm in spring and summer. It lists a closure at 107F or above, and a 2024 review reported a $9 green fee.
  • Topgolf Las Vegas: 120 all-weather bays behind MGM Grand, open until midnight Sunday to Thursday and 1am Friday and Saturday, priced per bay per hour for up to six players.

More off-course ideas are in things to do in Las Vegas for golfers.

Late August: the start of overseed season

Summer rates last into early September, but late August is when courses start preparing for the fall overseed. In 2026:

  • Angel Park Palm closed August 24 to September 4, with cart path only to September 19.
  • Siena aerated August 24-25 and skipped the traditional September overseed.
  • The Legacy began overseed prep on September 1.

If your summer trip runs into late August or September, check each course before you book; see Las Vegas golf overseed.

A sample summer golf day

Time Plan
about 5:00amleave the hotel; Bali Hai is 7 minutes from the Strip, TPC Las Vegas 22
first lighttee off with the first groups
about 10:00-10:30amfinish, lunch indoors
midday to late afternoonpool, sleep or an indoor stop such as the Mob Museum or Shark Reef
eveningCloud Nine's lit holes at Angel Park, Topgolf, or dinner

The times are a guide, not course schedules; each course sets its own first tee time. Skip 36-hole days in July and August. If the group wants both courses at a two-course facility, such as the Angel Park Mountain and Palm, play one at dawn and come back for the other at dawn the next day rather than in the afternoon heat.

May and September: the shoulder months

May is the gentler way into summer golf: about 89F with roughly 16 days over 90F and three over 100F, and courses usually step down to summer rates late in the month or in June. EDC fills hotels on May 14-16 and 21-23, 2027. September is the other end: still about 95F with eight days over 100F, and the month most courses close or play temporary greens for overseed, so it is a poor month to plan a summer-rate trip around.

Hotels in summer

Our season research describes June to August as the cheapest stretch for both green fees and hotel rates, and our events calendar lists no big conventions in those months (EDC is in May). Room rates were not captured for summer 2027, so compare on your dates. Resort fees do not drop with the season: the big Strip resorts charged about $51-$62 a night including tax in November 2026. See Las Vegas resort fees.

Who summer golf suits

  • Golfers on a budget who can be on the first tee by 6am.
  • Groups that want the splurge course for less, using summer Double Down or GolfNow deals.

It does not suit walkers, heat-sensitive players or anyone who wants a relaxed noon start. Late spring (May) is a halfway house: about 89F, with courses usually stepping down to summer rates late in the month or in June. For cheaper golf the rest of the year, read cheap golf in Las Vegas. For other desert summers, compare Mesquite summer golf and Phoenix summer golf.
