A Las Vegas events calendar matters more for golf trips than it does in most golf towns, because Strip room rates follow conventions and big events more than the golf season. The weeks to plan around in 2026-27 are SEMA, the F1 Grand Prix, NFR, New Year's Eve, CES, the NAB Show and the two EDC weekends. Golf itself is quiet: no PGA Tour event was found for 2026 or 2027.
Dates below come from organisers, ticket sellers and news coverage read in November 2026. Where a 2027 date was not found, we say so.
Quick facts
- Biggest hotel spikes: CES (January 6-9, 2027), the F1 Grand Prix (November 19-21, 2026), NFR (December 3-12, 2026) and New Year's Eve.
- Strip traffic: F1 race week disrupts roads around the Strip for weeks.
- Best value nights: Sunday to Thursday; Friday and Saturday cost the most.
- No Tour stop: the Shriners Children's Open ended after 2024.
- Off-Strip bases in Henderson and Summerlin are less exposed to convention spikes (not quantified).

CONEXPO-CON/AGG, one of the city's largest trade shows, is triennial; it ran in March 2026 and is next expected in 2029, so it does not affect 2027 trips.
November: SEMA, F1 and Thanksgiving
November is fall-peak golf, with highs about 67F and fresh rye, and it has three events stacked on it. SEMA (November 3-6, 2026) pushes rates near the Convention Center and Venetian. Then the F1 Grand Prix (November 19-21, 2026) brings a race-week room spike and road closures on the Strip, Koval Lane, Harmon Avenue and Sands Avenue that have disrupted traffic for weeks in past years. Golf groups often base in Henderson or Summerlin that week.
F1 also moves the most expensive green fee in town: press reports put Wynn Golf Club at up to $1,000 during the holidays and race week, against a $450-$1,000 range that moves with hotel rates. If cost matters, avoid both. Thanksgiving (November 26, 2026) is busy, and Reflection Bay listed an 8:30am Thanksgiving Day shotgun for 2026.
For the golf side of the month, read Las Vegas golf in October and November.
December: NFR and New Year's Eve
December would be a cheap month without NFR. The rodeo's ten nights (December 3-12, 2026) fill Strip and off-Strip hotels, and casinos run western-themed events around it. After NFR, the rate picture quietens until New Year's Eve, one of the most expensive hotel nights of the year, with Strip road closures for the fireworks. Golf in December means highs about 57F and frost delays on early tee times. See Las Vegas golf in winter.
January to March: CES, Super Bowl weekend and March Madness
CES (January 6-9, 2027) is the city's biggest convention: rooms are among the dearest of the year and restaurants and taxis are stretched. The week after is usually far cheaper, which makes mid-January one of the better-value golf weeks of the winter.
Super Bowl LXI is in Los Angeles on February 14, 2027, but the weekend (also Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day) is one of the biggest sportsbook and party weekends in Las Vegas, so weekend rates rise. March brings the NCAA tournament's opening weekend, traditionally the third weekend of the month (2027 dates not confirmed here), on top of the spring golf peak.
April and May: NAB and EDC
The NAB Show (April 3-7, 2027) lands in the best golf weather of the spring. EDC fills hotels on two weekends, May 14-16 and May 21-23, 2027, with overnight traffic on I-15 north toward the speedway. A midweek golf trip in May slips between them.
Golf events and what is not on the calendar
There is no PGA Tour week to plan around. The Shriners Children's Open at TPC Summerlin was last held in October 2024, and no 2026 or 2027 Tour event there was found. TPC Summerlin is a private club, members and guests only, so you would only ever have seen it as a spectator.
Shadow Creek, the MGM guest-only course, was reported by GolfNewsNet in April 2026 as host of the 2026 Aramco Championship (LPGA); our files hold no dates for it, and Shadow Creek is booked only through an MGM hotel stay. See the Shadow Creek course guide.
Sports on non-golf evenings: the Vegas Golden Knights play NHL hockey at T-Mobile Arena from October to April, and the Raiders play at Allegiant Stadium from September to January. Schedules were not read, so check before you book.
Which months are quiet
Read the other way, the Las Vegas events calendar for golf shows clear gaps. Late October has fall-peak golf on fresh rye and no major event in our file before SEMA starts on November 3. The two and a half weeks between NFR (ends December 12) and Christmas have cool weather, winter green fees and no listed event. Mid-January to early February, after CES and before Super Bowl weekend, is the other quiet stretch, and late April after NAB is spring golf without a convention. June to August has no listed events at all, along with the lowest green fees and the most heat.
None of this means cheap rooms are guaranteed; our files did not capture room rates, and any midweek convention not listed here can still move prices. Check a few hotels for your exact dates before you commit the group.
How to use the calendar
- Pick the week first. Check the table before you lock flights; the same room can cost several times more in an event week than on a quiet midweek night.
- Stay Sunday to Thursday where you can.
- Base off the Strip in F1 week. Henderson and Summerlin hotels sit close to most courses anyway.
- Price the resort fee too. Strip resort fees ran about $51-$62 a night including tax in November 2026, on top of the room; see Las Vegas resort fees.
- Check overseed if your dates fall in September or early October; see Las Vegas golf overseed.
Some courses near the Strip work in any event week because you do not need to drive far: Bali Hai is 7 minutes from the Strip at Flamingo Road and the Angel Park courses 19 minutes. Henderson's Serket (ex-Rio Secco) is 23 minutes and TPC Las Vegas 22. See the Serket course guide.
For month-by-month weather and fees, read the best time to golf in Las Vegas and the Las Vegas golf trip overview. Mesquite, 80 miles up I-15, has a quieter calendar; see Mesquite golf at Thanksgiving and Christmas. For a desert town where golf events do set the calendar, compare Palm Springs golf events.

Questions golfers ask
When is the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2026?
Thursday to Saturday, November 19-21, 2026, with the race on Saturday night on a 3.8-mile street circuit that includes the Strip. In past editions, road closures and grandstand work around the Strip, Koval Lane, Harmon Avenue and Sands Avenue disrupted traffic for weeks. 2027 dates were not found.
When is CES 2027?
January 6-9, 2027 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Venetian, per exhibitor and event listings rather than the CES site. It is the city's biggest convention, with some of the highest Strip room rates of the year. The week after is usually far cheaper.
When is the National Finals Rodeo?
December 3-12, 2026, ten nightly performances at the Thomas & Mack Center. It fills Strip and off-Strip hotels in what is otherwise a quieter, cheaper month. December 2027 dates were not found.
Is there a PGA Tour event in Las Vegas?
Not one we could find for October 2026 or 2027. The Shriners Children's Open at TPC Summerlin ended after the 2024 edition, per Wikipedia. TPC Summerlin is a private club in any case.
Do events change green fees in Las Vegas?
At some courses. Press reports put Wynn Golf Club near $1,000 during the holidays and F1 week, with its price moving with hotel room rates. Most courses price by season and demand, so check your exact date.
Which week is cheapest for a Las Vegas golf trip in winter?
Our files point to early December before NFR starts on December 3, and the week after CES ends on January 9, 2027. Sunday to Thursday nights are usually the value play. Room rates were not captured, so compare on your dates.
